    Mercedes should learn from how that screen is integrated in the dashboard!

    • @Kaisuke971
      @Kaisuke971 8 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      +Tom Erik Brauer Mercedes has nothing to learn at all from anyone in terms of interior design, look at the W222 and the new E-Class. The overall quality is far better than anything in its class, so that's just a little price to pay for this kind of luxury. Plus they are probably gonna fix it next gen anyway.

    • @iMaskyy
      @iMaskyy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I'm sorry, but you will struggle to find a better interior than one of the S class. Mercedes have nothing to learn!

    • @dawiepieterse9703
      @dawiepieterse9703 8 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      i think he is refering to the pathetic attempts in the lower end cars. That mounted touch screen in the dash looks cheap and i agree the prices they charge...could do better

    • @haakonjohansen7370
      @haakonjohansen7370 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Andrew Maksymowski The S-Class is the least nice interior in Mercedes' lineup today. It just looks really bulky, and a bit tasteless. The C-Class is much nicer than the S, but it does have that strange screen coming out of nowhere. Of course, I'd much rather have the Alfa than the C63 AMG, though.

    • @donpedro187
      @donpedro187 8 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      +Kaisuke971 Quality does not equal design. I agree that Mercedes has better quality, but interior design.... no.

    I have literally fallen in love. The outside looks are amazing, with the typical triangular Alfa grill, to the wonderful side profile, and the concluded rear end with the subtle wing and the not so subtle 4 tail pipes. As for the interior, an improvement of the previous models, especially with the Ferrari-esk features, it looks a lot better quality now. The sound is just what you want for a daily car, it's not deafening but still a nice soundtrack. As for practicality, 4 seats, a big boot, fairly decent MPG too. It's also a car you have the option to have a a lot of fun in, but at the same time it serves as a family type car, and it has 500 BHP! What is actually not to like? Only very minor details really. Things you can afford to ignore when everything else is basically flawless. In my opinion, Alfa get a massive pat on the back, and if they produce more cars like this in the future, then I'm sure their reputation will sky rocket!

    • @TheCunnu12
      @TheCunnu12 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +MrCommentator Because you don't need it. Rear drive with 510HP man!

    • @appelpower1
      @appelpower1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      +MrCommentator All cars have those, especially in the Giulia class (I shall stop calling it '3-Series class' now).

    • @mrcommentator7406
      @mrcommentator7406 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      TheCunnu12 appelpower1 But what is the point. Its just more extra electronics to break... in an Alfa Romeo of all cars! Plus no handbrake turns in a performance car kinda sucks...
      You cant use the handbrake for emergency stops... it becomes an issue if you need to jump your car... Sometimes it is difficult to know when the hand brake is on because electronic brakes can be slow and don't offer a tactile response.
      What was ever wrong with the standard handbrake.? Electronic handbrakes suck.

    • @appelpower1
      @appelpower1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrCommentator I don't see the point either, besides perhaps clearing the transmission tunnel, but it's the norm and they unfortunately will have to adapt to that.

    • @Nanorisk
      @Nanorisk 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      +MrCommentator This is a long comment, so please spare some time to read it through before you plow back. I ensure you there is nothing personal or insulting here.
      Handbrakes on normal cars are never designed to be used in an emergency situation. You can drive with the handbrake pulled all the way up. Unless your car has rally car style hydraulic handbrake, chances are you can't even slow the car too much with the handbrake alone at normal road speed. I don't know who started the whole "handbrake = emergency brake" thing, but I'm sure that person knew no better.
      And what's wrong with traditional handbrakes? It's wrong because it is the last piece of the driver input on the entire car (with automatic gearbox) to require some physical strength to operate properly. You probably never thought about that because you assume everyone else is as physically sound as you, but that assumption does not always hold. There are many kinds of people who are unable to use a manual handbrake properly. Women, old people, people would suffer from physical degradation, people who lost their inside arms, and more. To them, a manual handbrake is an awful thing to use. An electric motor can be many times stronger than an average man, resulting in a handbrake application more secure than humanly possible, ideal for the aforementioned groups. All the driver needs to do is to press a button, easy, both a 7-year-old and a 70-year-old can use it without struggle.
      Manual handbrake fails, too, in case you don't know that. In terms of reliability, there is no concrete reason to say that manual handbrake is more robust than an electric one. Since the only purpose of the handbrake lever is to provide the pulling force to the brake cable, we can simply replace that lever with a motor, leaving everything else the same, one-direction locking gear, brake cable, caliper/drum, the whole lot. In that case, the motor is essentially doing the same job of a human arm, and the rest of the mechanism has the same rate of failure because they are identical. A low-power, low-speed, limited-range electric motor can be extremely simple in design, making it almost everlasting and maintenance-free. Don't want an extra motor? Use the starter motor then. We can hook the handbrake cable onto the starter motor, use a one-directional gear set which pulls the cable only when the motor spins in the other direction that starts the engine, put a button on the dash that tells the starter motor to spin in reverse at 1/10 of the torque, a lever to disengage the handbrake lock (which many cars use already), and we are golden. Not powerful enough? It can start a cold engine with all the friction, pulling a handbrake doesn't even require a fraction of that effort, regardless of vehicle size and weight. Unreliable? How often do you see a starter motor fail completely? Even if the starter motor is fucked you aren't going to lose handbrake because the locking gear maintains the tension of the cable. If the locking gear or the cable is fucked then a manual handbrake will fail, too, no difference. I'm not even remotely related to the car industry and I can think of this, I'm sure the engineers are gonna do a better job than mine.
      I don't know what to say about whether a performance car absolutely requires a manual handbrake.
      I personally find lever style handbrake useful in uphill traffic congestions, where I can use it on demand without putting the gear in neutral first, unlike a pedal style handbrake that is only usable in neutral.
      I don't like electronic handbrake for a different reason. I don't like the various operating methods and switch locations, which can be confusing if not driven the said vehicle a lot. But that's about it.

The door handles along with the lock/unlock buttons look almost exactly like those on any Audi vehicle. Even the AC controls look like the new system Audi is implementing in their newest generation of vehicles.

    alfa always combined spirit and stylish and gulia is top level of it so do not compare an alfa with a failure plane engine brand. Alfa born as a car brand and started to produce a legend its called Ferrari in 1929. If you never had an alfa in your life you can't understand what i say. Failure plane engine funs shut up and keep drive your dull metal stacks...
