It doesn't have the Spider-Kiss move so it doesn't improve on the fact it's basically just the same system as the Arkham series. If it had that one move it would be unbeatable...

I think the problem with it is the Tone in the comedy and Arin's tone. This was the problem with God of War. I'm fine with them playing new games, but even if you haven't played this game before, you can easily tell Arin is ignoring whats going on screen and the combos he can do. Thats why he keeps saying mashing the x button and the comedy speaks for itself, Saying Spider 50 times for the whole episode and dying TWICE in this tutorial *CLAP CLAP* Thats why I'm enjoying Sonic and the Secret Rings, even if the game's controls are very heinous. The comedy is there and they talk about other interesting things game related or not, same thing they do in other long gameplays.
I'm so confused, I found this funny and charming per usual game grumps. I think people's issues might be trying to make GG something it is not? Go watch a serious playthrough and then come back, and I feel like you'd end up having a much better time. I laughed really hard at this episode. The spider kiss shit was hilarious lol that's always my favorite kind of episode. The ones where they "milk a joke dry", as Dan said. As long as it makes them laugh, it usually makes me laugh
