RIDING MTB TRAILS ON A CARBON ROAD BIKE!

- Riding MTB trails on a carbon road bike turned out to be the best thing ever! I get some lycra on and hit my local trails and jumps to see how much abuse this bike can take! Would you try this?
If you are a mountain biker then I assume that you think road biking is pretty boring, but today I take the carbon road bike onto the mountain bike trails and show you that road bikes aren't that bad if ridden properly!! This is the bike I used in Martyn Ashton's Road Bike Party 3 video where I tear up san diego and do some pretty epic tricks around the city. Since the filming of that it has just been hanging up in my garage and every now and then I get an urge to get it down and go for a ride. So today I decided to head to danbury common, which is my most local riding spot which has a load of different trails with varying difficultly and send it on this weird bike!

He’s the guy that made me feel better about riding my girlfriends minty green trike!! That thing is SO much fun! First thing I did was swap the bull horn bars out for some mtb. I’d pick up a set of mint green pilgrips if he made them. It’s getting fully upgraded when I find the time and cash. Fat trike anyone?

Another great example that it's not the bike, it's the rider. Dude rode better than I ever will riding a road bike with a flat front tire. TOTAL BEAST!!!
He can ride a $99 Walmart bike better than I could ride the best bike there is.

well you don't know the state of the bike afterwards and running carbon wheels on a flat tyre would have destroyed that wheel . Also the components would have degraded quite a bit after that

Its absolute fantastic how Sam brings good spirit to the local kids and by that he's encouraging them to spend quality time riding their bikes. Best dude ever.
I watch your videos all the time and you are one of the legends who inspired me throughout my childhood and teens to continue riding my bike. I only ride dirt because of financial reasons but I love the way you ride every kind of bike and even shred the skateboard in some videos.
I really love you for the positivity in every video and the way you encourage other people to push their limits regardless of their skill level (kids in bikeparks, your friends, your girlfriend).

Only Pilgrim would not only ride a road bike with a flat but push back up several sections of trail with said flat to get a section by section edit of the trail, crazy dude
This kind of reminds me of my old cyclo-cross racing days up the surrey hills, lots of jumps, trees to jump and seriously scarey downhills, great video

glad to see somebody else doing this stuff on a street bike. All's iv got is a street bike, just hit a down hill for the first time last week. I often felt like I was going to crash.

Absolutely awesome. I always worry about being too hard on bikes because I'm a big guy. Sam shows that bikes can handle just about anything. I will still use it as an excuse not to send. I got work on Monday boys.
