Outsourcing to India and other cheap labor countries happened way before COVID too though. My job as a programmer has been outsourced twice, and the first one was already in 2010. The transition to 100% remote working during COVID just accelerated it further.
This is true; I think it wasn't as common, though. The company I've been working for for the last 4 years used to take pride in being fully USA-based; however, now, about 50-60% of our staff is based in India. =(
I really like the cinematic style of your videos-please keep it up! 👍🏽 Thank you also for your analytics; they align well with my expectations of the current job market, not just in the USA but globally. The only difference is that the wave that usually reaches Europe hasn't hit as strongly yet. Having insights into what's happening in the USA is incredibly helpful in understanding what might happen here in the near future. Благодарю ещё раз. P.S. I've been exploring Gen AI for some time now and have even created some pet projects using RAG for local companies. It's the future of data management, though here in Europe, many are barely scratching the surface and don't fully grasp its potential. But as I mentioned earlier, to rephrase slightly, "East wind is coming, Sherlock, it's coming to get you"
Ohh happy to see you here!!! You're most welcome, glad you liked it. Oh, you are much farther than most people, I just started digging into it this week... not my strongest skill so far. lol "East wind is coming, Sherlock, it's coming to get you" - I love it.
Recently I was introduced to a startup based in the US who wanted to hire software engineers from Europe because we are much cheaper. And I don't mean Serbia or some other recovering country, I mean the Nordics, Germany, The Netherlands etc.
This is very concerning...My husband works for a start-up, so we are especially vulnerable to the market change. I'm trying to adjust to the new circumstances and learn new tools, but it's not gonna happen overnight. Thank you for sharing, though; it helps me to remember that it is time to speed up lol
@@yorkaturr The issue is that I'm not originally from Europe; I come from the same country as the author of the channel. Although I’m currently living in Europe, they won't consider hiring me. Otherwise, I would go for some remote job in the USA.
@@yorkaturr The problem from US outsourcing to EU is the time difference, which is quite big in general. But for sure, engineers in Germany earn at least twice less of American engineers.
Normal interview and horing processprocess can easily detect people who put fake experience in their resume, and this nornal pricess even takes less time to do. But companies came up with dumb interview processes, its their fault they keep hiring people with fake experience, and miss out real professionals, unfortunately we professionals are victims of managers and founders not caring about their own business. But sonce we are pros, we have to come up with mew ways to sell our compitence in the field.
