I know your a Godly soul . Asking for prayers building a 10'x7' camper for my sister and myself.. I'm disabled and she is crippled. Need strength, knowledge and funding to complete it before the 3rd . God is my only hope to complete this in time before we are homeless. Thank you
🙏🙏🙏
We are praying for you ❤
PRAYERS 🙏
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I am hoping you get what you need. Think and work towards it
I love how you explain everything in an easy, plain, and simple manner. I'm learning and taking notes based on what you post. Thank you, Homestead Heart, for taking your viewers back to the basics.
Rather than add an additional light, maybe you could add some of that reflective material onto the underside of each shelf to reflect some light back down to the plants in the middle.
That sounds like a great idea! Nothing beats a failure but a try.
Mrs. H. I found a similar shelf on Amazon and used the emergency blanket to wrap the front and sides. It was up against a wall so no need to cover the back. This isea works wonderful.
I love the shelf! My house is smallish, but with a shelf like that, I could disassemble and it would be easy to store when not starting plants. 😊
Maybe add some aluminum foil to the middle of the shelf to reflect more light to the plants underneath. You know, the plants in the middle of your trays. Reflecting the light you have might work
The light shields that came with my grow lights has helped prevent inconsistent growing. They focus the light inward.
You are one of my favorite youtube channels!!
Your starts look amazing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Mrs. H those peppers looks beautiful, even the tiny ones.
Can’t wait to get to my post office tomorrow and get my seeds I ordered from you! 🤗 thank you Mrs. H I always learn something new from your videos!
My shelf and the lights from Harbor Freight are working well.
Hello Everyone
Thank You Mrs. Heart❣️
Bless you ms.H when you going to sing 🎶 again you have a beautiful voice have a great day
Good stuff. I went tankless in my laundry room and created a greenhouse. I purchased clear vinyl shower curtains from Dollar Tree. Taped them together with strong water resistant tape and voila, I have an inexpensive grow room
Thanks everyone need to plant food are so high in the store specially eggs again so I did start a small garden and have(11) chicken God bless you and your family
I planted my potatoes in boxes like you did and people was laughing at me but watch lol
Blessings 💞🙏🏾💞
Just found you in you tube. You are very refreshing.
😊❤❤❤😊Thank you Mrs.H. I most definitely 💯 appreciate all your knowledge from the Lord. You have opened my eyes to the emergency blanket. I never thought of that. It is a wonderful idea 💡 God bless you and your family tremendously ❤❤❤
Thank you for telling about your needing to have a 3rd light! I’ll keep that in mind for mine.
I use Hyper Tough 4 ft Steel, 5000 Lumen LED Shop Lights in my seed starting station. I put 2 shop lights per shelf and do not experience uneven plant growth.
Are you setting them in a fairly small confined space like this? I'm such a newb to the whole growing with lights thing.
@@natshellok I have 2 large shelving units that are 72 inches high and will hold 4 plant trays per shelf. 2 shop lights per shelf eliminates uneven growth.
@@missietgardendelight6029 Very cool. Thanks. I actually have a couple of that exact light that I ended up not using in my barn.
Thank you for the tips on the heat mats! So many gardeners instruct us to turn off the heat mats after germination- I never understood ? Why not leave the mats on??
Great tips! Thanks again for a great video!
HELLO MRS. H. VERY NICE PLANTS
Garden blessings! Not having the grow lights in the middle of the tray may help with succession planting. Providing plants at different stages to extend the growing season. I love what you were doing with the channel and hope to follow in your footsteps.
About the different heights of the seedlings... I would solve that by grouping all the tallest seedlings on one shelf together..... and group the shorties together separately.
Clothespins work well for attaching the mylar blankets also.
Good Morning from NewJersey
I started planting my seed in February , my cabbage and broccoli, chives , garlic is growing outside from last year.
Hi Mrs. H! Will you be making a video on how to harden your seedlings when it's time? The hardening is usually where I lose most of my plants that I started.
Thank You for sharing😊 We are thinking alike about the brassicas!!!😂
Such a smart setup! Thank you for sharing!
You just gave me a fabulous idea for how to *sequentially*plant !!! in a single swipe. Heat Mats ...!! Easy way to retard or enhance the growth cycle! .. Thank You, dear hearts. Funny how we find better methods thru unconscious "errors". -- 💌🍒
I love the class sessions
Hello Mrs. H. Great set up. ❤️🙏
Thank You Mrs. H !!!! ♥️
Thank you for another amazing video Mrs. H. You always answer my questions in them. Now can anyone please tell me where I can purchase those trays and 4” pots?
And I love your videos!
🍅🫑Your seeds are growing fast. Nice!🍅🫑
Love you so very much! You have been my teacher for quite a while! I am subscribing from a new name change for my new channel! Best wishes! I always will be appreciative of your influence!!
Rural King and Harbor Freight have the best prices on the LED lights in the Knoxville area.
I love you guys show!!!!
I've had so many seedlings dry up and 🎲.... Just one widow in my craft room...and the only place I have to keep them for their own protection.... My oldest kitty likes to be head them. Not even eat them, just bites them off. LoL ..just not sure what else to do .. our last frost date isn't until April 27th ....can't afford heat mats currently ...may try grow light(💡) s
Thank you so much for your wealth of information. 🤩
Just wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful information you and Mr. H provide. I so enjoy your channel. Also, thank you for turning me on to Lead Farmer 73. He’s great!
Yeah, he taught me ' Air Layering ' form of rooting fruit trees 👍
I start my seeds in my living room.and cover the shelves with a sheet so I dont get blinded by the light!
Ordered my seeds yesterday!
I'm just starting my seeds now because I'm in a bit colder climate than you. It's one of the most exciting times in gardening!
Thank you !
