after my mom used my last magic knight rayearth omnibus manga as a stand for our air conditioner, i'm teary eyed for this new edition. ty for the unboxing!!
Umi and Caldina were always my favorite heroines. Umi served the role of the passionate narrator while Caldina is the best proof that she just needed to learn about the value of love and she deserved a second chance. Her turning over a new leaf/ becoming a good person is admirable.
I still have my original TokyoPop editions from the early 2000s, I was considering upgrading to these but still on the fence despite how gorgeous they are!

Was a fan of the anime when I saw it in the mid 2000s and thank you so much for the video. it pushed me to get one of these I found sealed at a local mom and pop shop I just happen to walk into out of curiosity. It was pretty much the first thing I saw sitting by the counter taunting me as I walked in. I did a quick google search, skimmed your video then asked how they ended up with it since they had normal stuff you'd find in any small town book store. The guy told me it was donated along with a few other manga box sets and an assortment of occult books in mid 2020. The other manga sets from the donation were scarfed up within a couple of months and this was the last of them being probably the most obscure of the bunch. He'd been wanting to move it for quite some time so he cut me a deal. 100$ for the set and any one occult book he had left which were also hard sellers lol. This MKR set and a Joseph Peterson edit of The Lesser Key of Solomon just found a new home.
Rayearth is actually the name of the fire spirit/Mashin that Hikaru bonds with and rides in. The name of the place they are transported to is Cephiro. If you haven't read it in ages, I could see why someone would confuse it... Since Rayearth is only one of the spirits/ Mashin that the three girls discover and bond with. But yeah. Sorry haha, don't mean to sound preachy at all.

Omar did you see Kodansha are putting out another (thankfully much cheaper) Clamp Hardback in June? It's the full story of "Clover", I haven't read it so excited to get this one, something to break up waiting on those Berserk/Fullmetal Editions 🤣

I remember watching the anime series in Spanish, Las Guerreras Mágicas, before reading the manga.
Lucy (Hikaru), Anaís (Fuu) and Marina (Umi).
Yes, those were their names in the Spanish dub. It was one of the best fantasy anime. That and Las Aventuras de Fly are the two best fantasy anime.
