I had the album years ago and saw the band in 78 at the appropriately named Electric ballroom. As for the song, I get the impression of an old burnt out actor or performer of some kind, who is stuck in a role and although he attempts to get back to the past and what is familiar, he can't pull it off and is in a kind of limbo, perhaps he's in a hospice where he decides to make a last confession to a reporter with a tape machine before he passes out and passes on.
I cant help but think....for every human on this planet...there are 2 versions of Being Boiled. Cant get enough of there early work, its so futuristic some havnt even herd it yet.
Hi, i really love this song since my childhood, i just like everything about it - but can someone please explain me the lyrics oder what the song is all about? there are some twists in it, though my english isn't that good.
It`s left to your own Improvisation - To me it is prophetic, Dystopian in a time of social decay and a consequential isolation of an individual. Perhaps a nurse taking care of an elderly person remembering times of a better word.......(Prior lockdown & quarantine)
Fantastic video which adds a moving interpretation of the song
I went to Poly in Sheffield. This was my soundtrack. Stunning
Great sounding

Darkly moving, great video...
They used footage from the David Cronenberg film "Shivers" for this video.
What is that movie about
Its the WORLD Before Last.
Personally this record had many words but nobody wanted to join in with the smashed guy with depression that had a dream?
And very appropriately im left handed....
described Mrs thatchers first 2 months in power as.....disastrous
Where these things taken from a movie and if they are what the name of the movie
DESCRIBED MRS THATCHERS FIRST TWO MONTHS IN POWER AS............DISASTEROUS!!!
