    Probably the best DIY video on TH-cam. You obviously did your homework before attempting this. Some of the other videos only mention taking off the foot pegs in one piece after they already they had lost one of the ball bearing’s. I own a 2018 SportGlide. I bought it after I dropped my 2009 CVO and found out the hard way that saddle bags and an engine guards won’t protect your torso if the design of the bike protects the engine and chrome, but not your body. The SportGlide does with the engine guards and saddle bags, but the rear crash bars allow you to ride lighter without the saddlebags, and still be protected. The SportGlide is probably the best bike for older riders, women and smaller riders, as it weighs only 700lbs with the saddlebags and mini faring, but will weigh in under 650lbs if you ride it around the city stripped down with a 1/2 tank of gas, and makes the bike easier to maneuver, but still has the Milwaukee 8 107 cu/in engine, that runs like the 114 cu/in with the stage 1&2 upgrades.

      Thanks mate. Yeah the crash guards really set the bike off in my opinion and look good paired with the front guards

    Thanks so much for the video, Rod...very informative! Mine recently dropped when the side stand faltered and while the front C/Bars worked well, my LHS Pannier suffered. It's comforting to know that I can now stop looking for a local supplier. I note that you have the same luggage rack as mine. May I ask what luggage do you use with it that works well? Thanks again, John

    Fit the RH footpeg pin the other way around please 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (e clip to the rear).
    And btw it's a 5/16 hex bit, not 5/18 lol.

    I can’t understand why Harley doesn’t make those for the rear saddlebags you’re absolutely right it’s a touring bike in a lot of ways and it certainly could use those rear saddle bag guards

    • @RidesForDays
      @RidesForDays  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I find it odd too...a missed opportunity by Harley to make a buck.

    Hi, thanks for a great video. I tried to get these bars and had no luck until I saw your video. Thank you so much. Ordered my bars last week. Can you let me know what torque values you used when tightening up the fender strut bolts and the footrest bolts, I guess I use a torque wrench for everything these days, many thanks.

    • @RidesForDays

    Do the guards interfere with the rear passengers feet using the foot pegs? Also, do you regret limiting yourself to leaving the bags on all the time. Great video. Thank you

    • @RidesForDays
      @RidesForDays  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm not limited to leaving the bags on with guards installed...they easily come off and look good either way. They also don't interfere with a passenger's feet.

    Hey Roddy great install, that was perfect I really like the idea of crash bars by the saddle bags. In my eyes better safe then sorry. If all goes well I'll be purchasing a 2023 Sport Glide. I have to get all my ducks in a roll. Great video question: what kind of seat is that you have. I looked in the description and couldn't find the name of your seat.

    can you do a wider view of the bike without the saddlebags (with bike in full frame - side/front/back). i'm curious to see what it would look like.
    With the bags i'm sure it's fine, but without the bags i think it wouldn't look as good.

    • @RidesForDays
      @RidesForDays  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It looks ok without...but your right the bike seems to look it's best as the full package...saddlebags and guards all mounted. It looks better than the touring bikes look without their saddlebags though due to the Sport Glide having the rear suspension under the seat which the touring bikes lack.
