I saw them in a small bar during their 1st tour. I was blown away, and I'd never heard them before that night. Can't believe how big they've gotten, they sure do deserve it! Every album is better than the last. Can't wait to hear the new one in Feb. 2024!!
One day my dad turned on the t.v. and told me "Come here & listen to this band". It was BLACKBERRY SMOKE & the song was, "Ain't Much Left of Me". We were both hooked before the end of the first verse. He gave a gentle laugh and said, "This song describes how I feel". Now he listens to/watches Blackberry Smoke every day. Music has always been the center of our lives & given us a special bond. He's almost 70 yrs old now and, due to health issues, he's hardly able to play guitar or write songs any more. This music has really put some joy back into his life...plus he has turned all of his family & friends into fans. Yesterday, he told me that he wishes he could just be in the room with them while they were playing. He's never been easily impressed but this band has really made a huge impact on him. It is so great to see him be passionate about something again. This music is his medicine.
Where there's smoke there's fire and these boys are on FIRE!! I dnt think there's nuthn they can't play from Ozzy to this song which reminds me of a John Prine tune!!! Gifted musicians that's for damn sure!!!
Every once in awhile something special comes along and these men are something special for sure. Like lighting in a bottle or gold at the end of the rainbow...
Seems so effortless. They slide from rock to country, bluegrass and americana with no signs of faking it or being out of their lane. Best band of the last 20 years!
The more I listen to these guys, the deeper my appreciation for them gets. Love this band, and am looking forward to decades of their music still to come.
Haven't ran across one song ya'all play I don't like or really like. I am a retired musician /drummer and I can see how hard the road is in your faces at times...not as easy as folks think. Lot different,...tired, wore out, sick, lotta things but still gotta put one foot in front of the other. You guy's did a radio interview in my hometown..Rockford Illinois. My Morning Jacket is a good band from my home state, and there's a band from my hometown called Gravelswitch that are starting to get a little exposure. hope ya like atleast one of em lol