As I'm watching you, my wheels are turning. You mentioned needing to get a 3rd light for each level. What if you took a reflective surface (like the mylar or tinfoil or a mirror) and hang it between the lights to reflect the light to the center of the tray. Not sure if it would work, but I would think its worth the try to attempt to save money and get even growth. Just the brain train of someone always looking for a better way to do everything.
Thanks for sharing. Great info. 👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much everything is looking great
Thank you for this video this is gonna help a lot
I'm going to get that set up going along with the one I already have. Thank you for this ideal set up for the space I have left. Yours look great as always. ✌and 🙏👍💕.
Very helpful video. Thank you.
I'm sorry, Mrs. H, but those bottom lights cause a glare through the camera that I can't see what level you have your hand to show how tall the seedlings need to be before raising the lights. Can you give us an idea as to how many inches above ground the seedlings need to be before raising the lights?
This was great timing! I'm using grow lights for the first time ever and I was trying to plan out the spacing. Clearly the light needs to be in direct contact with each plant. I only got 4 light so I may need a couple more. I started several things a couple of weeks ago in little seed starter kits that have a little covered tray with a small light for every 12 little cells. I'm now having to transplant those into 3" cups because in just 10 days the tomatoes all reached the top and bent over! So I got little bar lights to go over the 3" cups. I hope I didn't mess them up. Broccoli and egg plant sprouted super fast in those little trays as well. One or two more weeks and I can get them outside. (We're zone 7b.)
I setup a seed starting station very similar to yours. But my tomatoe seedlings are turning yellow and getting leggy. I guess the lights are not as strong so I’m ordering the same as yours and will hope for recovery. I really hope I don’t have to restart. Thank you for ALL you and Mr Heart do
Good evening Mrs Heart 🌹 thank you for sharing this great information and knowledge 👍❤️🙏
Ty sooo much for your knowledge 😅
Thank you, Mrs. H. You gave me good ideas, especially when it comes to lighting and heat mats. I wasn’t going to purchase heat mats, but now I will. 😊
Wow! Those pepper plants look really nice 😮. How did you get them to grow so nice and thick? I tried last year with peppers and they only got to about an inch and a half tall and then they stopped growing ☹️. . is it hot in there? Inside of that tinfoil. .? I grow all of my seedlings in my basement. Even my tomatoes and it’s kind of cool down there.
I dont use heat mats. But I have my wood stove going in the living room where I start my seeds so they seem to stay plenty warm! By the time I can use the stove at nite and not all day they are big enough they do just fine! Just getting my seeds going this week! Finally! But cant plant most til middle to late May so am fine on time. Having a nice taste of Spring warmth for 7 days but back to cold and rain snow mix as of tomorrow. Typical n. Idaho March weather! Enjoy your warmth down there!
Such a great idea! The plants are doing so well. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. You sure has helped me over the last couple of years when I have found your channel. I'm not scared with your leadership.
Looks ❤ Good Mrs.H
❤
I think I could get the foil paper at a party store or dollar store ? - you did a great job on the seedling shelf - need heat matts too
Enjoy your videos. Like your setup. Love your step by step info. You cover everything. i would like to ask, when did you start fertiluzing?
Maybe center the two lights towards the middle of the shelf and tray!?
I tried that, and the seedlings on the outside started to get leggy.
@@yolandaj3187 you have the same exact setup? I was just speaking on what Mrs. H has by the way the seedling she showed. Because the ones in the middle were lacking light. It should work. I meant center like just pull the light in a few inches from the outside of the shelf towards the middle seedlings a lil so the middle gets a lil more light like the the ones.
Thanks for sharing
Just turn them sideways that should work you might need more room for your extra trays that cant fit. They are long it help all your seedlings to grow together. Just saying😊 have great day!!!
Very good information❤👍🏾
"Complete?!" Ok, had to check this out.
Do you use homemade seed starting mix, or do you use a consumer brand? Thanks
I started my seeds 2/16. They took off the first week. Now they stopped. In front of a very sunny window. Using heat mats. My house is only 62-64’ so I think it’s too cool inside. Ready to give up again!
Love to watch you share about planting seedlings 🌱-I love flowers and yummy 🥦
It looks like you are in great shape!
I'm trying Brussels for the first time but I'm not very hopeful since I am in zone 8 also.
Greetings Homestead Heart!
This was loaded up with good Information. Thanks for sharing. Those veg. Starts looks better than the ones I just seen at Walmart. Beautiful plants 👍
Hi
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Good information on the veggies and peppers
Question do you get nits from water and fertilizer by fertilizing in the house from 5-1-1 Mrs.H
What about the smell?
I have the same spring to blazing hot summer here in southern Illinois. I wonder if you could plant those Brussels in the shade?
How long did it take your peppers and tomatoes break through the soil after planting?
Could you turn them longways on the shelf?
I'm work with moringa seedlings. My seedlings are getting very tall , but are still weak. Should I replant or just support them until they get stronger
Mrs H. Just a question about your landscape cloth....do you take it up every year or leave it lay?
When do you start using the lights?
Hi, Will you be selling starts somewhere in central georgia? I want to buy some of your corn seedlings. Sincerely, Wanda
Where did you get the lights from , please let me know .thanks .
Where did you get the heat mats
Do you have annoying fungus gnats or other insects flying around and if so what are you doing to get rid of the problem? I have learn watering from the bottom will help but what else to do if the infestation has already started and the seeds has already germinated
what kind of sheet is that Mrs. H?
How do you keep the little black gnats away? Seems they’re in the soil and develop like Gremlins when you water the plants.
What’s the name of the seed starting mix that you use?
Hi can you see me
Awesome info, "Cultivating kindness one seed at a time"🌱🌱🌶🌶🪴🪴🙏🙏
What about the garlic you put I. The refrigerator a month age have you planted them
