I love Mr Golson’s performance here. I’m 81 years old and will continue repeated listening. This composition was always one of my favorite jazz standards. I always loved the melody and harmony, being a wannabee guitarist. I always wondered why more musicians haven’t covered it. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed listening to Mr Golson’s soloing so much!!
I had opportunity to see Benny Golson live. Long ago, in my hometown, Saint Petersburg Russia. I think that was first time ever in my life that I was at the jazz legend concert. Unforgettable event. Golson was playing with local rhythm section, and russian trumpet player resident of NY, that was part of Art Blakey Jazz replacing the great Morgan. His name is Valery Ponomarev. Valery did great job on intro for “I remember Clifford”. It was very impressing and inspiring event for me as a young musician.
The horn's singing and the lines are flowing, he was killing it at a spritely 67. It looks like he's playing a new Selmer SA 80 here with a modern Link and a Winslow lig, whatever, beautiful playing, it sounds great.

Valery is an excellent trumpeter. I heard him a number of times when he was playing with Art Blakey.
