This video is superb, well researched and commentated, I watch a lot of basketball on youtube and Wilson is Tier 1. Something must be wrong with the algorithm content like this should have 100k views easily. Well Done.
Great research done for sure But Tim Duncan played more games at Center than Power Forward. Duncan was listed at the 4 bc he was shorter than David Robinson but he played center. So Tim Duncan was a Center not a PF
I love how Wilson goes through the prehistoric Times when making the NBA wasnt yet a reason to quit your dayjob. But how can the first dosen draft 1 picks become almost nothing? Was all the best talent taken with territorial picks? How long were territorial picks a thinh?
We will never see another position Golden Era like center between the 70s and mid 90s. Out of the 70s, Kareem, Cowens, Lanier, McAdoo, Sikma, Alvan Adams, Cartwright, Parrish, Moses, Sam Lacy, Dan Issel. Then Sampson, Hakeem, Laimbeer, Ewing, Robinson, Daugherty, Divac, Smits, Seikley. Followed up by Deke, Shaq, Zo, and finishing up with Camby and Big Z. Olowakandi is the unofficial end of the era, and now we are all excited just to have two elite centers in Embiid and Jokic and two pretty good ones in Gobert and Towns. Wow have things changed!!!
Great video! Your attention to detail is superb. Only 34% of number 1 picks have gone in the hall of fame up to this point. I mean if this was baseball that would be a great percentage.😂 But it only makes sense that most of the greatest players in history were number 1’s or nearby. Kobe(13th pick-1996) and Steph(7th pick-2009)are the only guys who are in my top 15 all time weren’t near the #1 pick in their draft but still had iconic careers.
Hopefully cade becomes a top 3 player in the league. He has the tools to be top 5 of all time all around player that can play defense. Hopefully Piston unlock his potential and build a good team and find him a 2nd star maybe Hayes, Shaddiq, or maybe if they do bad and get a top 3 pick. Dont see Pistons ever signing a superstar.
Here's a debate: Yao or Walton?? Do you go w Waltoms incredible college career, MVP, 1977 title, but he really never plays enough to have a peak? Then joins the greatest frontline in history to create a God Tier rotation of bigs that will never ever be topped, miraculously play 80 games, win 6th man and another title? Or Yao who was never elite but no less than the 2nd best center in the league at any given time, no playoff success but wildly popular, and the injuries ruin his career, sacrificing his recovery to star for his country when they hosted the China Olympics? BUT expanded the game to places and people that hadn't been fans before, created huge financial opportunities for future players, turned an entire country into NBA fans, and laid the groundwork for China to be one of the better international leagues out there?
Walton would have been a better player and arguably Top 3 in late 70s alongside Kareem and Dr. J and would have rival Jabbar. As great as Yao was he was never a Top 8 player at any point in time and one can argue Kobe Bryant just as popular in China as Yao
It’s crazy to me how people doubt that D Rose should make the HOF. He might not be a first ballot, but that dude is sure as hell a HOF. Edit : and I must add given I didn’t finish the video yet, that D Rose was definitely a Top 5 player in the league at some point. Edit 2( I know I’m annoying): I think that AI is a first tier 1st pick, but that might just be me and my 2 decade self speaking.
Jalen Rose was Not the son of jimmy walker bc jimmy walker didn't raise him. A sperm donor doesn't make a father. Jalen Rose had a better all around game but walker could score the ball

@@trippin9298 exactly, without question.
Love your work. One criticism though, you tend to mispronounce names. Great content.keep up the good work.

It's interesting how most of the drafts have busts in the top 3
I know you put Kyries name in there but deserved to have his name spoken over AD
D rose gonna be the first MVP to get a fake HOF for his potential if he didn’t get injured think about Bill Clinton
drose go be a hall of famer
player never win a championship in their prime year for each nba team
examples
melo (new year at denver)
iceman ( spurs )
nash (sun's)
Where's Anthony Edwards
Jabar Magic Lebron Bennett
jimmy walker was better than his son was
Jalen Rose was Not the son of jimmy walker bc jimmy walker didn't raise him. A sperm donor doesn't make a father. Jalen Rose had a better all around game but walker could score the ball
