Our first Impression of Mumbai, India 🇮🇳 (not what we expected)

  • We finally arrived in India's second-biggest City, Mumbai. While being the second biggest in population, it is the financial Capital of India, with many people calling it the New York of India.
Today we explored South Mumbai, which harbors a lot of old colonial Style buildings, beautiful streets, nice parks and many good restaurants. We walked through the filled streets and also took a visit to the Gate of India, located on the harbor side in South Mumbai.
While having a lot of Colonial touches, South Mumbai still felt really vibrant and filled with culture. We landed in a traditional Indian restaurant and ate some Samosa and drank some Lassi and chai with it.
We had a great first Impression of This Part of Mumbai and are hyped to see more of this Huge City! 🇮🇳

You can simply refuse it. But if you chew it well it has cooling effect on body and tempers down the effects of spices.

That means you will get mostly freshly prepared food. They will stick to the local flavours and authentic rather than high end restaurants where they change it to suit the taste buds of international customers.. Without saying your bill swells up. HI Bros.! - I am from Delhi and loved your vlog- great start !!!. I liked the way you described your day's adventures in Mumbai. Vegetarian food is safest in India. If you are feeling hungry and want to avoid any oily /fried stuff, ask for Dal (Lentil) and Chawal (Rice) or Dal and Roti (Bread)- this is safest food to have anywhere in North India. In South and West and nowadays everycity in India has Idly (fermented rice pancake)and cocunut chutney and sambar will keep your tummy safe. If you have any oily stuff like samosa or pakoda - wash it down with Chaas (butter milk) or Lassi (thicker version of butter milk) - these will nuetralise the oily stuff. In cities, go to eateries which are crowded- they have high turnover and no carry forwarded stuff and popularity means they have to be careful not to lose their clientele. On National Highways -the thumb rule is to stop at Dhabas (Roadside eateries) where truck drivers eat - you will not go wrong on stuff- Vegetarian stuff is by far safest in India. Lunch is between 1pm to 3 pm , Tea (ask for ginger tea or masala tea) , Filter Coffee (in south India). If you want to have a gastronomic adventure in North India- try- Chole Bature, Chole Kulche, Samosa (you already tried), Bread Pakoda, Onion Pakoda, Matar Paneer, Palak Paneer, Rajma Rice, Chole Rice etc. In west - Bata vada, Vada Pav, Misal Pav, Bhel Puri , In South India- Idly, Dosa varieties, Filter Coffee, Vada varities, Pongal, Bajji, etc. Sometimes, all these times are available in same eatery, but try to get the flavor in the local region otherwise people tend to mix their local ingredients and make their own variety. Best Wishes !!

What the guy gave you as mouth freshner is what we call saunf, theyre basically fennel seeds. The trick is to keep chewing them like gum till they're almost soggy in your mouth and then you can swallow or else you'll find it hard to swallow and it'll feel like needles 😂😂
Ik you just popped into India, and i dont to claim to know everything about Mumbai despite living here lol but would love to hang out with you guys some day since yall will be here for a while. I could show you around the areas near my college that ik well about.

I am from Kolkata, which is called the cultural capital of India 😊 It is on the Eastern side of India. 🙏🇮🇳 Must try Mumbai street food are pav bhaji, vada pav, bombay sandwich, falooda, keema pav, misal pav, etc.
Just be careful with the kind of combination you guys are taking. You do not drink lassi, Pepsi and tea on the same sitting. Lassi is a yogurt drink, Pepsi is a soda full of sugar and tea is a hot sip milk mixed drink, together they can result in an upset tummy. You should ideally maintain a couple of hours gap between those drinks. 🙏🇮🇳
