    It's a total rabish when that person thinks that he’s know for sure that it's gonna take 50 years. No more or less. What a genius!

    I wonder what the comparison would be if you crowdsourced a script vs ai script. Sort of a John Henry vs the Machine in the 21st century. Part 2 should be called "Bonded No More" imho

    I'd like to see you take what's good about this and turn it into a more competent submission. Most of us view AI as a tool and not a human replacement. I'd like to see how it augments your own intuition about what makes a compelling script and submit that. Cool post. Thanks for the test drive!

    I tried it too in chatgpt 4 but it's really trivial in coming up with true creative dialogue writing. Also it's sluggish and randomly stops here and there.
    The cap of 25 messages completely did it for me. For three days I tried to get this done, no luck so far, as expected though 😂

    Obscure Nerd VR,
    I don't need Chat gpt for ideas. I have plenty that I have thought through and outlined. My problem is I dont have much free time. I would like to use chat gpt as an editor. I have completed a television pilot using Final Draft, and I have some questions that I hope you can answer for me.
    1. Can I copy and paste my completed TV pilot in parts from a pdf form into chat gpt and use prompts like, "please correct any spelling errors, proper use of parentheses, proper use of syntaxes, proper formatting for a professional pilot script etc"
    Plus any other prompts like those.
    Could I use chat gpt as a second editor with Final Draft being the first editor.
    2. If the above scenario is doable, then how do I get chat gpts edited version of my tv pilot script back into Final Draft or into a pdf form for submitting and posting to the Hollywood types and contests.
    This would save me the time I'm sorely needing.
    Thanks for any help you can provide me.
    Jeff

    AI is a very easy way to write scripts, the only issue with such a script is that currently the industry is fighting against the use of AI. And to be fair, it's never going to be perfect and going to be limited to "nice stuff". Like, if you want to write a crime drama where the killer has racist intentions, forget it, because CHATGPT doesn't cover these theme because they're 'inappropriate' even if that's the point you're aiming for in your script.

    6 minutes in, if the homicidal arts was murdering people who were actually at fault for the death of the 4th friend it would connect the plot points of her mental illness and why the other two friends are still standing by her side and talk her into turning herself in.

    Kinda scary… AI can already do ‘bad-but-not-terrible-bad’ soap opera level writing. And may already be (unintentionally) capable of ‘Sharknado’ type writing.
    What are the hacks gonna do for employment now? Geez. 🤔
    Suggestion: For its next project, give it a bad action movie type premise to work with. Something involving Nazis, zombies, and Nazi-zombies.

      I’m a writer and not scared of this at all. As writers, we have to embrace this technology and learn to use it. I’m more afraid for coders because it already does that veeeerrrry well.

    • @leevieira5083
      @leevieira5083 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Seppe Yes. For now. But, how much better will AI get at writing?
      I think it’s not so hard to envision a future where AI becomes ‘good enough’ to replace most human writers for most writing tasks - even creative ones. IOW, ‘human not needed’, except to supply some parameters. You’re no longer a ‘co-writer’ in the process.
      Scarier still: Eventually better than even the *best* human writers? Hard to imagine, and yet, there was a time when many ppl thought a computer could never defeat a chess grandmaster.
      So, ‘never say never’. Though perhaps actually *being* human will always give (very good) human writers the edge when it comes to writing about the human experience. 🤔

    • @seppevb1181
      @seppevb1181 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It helps with the research phase right now (I personally haven't used it for my own writing because I just like doing that, but I've seen plenty who have. Common thing is, it requires rewrites. It's stale and pretty bland. I always say: "people who can't write are super impressed by it, writers aren't." HOWEVER, it will be someonday, for sure. But it won't make us obsolete.
      Human writers have their own personal touch when it comes to dialogues (just thinking screenplays now) and scene descriptions. A good writer can make things flow. But like I said, the trick is ... Learn to work with it. Like I want to turn a script into a novel. AI could help me there.
      Creative professions aren't the ones that need to have trembling knees. Not sure why all narratives are focussing on that but general reporting, sales reporting, purchase management, data analysis (like SEO), coding (AI is at senior level of coding already), paralegal work, assisting with investments, anything data-driven.
      That's where the big change 'll be happening in the short term. But for some reason all the focus is on creatives :)

    • @leevieira5083
      @leevieira5083 ปีที่แล้ว

      Focus is on creatives likely because,
      - Said articles are *being written by* creatives
      - It gets to the ‘fear of AI’ far more than say replacing accountants or coders. Creative = among our very most ‘human’ traits. Having that aspect of ourselves potentially superseded or replaced by AI is very unsettling, and thus draws interest.

    I've spent over 5 days writing 9 pages 2045 words for my new 90 to 100 page script using Celtx. No AI. Why because AI doesn't have any flair for dialogue or personal experiences which shape true interaction and engagement. Writers will know immediately an AI generated script..
