Thanks Chris, I'm considering a '95 K1100LT with 130K on the clock. Appears to be reasonably well kept, but thanks to you I have half a clue what to look for:)
Going to look at a 1993 K1100 with 47k on the clock. Thanks for the video-I know what to look for now as it'll be my first Beemer bike if I decide to buy.
Depending on the tires, 40 psi can make the front end of a K1100RS really squirrelly. I run mine down in the 34-36 range where they are much more solidly planted.
Chris: If you look around on The Internet you'll find that lots of people run tires like Pilot Road 2s at 36 psi front. Did they all bump their heads too?
I rarely mount Michelin radials and yes those need lower pressure because the carcass is very thin compared to the Metzeler Z6 as I use. Heavy tires improve high speed stability. These machines were designed with very heavy wheels using very heavy tires. That unsprung weight enhances the stability. The K1200LT, just as an example, had a heavier front wheel than the K1200RS and BMW forbade installation of the RS front rim on the LT because there were stability issues during testing which led to the heavier front wheel being on production bikes. You would put a lighter tire on this machine? I've put more miles on these machines than you're probably aware of but you and your internet pals run whatever tires at whatever pressure you like. I'm going riding.
OK, so I don't do Internet pissing matches, I will concede that you're an awesome Internet Ninja rider. All I have to say is that I find PR2s to work quite well on my K1100RSs and my K1100LT.
hey man i have a 96 k1100rs i am building a cafe out of it and want to put a bely pan and radiator shroud on the bike. the build will have no other faring pieces and i am not sure where to get it.
I'm glad that my video was of some use! Good luck, Chris

You're welcome!
Thanks from the UK. Great help on what to look for when I get my next one. Know I know why my K100 RS clutch was slipping!
Thanks for all the good info! Happy Riding!
Thank you and good luck.

By the way, I'm just messing with you. I do think that you posting all of these TH-cams for shadetree mechanics is pretty cool.
Thank you!
super film thanks 👍👍👍BMW money money parts pfffffff
great video. The seller said that the tach doesn't work. could this potentially be a pricey fix?
Thank you in advance.
nice 75/6 in the background?
Good informative video !!!
Chris, Great video. Is there a way to repair the "Second Wind" effect on the fenders? Thanks in advance.
Any spline issues on these like the k100 series?
Lube 'em or loose 'em.
