This is the first episode they took away the mats directly before the travelator - wonder if that had something to do with them not being able to get up?
If the contenders haven't put their trainers on The Elminator, they would have grip on the travelator rather than their trainers not unless if the contenders are running low on energy.
You do know that this episode is suppose to be the real first episode for the new series of SKY1's Gladiators, but they decided to put this episode as the 7th instead because of the travelator being too slopey.
Once again the contenders shoes weren't gripping properly that's why they ended up taking them off and the travelator was brought to a complete stand still once again!
I really hope Challenge will repeat the Revival Series of Gladiators again, including all the missing episodes of this series!

Maybe they gave the contenders the wrong type of shoes, so they were struggling to get a grip on the Travelator as they were going up
