You have been a true inspiration in my son and my life. My son's a junior in high school and through your videos, he's found his true passion in life. I feel like I am indebted to you honestly. I can't thank you enough! Even if you drop this project or it don't go the way you've planned, just know you have succeeded 100 times in my eyes! Thank you sooo much!
I feel you Tim. My next game hits EA this June / 03, and I go back and forth between bliss and nightmares. With so much work I still want to get done, its hard not to panic. I wish you the best of luck, and I will be there to help back what I can on Monday. Good luck to you, and I gotta get back to work :)
I'm in the same boat man, you've got this. Right now, after YEARS of procrastinating I'm finally working on my game, I've narrowed it down so it is most definitely possible and not too ambitious. Contacting friends and having them not want to help you anymore, companies that aren't responding or cooperating when I know they should or even used to talk to me, labels not being fair and getting every license I wanted rejected out of money I was saving for years (some even agreed years back to go forth with the license payment, none of it is very expensive, 0-800$). It feels like the world is against you despite it being your fault for not being prepared or just dumb luck. You've got to keep going!
I quit my job as a GPU driver programmer and every day I tell myself I don't know what I am doing. I am working on my game, myself, and where I go from here. Every day I say these things to myself and I feel alone. Thank you for making this!
You got this Tim! I'm really excited for the release and to watch it play out. I've been working on a game for nearly a year now and planning to launch in August and absolutely terrified...
You've reached milestones many devs will never reach. You aren't dumb if your campaign fails. You are dumb if you just quit afterwards. In case things go south, do you and your supporters a favor and don't just disappear after all you've accomplished. Take some time to reflect but report back! Good luck soldier.
@@tim-ruswick You know I've always admired your transparency. Glad you do share with us these types of videos. Being genuine is so important when you are an independent creator. You will always have my support man. Good luck to you.
If the physical game fails~ perhaps you can add it's cool mechanics as a card minigame in Battle Barn Tactics? (Or just a stand alone game). Since physical games just don't sell as well as they used to, it seems wise to make a digital and physical versions at the same time. On average, do indie card games even sell well/Kickstart well? Might not want to compare a card game's selling numbers to a video game's.
Tim I think Murder Bunnies looks like a nice well designed game. The only card game I ever played was Uno, lol. I think most of your supporters are like me in this regard. I will back your game just because I want to support you. The issue is we're not your target market so I hope you don't get discouraged and think Murder Bunnies suck. It doesn't suck, it looks good and interesting but I'm just not into card games. Don't be discouraged you just need to hit the right market.
Today I will launch my game on which I work overall for almost 9 months and I'm so scared! What if nobody will want to buy it? What if on the next day after launch when I get up and sit at my computer, then instead of sales and comments I will meet only emptiness and silence? It happened with me before and probably will happen again but It is reality, nobody cares about what I am doing and nobody owes me. But I do not despair I will just spend another piece of my life working on my next project! As always great video!
You're doing well though, every new thing is always a challenge, no matter how much experience you have. I myself am not interested in card games, but I am following, and if you release a video game, I would wishlist it in a heartbeat.
man. keep on going. we all take a leap of faith when we try to do something big. I wish you can have success but otherwise just fine tune and try again. Is not "life coach" fake words. Just keep going :)
Well i've been watching your channel for years now, i can tell you that you do know what you're doing. That little voice inside that we all hear too tells you otherwise but it's a liar. I've even gotten in arguments with that little voice. You're not going to tell me i can't do that, I'll show you! 😂😂Anyway, you got this and best of luck with your Kickstarter. I'll give you a shoutout on Twitter when your Kickstarter goes live on Mon.
All well said Tim! Getting my game Sweet Pea to launch has but one of the hardest chunks of my life. It is a rollercoaster for sure. A long scary one but so awesome too.
I like ur videos, but plz cut the low frequencies from your speech. My subwoofer is exploding if I watch you in my living room. :D And good luck with your project! Looks cool
I miss the old streams where you would build games using construct haha. If you could use existing card game engines (or construct) and build this game for PC or tablet that would sell so much better because the main audience (us) that you are selling to is generally people who create/play video games, less board games and even less card board games. It's just statistics man, nothing personal. Good luck with this and other projects.
I don't think anyone goes into game dev for the money when they could make so much more with the same skillset elsewhere. Card game is something i always wanted to do. Said fuck it. Did it anyway.
Better be hated than ignored? Relax. You've picked the most profitable medium to run a campaign in the entertainment category on Kickstarter, the battle cards. You'll do fine :)
Drop a bit of money on Facebook ads... totally worth it. I know it's an expense but you have to be able to put money into your own work if you expect others to put money into your work.

We never know what we’re doing when we’re doing something new!
Just backed the project, my man. Good luck!
Thank you so much dude!!!
Wow good luck buddy and thank you for all tutorials.
I appreciate how human you are Tim and I wish you all the luck in the world! Can't wait to checkout your kick starter!
This validates how I’m feeling and that’s it’s somewhat normal, thank you.

I love the card artwork 😍
Thanks for your honesty. Good luck for the launch
Hi mate... You inspired me to start my own pixel art channel. Thanks a lot.

Nah I'm not going to. But I wanted to share the doubts that go through my head because so many people don't.
Miss ya man.

You keep going on - Overcoming your comfort zone over and over again. Take care buddy, gonna check out murder bunnies
I have a final exam on Monday lol. Good luck!

The Murder Bunnies are actually a faction in Battle Barn: Tactics...so they will live on no matter what lol.
@@tim-ruswick tell us afterwards how good are wishlists on Kickstarter compared to wishlists on Steam. It would be nice to know
@andrey will do

Really proud of you for making it this far dude. Most people don't. Its a long road, but its a hell of achievement once you reach the end. Keep at it!

why would you want to move into making board games? the shipping and other fees will take a large chunk of your income, roughly over
50%.

Yes! That's very kind of you to ask.
Abandon ship. Make a game jam quickie for emergency funds.
