This is what VW Canada should bring to our market vs the crossover. Can’t say that the Golf line up doesn’t sell well here! This is the exterior size of a Golf but interior room of a midsize sedan? Sounds like a winner to me.
VW needs to have this in Canada. Not everyone wants a cross over as hatches are are hot too. I would take this any day over their ID4. When it’s time to get rid of our outback or crosstek I would take this over the ID4 any day! It’s a tesla slayer.
I think this is going to be very popular. Not sure why it's not coming to NA though. Apparently the VW ID Crozz will be named the ID. 4 and it will come in a regular SUV form late next yr as a 2021 MY... man it's taking VW and all of the other OEMs a long time to bring EVs to market.
idk why the plastics need to have that fake leather pattern on them. considering the outside is a bit different, why not make the inside too? The weird giant shifter thing off the steering column is a bit odd too. Looks to be a similar size and price to the Kia Niro EV
Golf and all the VW line are generally great for interior space, they have a home market of some of the world’s tallest people. I could fit two 6’+ aka 1.9m+ fat men in my Golf, for example, would expect similar in this.
This is where the fight for the affordable EV will be won or lost by VW. Either they can dominate the compact affordable EV segment, worth almost one third of the entire global auto market, or they will lose to Tesla's coming affordable compact EV. Mal sehen.
Xactly what I was thinking while watching. VW will see the Honda and give us a higher-quality version, but in another generation and then two years later in Canada...sigh. I guess it’s Honda for me.
Zach, how do you think the ID Crozz will compare in size to this, especially the cargo area? Any hints from VW yet? A decent sized cargo space, even cx5 type size is sorely lacking from this segment.
I think these normal ev that are what an average consumer would purchase look great. Tesla may have started the revolution. But other carmakers have been making cars for years and know how to get the price down
@Robert Blackford I say more of Tesla. Many car manufacture have made ev over the year and Nissan was popular for the few that wanted one. But Tesla pushing the range of ev and the appeal of the brand have really brought a light to ev today
Денис Сидоренко nope, it’s based on the b7 passat (previous gen euro passat) while the euro passat is a b8 and based on the mqb platform (which is actually used for the new superb)
I’m not sure, once I’ve had the moving map in electronic dash (think Golf R) directly in front of me I’m not sure I’ll go back. I do love analogue gauges though.
@@acchaladka I don't dislike the fact that its electronic. I like the electronic dashes because its much more customizable and packed with features. I just think it looks really silly in this model. I wish it was actually integrated into the dash like the new Jetta GLI's
Guys it's just a golf with battery you fucked up. The original concept minus doors would of said future not this golf 8+ battery! Oh don't get me wrong love VW this does not scream future
@@Hyp3rBee Not at all. It looks like it will be around $40,000 Canadian. That's well within my price range. I just don't know if I'd want to pay $40k for a such cheap interior.
And you thought dieselgate was bad just wait until electric gate happens. People will be pissed when their actual range is alot lower than what VW estimates.
Very cheap interior, no butons, so no gloves, screens look tacked on, i prefer analouge when possible, ac heating should be physical at least, who wants to go into menus while driving. no spare tire, just fix a flat. I do like the exterior, even over the golf for the most part, and the room and space inside looks great. I do which they copied bmw and had an option for a say 3 gallon gas range extender, that could get you an extra 150 miles when engaged, and keep you from ever getting stranded and make this practicle for people who cannot charge at home or work, because of an apartment and no charger friendly parking at work.
Its just rare, but its fact...face of this car is ugly......no one can accept that this is vw design language.... My be wrong.....but its my honest reaction at a glance....Apart from that ...yet we will welcome ..bcoz we believe VW...... indian auto news is that....peoples are confused what to purchase...peole will never prefer petrol fuel bcoz. In one litre petrol car run only 10 km (practically)...one litre cost is more than dollar...other hand government is against diesel car.. .so what is next...most of customers helded purchase and waiting for electric car.....our local brand TATA and MAHINDRA introduced electric models.but we dont believe them both are cheater......worst quality car maker. . .so pl waiting for VW,HONDA,FORD,TOYOTA

The Golf does sell well in Canada, in fact, when the US stops taking the Golf, Canada will still get it.
Volkswagen's future is looking bright indeed! Can't wait for these bad boys to arrive here in Canada.

Kneerooms does not say much without knowing the height of the person sitting up front and in the back.
Imagine me sitting in the back. Am 205cm tall

Another competition for the new Honda electric

Okay great news - e golf was not a home run, this looks like the real deal BUT price will be key (Honda EV seems to be priced premium).
Thanks for the vid 🙏.
Good looking product, but dumb this isn’t coming to NorthAmerica
As cute as a button🥰
Air or Liquid managed battery pack?
Ivan Vojt liquid
For just 10% more money you could get a Tesla Model 3.
Interior is childish/cartoony. Looking forward to the Audi version
Passat is a Passat. Same size in US and EU.
Totally different car.
US passat "based" on Skoda Superb chassis. the American version is bigger than the European

From vw in America, NO Diesel NO sale!
Looks like a Toyota Previa.
Jesus, too many buttons!
meh rather have an E-Golf with more PWR and range
Interior design and material are a big disappointment; what a shame, VW decided to go with the tablet screen dashboard 👎
Such a shame. After so many years VW move volume buttons to the right side of steering wheel.
EV are still too dam expensive that why EV sales are only 5% compared to fossil cars.
More like 1-2%

Interiors looks cheap.
It's a VW so who cares. What really matters is price and range and this should nail it.
But you still couldn’t afford it tho

Egg
Why are most electric cars still ugly?
Because the only people who actually want electric vehicles are fruitcakes.
You think the Taycan or the Model S or the iPace or the etron are ugly?
The Bollinger is cool and so is the Rivian SUV.
Maybe you just don’t like hatchbacks?
Cypress Van Horn nah I’m a hatchback fan myself (I even own a gti) I actually think that the id 3 is fugly
I usually like VW, but this vehicle is so poorly designed and loaded with cheap materials
@Robert Blackford lol are you offended?
I didn't manufacture this car. My intrupetation of poorly designed is simply ugly.
@Robert Blackford oh no! i didnt use proper spelling and grammer on youtube.
im done talking to you , go find someone else to argue with
