That's kind thank you! It's be a manic couple of weeks 😅Oh gosh I don't think I've ever beaten Ryan at a strategy pc game, I would have to seriously increase my skills! I'll have to settle for board game supremacy 😄
@@UrsaRyan Quick question. What if you don't get through the tech tree before progressing to the next age? Are those techs locked now? If they were vital to a win condition what happens?
@UrsaRyan yeah, a very solid to the point guide, thank you very much I also had a question about dark ages, i know only a few of them, but they all seem like abilities that help you hyperfocus on the legacy path, that you got a dark age in Like if you can't get to 1st step of pax imperatoria, then in the exploration age you can get several cavalry armies, but lose all your settlements What about scientific dark ages? Does it make sense to go for science dark age in exploration to hupercharge your science in the modern age?
Love the video, also love the premise of being in a space race with another global super power, and having the edge in production thanks to your abundance of tobacco and whales. Nothing screams hammers like that combo baby
I believe I saw that the golden science legacy earned in both Antiquity and Exploration let your science budlings keep their adjacencies in the next age. That seems pretty huge for getting you an early boost up the tech tree compared to the competition. Is it as huge an advantage as it seems?
The devs have said that completing legacy paths in the previous eras would make that victory faster to achieve in modern era. Is that just because completing the legacy paths can give you bonuses like science attribute points for your leader and free techs in the next era? Obviously that helps but how much of an impact does that have? Based on your experience, if you wanted a science victory, how much does it really matter if you didn't do much with the science legacy paths in the other eras?
@@UrsaRyan Thanks for the reply. I guess that's the part I'm not seeing in the videos I have watched, how exactly do the previous legacy paths reduce the cost of science projects? I haven't seen anyone really explain that.
Just played my first game and tried to go hard for science. But I couldn’t even finish the scientific legacy path for antiquity despite getting every codex in the tech and culture trees :/
In the exploration age, if I finished the path due to a policy card and removed it before the age is over, will I still get the golden age or do you need to have it at the end of an age?
So much of the architecture in these cities looks the same. It looks so busy- nearly every tile seems to have houses attached, with the same colored roof on all infrastructure, overlayed with plot yields. Do you feel it makes city management more tedious, as in it's hard to identify what anything actually is? It seems like you'd need to regularly be toggling the yield overlay. I don't know if I'm communicating well what my thoughts are, my eyes feel strained just trying to see what's going on in the review. Which was really great BTW. Thanks you. The game does look beautiful too. I just find the cities almost jarring to look at, yet bland at the same time.
i officially don't like Civ 7. You should have to chose which victory you want beforehand and then click the science victory tab to tell you what to do. You should explore and try to deal with other civilizations by building up your science. You should be able to win by either science, culture, or military at any given time.
You CAN win by science, culture, or military at any given time. You can follow any or all victory paths at the same time (the only exclusive is which one you win with at the end of the modern age), and you don't even have to follow the same victory paths in every age at all if you don't want to, you can totally pivot based on map and game. Heck you can even pivot your CIV choice mid-game based on your circumstances. If anything I think this game is much more flexible about that than Civ 6, where in most of your games you locked into your chosen victory type in the Ancient Era and went from there.
In my honest opinion, I hate the fact that content creators are giving guides how to play civ when it's not even released. It defeats the whole point of strategy games. Why play it when you already know the optimal way for victory. I did it when i was playing civ 6 at some point, and it killed my enjoyment of the game.
Question: why are you watching our lovely papa bear if not to learn how to be better at this game? There’s no established meta yet, or crazy mods like Mario of the Ming Chinese empire, for Ursa to do crazy runs on. His whole channel is about showing how to use Civs that people might over look and teach… wait for it… strategies!!!! He’s not saying “how to play the game,” he’s “guiding” his viewers, and they can take or leave his advice. Edit: (spelling)
I hate to say it, but as with many video games, I prefer to play them well after they launch, so I get the game and all the DLCs for a reasonable price and after bugs and balance have been worked out and even better once modders have had a go. As such, I'm afraid I won't find much value in this channel for a couple years, which is sad. Best of luck in the meantime.
I genuinely learnt a lot from this when editing it 😄
Thanks again, great job!!
We don't mind you learning more about the other victory conditions as quickly as possible 😂
Huzzah! Who knows! Sleepy may even challenge Ursa Ryan in Civ7!
Thanks for all the edits!
And an excellent edit it is!

WHAT?! Two videos in one day. You're spoiling us.
You're welcome! And for the next few!!
I'm so glad I found your channel in anticipation for CIV7. Videos like this are so helpful
Yay! Hope they're useful when you start to play!!
@@UrsaRyan Quick question. What if you don't get through the tech tree before progressing to the next age? Are those techs locked now? If they were vital to a win condition what happens?
Really awesome that your guide is generalised, i.e. talking about things you can do regardless your leader or civ
Glad it's helpful!

Two videos in one day!?!? Huzzah!!!!!!
And tomorrow!!
thanks so much for those Videos!
seems like science will be the first victory I'll go for, sounds fun and no war needed.
Thank you for putting this together so quickly. It'll really help the burgeoning Civ7 community.
Somehow a British accent makes everything funnier and more satisfying.
Alright gov'nor this 'ere is Civ 7 innit
Great video! This is one of the best guides I've seen for Civilization. I really hope you do more vids like this for the other victory paths.
3 more to come!
whats good bear
The opposite of bad, person on the internet!
Thank you for everything Ursa!
Love the video, also love the premise of being in a space race with another global super power, and having the edge in production thanks to your abundance of tobacco and whales. Nothing screams hammers like that combo baby
Fantastic video!
Huzzah! Thank you
You'd think the track progress would be on automatically the way game settings are usually set from base.
Hey Ursa! Will you be streaming much civ VII in the next few days? I always love hanging around when you do!
Wednesday:) hopefully see you there!
Huzzah!
Huzzah!!
69000 subs! Nice!
Huzzah!!
Ursa is doing a really big content drop
The biggest!

Yes it's very good for the first 15 - 20 turns - worth getting
Maybe a weird question, but what do the first 2 eras add if it wont count towards a win condition?
They both give you benefits to the next era from legacy points, and also decrease the cost of the science projects you have to complete

Crazy to me that they call it "Staffed" when "Crewed" was right there.

The singular of codices is codex.
Anyway, two thirds of them aren't even codices (there are rolls and tablets)
Can I take other peoples' codices by taking their cities? Of course I would never do it. Just a hypothetical
Yes you can! They'll be sat waiting for you to collect them :)
@@UrsaRyanthanks. Love you bear daddy
I had like 11 codices and didn't know why or how. *lol*

"I've been Ursa Ryan"... What are you now
Ursa Ryan - long story don't ask
Wasn't Ada Lovelace a Science leader?
I would assume so but we don't know yet!
@@UrsaRyan Ahh thats right. Thats later. I was thinking she was released already with the live show a few days ago.

For the next few days as well!!
