I've been a Marine since I was 17 years old and that's been over 55 years now, I'm also a retired US Army soldier. Both branches have their plus and minuses...But I always was and will always be a MARINE (even during my Army years they knew that I was a Marine....and there were a few others as well and it showed).
That’s an amazing legacy you’ve left behind @randalldaily5932. I tried to figure out how old you are (55+17= …) but my crayon broke 🤣. Semper Fi brother ✊
As a Marine veteran ofcourse im siding with the Marines, always faithful. But sincerely it doesn't matter which is better its what you put into it. Listen to the army commercial, listen to every word they say, that goes for any branch. Just because you enter into a branch doesn't mean you are garuanteed or promised anything, they are not going to serve you on a silver platter. You got to want it, you gotta go get what you want, earn it daily. Dont just assume you're going to show up and be a badass.
As a Marine and Viet Nam combat Vet, we were always held to the highest degree of military standards, and the Marine Corps has shown it's excellence for over 200 years. Whereas I have respect for all who serve their country, not everyone can be a Marine. It's not FOR everyone. The Marine Corps is an elite force, and conducts itself as such. I have been and done many things in my life, but I became a Marine at 19yrs. old, and I am a Marine for all my life... Once a Marine....Always a Marine !!!! Semper Fi !!!!!!!
I went to parris island when I was 19 got hurt and dropped never walked on the parade deck, this crushed my soul, I tried to reenlist but my waiver was denied, talked to the army recruiter, he said the army will take me no problem. The reason I considered giving the army a try is, I must do something good for myself other then sit in misery contemplating my failure in boot. With that being said I have a ton of respect for the Marine corps and I will be the best soldier I can be.
I’m slowly entering the old breed Marine phase of my life I still love the corps commercials of the late 80’s the lone knight returning from a quest being forged in fire they all got me to want to be the best in fact after my ASVAB I got all the branches bugging me when the coast guard said If i wanted to join them I said I want to take lives not save them
Yes! That last statement solidified you as a Marine through and through ✊. Stay safe and strong Devil Dog - and thank you for supporting the channel. I’m trying to monkey stomp out homelessness for Vets and hopefully I can get TH-cam to help pay for it. Please share and let’s do this!! 🦅🌎⚓️
It seemed there was a focus on the boot camp process the past few years. I do agree the knight transforming into service dress blues is a better commercial!
Yes, the CORPS is a section of the Navy, The MENS SECTION. Never forget that the ONLY reason the Air Force has a basic training academy is so that the Army and Navy can have a reason to laugh!!!
Neither?!? I have to admit the “Be All You Can Be” jingle is stuck in my head… at least until I do any physical activity, then it’s “Marine Corps… Marine Corps…. Marine Corps…” 🤣
The Army, of course! The Marines are the landing force, taking islands, enemy beachhead, right? Then tell me why no Marines were involved in the 2 biggest invasions of the war? During the invasion of the Philippines, there wasn't one Marine there. All Army, conducting a Marine drill in live ammo circumstance. Where were the Marines when the U.S. Army invaded Europe on June 6th, 1944. They were invisible, as in not there! The Army conducted the landing operation, without any help from the Marines. R the Marines worth keeping around? Yeah, I think so! As long as they think they are elite, they may actually help a little bit. The Army has more elite soldiers than you have Marines. Let's not kid ourselves, the US Army wins wars, the Marines paint a pretty picture.
In addition to rejecting Australian ground troops MacArthur also rejected the use of U.S. marines for major ground combat operations during the whole 10 months of the Philippines campaign. The only contributions by the U.S. Marine Corps in this campaign were USMC aircraft and aviators, who greatly helped to provide air cover for the U.S. Army soldiers and assisted U.S. Army Air Forces aircraft, and one small USMC artillery unit, V Amphibious Corps (VAC) Artillery, commanded by Brigadier General Thomas E. Bourke. These 1,500 USMC artillerymen only fought in the Philippines during the Battle of Leyte from October 21 to December 13. This small artillery corps was the only USMC ground combat unit that served in the Philippines in 1944-45.[ .....Why didn't the Marines go to Europe in ww2? Shortly after the United States entered World War II, the Allies agreed that the European Theater would have priority in the war over the Pacific Theater. The Marine Corps' war was in the Pacific and all war plans regarding the employment of Marines reflected that. ( MacArthur was a pompous ass ! )

Even though I was infantry, I like the Marines video, it seemed more authentic and less scripted.
I don’t know who we use for marketing but it is one of the best secrets of the Corps.
as an army veteran I can say Marines have the Best history and Dress uniform and possibly the training as well
