you built the "ultimate" gamecube and didnt even include the network adapter...
Ken with the ultimate flex 💪 “I had two of them!” No one had two wave birds back then.
I have 4 of them and I only paid 4 bucks in the last few years.. This Christian thrift store in my area never knows what they have and they had the adapters and controllers for $0.50 a piece. It's probably my best thrift store find i've ever found in my life.
@@Yodagamer1 good price, i recently buyed a completely functional wii balance board for 1 dollar

Atari 2600: Am I a joke to you?
Were they first party though? NES had the Satellite first party thing that let you plug in 4 controllers wirelessly.
@@kaldo_kaldo I had a wireless controller for the NES back in the day.
@@kaldo_kaldo no
That's why in the video they said "first party"
The wavebird was the first
"Why is the c stick delayed" plays melee on HD TV
As someone who has played melee competitively, that alone is not the problem, they're running a wavebird, 2 adapters, and a TV that's probably not a low latency display, it's a combination of issues (and maybe an actual controller issue)
@@refraggedbean it was the wired controller that had this delay, so I would think it was a controller issue.
Snicker.nicker yeah you’d think they would complain about more than just the c-stick if that was the problem
"But can we put a price on friendship and nostalgia...'' What a quote my man
i was about to sell my switch to help with buying my pc, then i heard about pokemon sword and shield and i got so many flashbacks. ended up keeping it and buying sword and worked off the remaining price LUL

This, by far, is my FAVORITE Austin Evans video. I would be understating how much this video inspired me with collecting older consoles. I was trying to scout these items for quite a while but eventually I gave up, but thanks for inspiring such awesome times in my life, Austin. Keep up the awesome work!
10:08 was that the first Pokemon theme song?
I feel poor now, growing up I only had the GameCube and the controller that came with it. None of this fancy shit
I had a wii with Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Lego Harry Potter 5-7, and some bargain bin monster truck game.
Austin and Ken playing donkey Konga is literally the most wholesome thing ive ever seen!

2:19 that's the packaging that thing came in, in the US (and presumably Canada)??! Wow what the fuck??
Over here in Europe, it was packaged in a box as if it was it's own gaming console, with a Game Boy Player disc in case included. Our Game Boy Player disc case was also different, in that it was a standard Gamecube case, _which is also different in design to the US and Japan for some reason…_
Don't forget when you want run the highest resolution you have to set the GameCube to progressive scan mode so you can get 480p vs the 480i. To activate the progressive scan mode, press and hold the B Button while the Nintendo GameCube logo is being displayed until the message "Display in Progressive Scan mode?" appears. Select YES to activate the mode. Might help the upscaling look just a bit better. It also locks the display to 16:9 as well. Not all games support it but the ones that do make it an interesting little feature.
i felt those feels with the gameboy player... I have one second hand bought a few years back off ebay but I don't know if I could open a sealed unused one! AH. Also, I WANT this setup - love the screen!! DAMN. Also wish I could've joined in for Donkey Konga hahaha hilarious

"Hold on im gonna get my gamecube"
*brings a million wires*
The GC was meant for 4:3 so stretching it to wide-screen messes with things - I think except for certain 480p games on a Wii. I was playing Metroi Prime recently and it seems to increase the FOV so that only the edges of the screen are stretched? Idk but it's the only time I have preferred wide-screen. Regardless playing older analogue output 480p and lower consoles gets interesting quickly if you want things to look not stretched and pixel/aspect ratio correct. OSSCs, RGB (output, not LEDs lol) and component along with integer scales and BOB deinterlacing... My Life in Gaming is a great channel for overviews on specific consoles and products, but it's a rabbit hole lol.
Austin: best at three ?
Ken : sure
Right there , that's the reason this is the best channel in TH-cam ,pure love for games .....

"Ultimate GameCube"
*Doesn't use an actual CRT TV*
Lots of gamecube games supported and included 480p output by holding B when starting the game. You had to have a first model generation gamecube with the digital out port, but gamecube stuff was certainly made to be enjoyed on lcds. They dropped the digital port in later models since most people didn't have digital inputs (hell, lots didn't even have progressive scan composite) on their TVs.
But yeah, GameCube stuff, from the getgo, was made for lcds and higher end crts. You could even argue that using a high end lcd from back then would be the "ultimate" experience.
Yeah that makes sense, but Austin's way of making the "Ultimate GameCube Experience" would just make things more difficult because of having to use triple dongle on a more higher resolution monitor than just buying either a higher end CRT TV or an actual 480p display making things more crisp and clear.
@@joshuadawes7032 higher end lcds from that era cant Compete with crt's the closest thing in that era were plasma screens and Even they where not as good as a crt when IT Comes to input lag.
