I recall something Richard Bong said... "When you think you're too close, go in closer". When I was flying combat sims, I preferred not to open fire until my target's wingtips extended outside my sight rings. I spent a lot less ammo, and a lot less time chasing damaged enemy aircraft.

Graphics are stunning... plus I'm glad I'm not the only one that sucks flying the Corsair :)
The corsair in the real pacific has a deadly reputation again the Japanese, But in IL2 the FM is crap plus you cannot see anything behind you.
yeah, it can do 400+ in level flight... I can barley make it go 300 more like 270 in level flight.
How would you know the flight model is Crap, compared to what? I bet you've never flown the real thing in combat.
