Just general advice to those who are planing to visit Oman, I would say ideal time to visit from mid november to mid february. 1 month before 1 month after is okey. Other than that summer heat is not pleasent, unless you plan to visit Salalah ( from end of July to mid september).
Good point! We were there in end of December so didn't feel the heat. :)
Good job😊
Thank you!
Τι να πει κανείς για σένα; 🙏🙏🙏 προσκυνώ 🙏
Πάντα με τον καλό λόγο.
The soup you asked about is called(عوال) AWAL (dried fish).
Thank you! I'm already googling pictures to spot it. :D
Auwal is the dried shark. However, the dish is called Maleh which means salty. Some might call it Masoorat Maleh. It can be made from dried shark or tuna. If you are into sour food, then you might like it.
@@humaidr thank you for the clarification! To be honest i can't remember any specific taste. 😕
@@THATGREEKGUY_ Well, I understand, and that maybe because the full dish isn't complete. It's not a soup that you have it separately. It goes with white rice. This isn't a usual dish that we have it in daily basis. When we crave it, we go for it. Myself I prefer it this way, white rice with some ghee on top of it, then adding the Maleh to it. As I said earlier, it has a lot of sourness. In general here in Oman we like our food to be sour and spicy to get that kick.
@@humaidr the way you describe it, sounds much more appealing. :) Hopefully will get the chance to try it properly next time we visit. Thank you for your feedback! All the best from Greece.
Do u remember name of hotel u stayed in Nizwa? Thanks for sharing this video, trip looks amazing
Thank you! It was Nima Guest House
It was great watching your videos! We are now preparing for Oman in March. Could you show me an exact place where you camped in the Jebel Shams mountains? Can a plain non-all-wheel drive car get up there? At Wadi shab, where were you able to leave the photographic equipment before the water part? Thank you in advance for the answer!
Thank you. It was more or less on this point that we turned from the dirtroad towards the cliff.
maps.app.goo.gl/We17yMowZvryz8jV9
We didn't have 4x4 but there were some flats rocks that i could drive to get closer to the cliff. If you get there, i'm sure you will find it. At Wadi Shab, i didn't have the camera with me. Only gopro which we had all the time with us. We left clothes and food next to one of the rocks. i think we left camera in the car, mostly to avoid getting it wet and not because i was afraid someone might take it.
@@THATGREEKGUY_Thank you!
Thanks for a great video! How do you afford to be away so much ?
Thank you! I just use almost all of my leave for travelling. It's not that much unfortunately. :)
Great video, how long did you spent in Nizwa to visit Nizwa and surrounding areas ?
Thank you. 2 days actually. The first day was for the goat market, the fort and the city. The next day we did a tour to the small cities and locations around. Everything was pretty close.
@@THATGREEKGUY_ thanks for your super quick answer
@@JV-xl2ko hope you go to Oman. Wonderful country.
Yes in Februari, looking forward to it@@THATGREEKGUY_
How long lasted journey from dubai to Muscat? Great video
Thank you! Took about 7-8 hours including the border crossing.
Do u know if there is poblic Transportation available or we have to rent a car?
Not sure about public transportation. In Muscat there were busses. But i think a car will help.
Good video, couldnubtell me where did u rent a car
Thank you. it was dollar.
where did you rent your car from? did you have any difficulty with the dirt roads? questions from a fellow greek!
Καλημέρα! It was from Dollar. No problem at all with dirt roads. Of course we stayed out of the ones that require a 4x4.
Could you please recommend a tour guide?
To be honest i don't know anyone. We didn't use a guide during our trip.
Wadi bani😅 there is a lots of wadies start with word bani.
In 23:00 currect name is Wadi Bani Khaled
Thank you! Will change it in timestamps and subs. :)
What month was it when you filmed this?
It was last week of December.
4:04
This is Alqurum Beach not Mutrah Beach
You are absolutely right. I can't remember how i made this mistake....
are u afraid of goats since Oman trip??:):)
Noooo. I was trained in Crete! 😁
05:10 we call it Thareed
Thank you! You mean both of them? This style of dish in general?
@@THATGREEKGUY_ Yes, Thareed is a stew mixed with flat, baked bread. Bread is cut into small pieces and soaked in a separately prepared chicken or meat stew, which is flavoured with distinguished spices. Most local dishes are made from chicken, lamb or fish. Thareed is no exception. Thareed is also called ‘Fareed’ in some parts of the country.
@@hilalalhajri2013 the most clear explanation possible. Thank you so much. Hope people will read this and learn more about the local cuisine.
@@THATGREEKGUY_ Thank you, this is a great honor for me
@@hilalalhajri2013 the honor is mine. For giving your time to help me with my question.
18:33 There was an attack. I think the plan succeeded😂🎉
Indeed! 😁

My dream is to see small turtles❤❤❤❤
You can see them in many places! :)
