Life Is Perfect Here, and It Makes Me Miserable | A Cinematic Reflection on Comfort and Belonging.
What happens when life feels perfect, yet something still feels missing? In Life Is Perfect Here, and It Makes Me Miserable, I take you on a cinematic journey of contrasts-between the comfort of my new life in Denver and the raw, chaotic energy of New York City that I call home.
Through stunning visuals and heartfelt narration, I share how Denver offers a more luxurious and comfortable lifestyle, from serene mountain views to spacious living. But as I reveal in the second half, I’m homesick for New York-a place that, despite its challenges, made me feel alive and truly at home.
This video explores the nuances of personal growth and the emotional complexities of leaving a city that shaped you. It’s a reflection on how comfort doesn’t always equate to happiness, and how a place can hold a piece of your soul.
Whether you’re navigating life transitions, exploring the art of cinematic storytelling, or simply seeking relatable reflections on belonging, this video is for you. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more cinematic vlogs on lifestyle, personal growth, and the art of filmmaking.

The 56mm has slow motors. It is fine for 'locked off' shots or manual focus but not great for autofocus. You want lenses with LTM motors for fast smooth focusing. And for video work, you're really going to want a 16-55mm range zoom lens. It's the unsexy choice but practical. Otherwise you're going to need a wide, normal, and telephoto prime set. And swapping lenses outside of controlled environments is a hassle. It's not just the lens you are changing. You'll also swap ND filters, readjust exposure, etc. Some things to also consider...most professional video work is shot at f/2.8-f4 with more shallow shots normally reserved for specific shots and...Fujifilm has a range of excellent F/2 primes which are small and excellent. Viltrox mades some great prime lenses for much cheaper prices. Their 56mm f1.4 is like 90% of the XF 56mm f1.2 for a fraction of the price. Their 13mm f1.4 is one of the best wide angles for XF. And keep your eye out for the firmware update that is coming out this month. The autofocus of the XH2S is pretty bad right now... the update is suppose to finally address the longstanding complaints with the XH2S's autofocus.

Hi, thank you so much. That is very educational; I wish you had said that to me before I got all this.=) You're right 56 was not the best choice at all; bummer for me,- I realized it after it was already purchased. I like how it does background separation, though, so I kept it...

@@Liv.Bradford It's a great photo lens. I loved mine (APD version). You're also probably going to want to get at least 1 extra battery.. And it's tempting to buy a 3rd party battery because they are so much cheaper but I highly recommend you stick with official Fujifilm batteries. It's not because 3rd party batteries don't work but on the off chance the battery is defective and expands inside your camera or your camera experiences issues while using a 3rd party battery, it normally voids your camera's warranty.

But companies came up with dumb interview processes, its their fault they keep hiring people with fake experience, and miss out real professionals, unfortunately we professionals are victims of managers and founders not caring about their own business. Thank you so very much! It is so nice to have feedback. I definitely feel your frustration regarding the job loss. But let me tell you this - you have already survived things that are not even comparable to layoffs. One key thing to carry out of this experience- "you know how to make money in the new country." You've done it once - you will do it again! As for TH-cam, I'll be truthful with you-it is challenging to speak in front of the camera, so I recommend recording 10 videos for practice, and it gets easier every time. Besides - the American audience is much more forgiving; no one is going to criticize you for your English, quite the opposite, people are usually either encouraging or silent. Also, if you need some inspiration, check out this channel @silverandsolo , this woman is my personal hero. Yes, she had different circumstances (she is American), but the same reasoning, she was laid off from her job as well. Good luck - I believe in you !!!

So, my sister's dating a SWE who works on electronic medical record software. He's based in Chicago. We were having dinner together and this topic came up. He said, "if you compare the code coming out of India with what you get here in the States at the end of the year, it's night and day. It's not even comparable." I couldn't believe the disparity was that high. I retorted that Indians are incredibly bright. They're brainiacs when it comes to STEM. He just shook his head at me, and insisted that the stuff coming out of India is going to have to ripped up at some point, and replaced with actual, quality work. I should add that I never asked about his job; he just volunteered all this information. I was just trying to be an active listener to his rant (lol). This tells me he's probably facing a lot of frustration working around all of the outsourcing going on. For context, he told me he's a DevOps guy. Personally, I like your take that we should invest in the things that actually matter in this life-our relationships. Sure, we should remain open to opportunities that may come our way, but we should be careful not to tie our personal sense of self-worth to the availability of a job. Our value is independent of whatever is going on in the market at any particular time. You had a job. Now you lost it. Aren't you still the same person? With the looming AI takeover, I think a lot of people are going to have to decouple their job from their identity, for the sake of their own mental health.

    • @Liv.Bradford
      @Liv.Bradford 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thank you for your comment; I really enjoyed reading it. In my experience, I have worked with some lazy idiots (so I totally hear what your friend said) and some very hard-working, brilliant people. I think a lot depends on whether the managers and team leads are well-organized or not. If the person in charge is doing a good job, usually the whole team delivers okay work regardless of programming school. I absolutely agree with you! Job does not define us as people; there are more important matters in life. "people are going to have to decouple their job from their identity"- this is so true! Besides, in our times, I think everyone should have a good tolerance to change. The world is changing fast, so I'll have to change my occupation 2 or 3 times... I can do that. What I can't do is turn time back and call my mother when I should've but didn't. I know I speak like an old lady, but it's true, lol

Having insights into what's happening in the USA is incredibly helpful in understanding what might happen here in the near future. Благодарю ещё раз. P.S. I've been exploring Gen AI for some time now and have even created some pet projects using RAG for local companies. It's the future of data management, though here in Europe, many are barely scratching the surface and don't fully grasp its potential. But as I mentioned earlier, to rephrase slightly, "East wind is coming, Sherlock, it's coming to get you"

Ohh happy to see you here!!! You're most welcome, glad you liked it. Oh, you are much farther than most people, I just started digging into it this week... not my strongest skill so far. lol "East wind is coming, Sherlock, it's coming to get you" - I love it.

Recently I was introduced to a startup based in the US who wanted to hire software engineers from Europe because we are much cheaper. And I don't mean Serbia or some other recovering country, I mean the Nordics, Germany, The Netherlands etc.

This is very concerning...My husband works for a start-up, so we are especially vulnerable to the market change. I'm trying to adjust to the new circumstances and learn new tools, but it's not gonna happen overnight. Thank you for sharing, though; it helps me to remember that it is time to speed up lol

@@yorkaturr The issue is that I'm not originally from Europe; I come from the same country as the author of the channel. Although I’m currently living in Europe, they won't consider hiring me. Otherwise, I would go for some remote job in the USA.

@@yorkaturr The problem from US outsourcing to EU is the time difference, which is quite big in general. But for sure, engineers in Germany earn at least twice less of American engineers.

Hey, I think it is called "Cool Revenge." You can navigate to the bottom of the video description, and there should be the name of the Artist.

That's true… I think I consume about 2000, but I'm not really counting, it is an estimation. I should keep more attention to it 🙈
