That happened to my copy of double dash but it had a big ass scratch and work perfectly for 4 years and it suddenly it stop 😢

Nathaniel: proceeds to say 5 different problems with the controller.
It's actually a pretty bad controller in terms of modern expectation, and of the mini d-pad, but it was still a good controller in terms of how it feels to use, the left stick and the face buttons were great. It's really a double edged sword of controllers... or something like that.

It was a good console but was hurt by the bad marketing and a 2nd thing (gamecube was tiny disc, Wii U was price/3rd party games)
And they had to do a hard reset to make the switch
I love how this video was originally made to point out the GameCube's flaws, but it's so good that Nathaniel just ended up praising it by then end.

The very next day after Christmas I went to a local store and bought Melee.
I currently own 20 Games, and I’m playing Melee and other games on it everyday on a CRT TV.

In case people are confused, MK Double Dash, Kirby Air Ride and 1080 Avalanche did NOT have online, despite what you think you may have heard. They had LAN functionality where you could connect multiple Gamecubes to play multiplayer as well. I know...people think LAN means automatically online/internet nowadays sometimes, and yes that CAN be a scenario, but LAN really means Local Area Network, meaning connecting multiple devices together in the LOCAL area...usually with cables back then! Of course nowadays there are easier ways with Bluetooth or Wireless connection.
I'm really glad you relased this video. The Gamecube was one of the first Nintendo consoles that I grew up with and this is like a giant nostalga trip for me. You made my day Nathan! Thank you!

sometimes I wonder what it would be like if nintendo opted for DVDs instead altered version of miniDVDs.
plus in some games that did come out on all systems NFS Carbon, the gamecube version literally is missing videos, textures audio etc. due to size limitation

The menu music is so relaxing and just brings me back to the early 2000s when game companies got experimental and tried new things. When there wasnt a big need for online play. A time where you could sit at home and play a game without having to worry about a virus spreading or companies being too afraid to fully try. A time where almost every game on the console was good except for a couple exceptions. I will always love the Gamecube. It is by far my favorite system and will never be topped. I love everything about it. The design, the menu, the controller, the graphics, the gameboy add on and especially the games. This system has some of my favorite games ever made and some of the best in their game series. Luigi's Mansion, Windwaker and Twilight Princess, Double Dash, Pikmin 1 and 2, Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros Melee, Tak and so much more. You can disagree with me but that's how I feel about it.

The thing that triggered me the most about the GameCube is that I didn’t grow up on it and had a PlayStation 2 instead so I missed out on all the amazing exclusives like Mario sunshine or Mario kart double dash
It has that start up screen that instantly makes up for any flaws

I bought my GameCube in winter 2003, with Super Mario Sunshine, Crazy Taxi, and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle to start with. I have since sold it in favor of the Wii, since we didn't have the space for two consoles in the family room and the Wii is backwards compatible with the GameCube.
Nintendo was certainly more risky with their series back then. It was charming...even if I still happen to dig modern Mario sports and easier Kirby games.

i think in the early 2000’s and late 1990’s Nintendo when creating the GameCube wanted to make it portable but that never really worked out but the handle stayed

I guessed was some kind of fake .iso with custom description and icons in Dolphin Emulator
@@TheJakeMG There's a program where you can edit the .iso files really easily! We just edited the text and changed the banner image. Super easy compared to what we usually do

Oh I just remembered the animal crossing commercials for the GameCube and most of them were just a reality tv show. Meanwhile the N64 version in Japan had normal commercials(from what I’ve seen of course). I never saw the weird commercials on TV because I was born in 2005 which is also why I don’t have many GameCube games(since we had a PS2 and I didn’t realize how good GameCube games were until a year or two ago)
