- After more than a decade of obsession over granular synthesis, Robert Henke aka Monolake releases his signature Granulator for Max for Live. Get the instrument for free here: www.ableton.com/granulator
Note: The Monolake Granulator requires Ableton Live 8 and Max for Live. - เพลง
"I made the Granulator for myself already, and now it's there, so why not sharing it"
Robert you're my hero!!!
this guy is one the most unknown heroes of the world
Robert Henke always taking it to the next level
'swarm of sonic particles' - best quote ever. This is the one plug in I have sat down with for hours and hours, I have created sounds I've never heard anywhere else with this, truly wonderful.
Robert Henke you are my hero. You are giving away something during these very difficult times. Thanks
I wish he had his own tutorials. Like the most thorough tutorial series ever made. From beginner, intermediate, advanced, and master. I'd love to see how he uses his creation.
i like how he hits the cu, shows us how it works, then modulates it, then zones out, gets deep in the sound for a few seconds, then comes back to earth. awesome
This gave me back so much love for music while producing! It's such a masterpiece
I made this movie hur hur.... but seriously... I heard so many amazing sounds that afternoon my head was fried.... top respect to Mr Henke!
Lying sack of shit!!!!
ah, i love this video. three years ago i saw it for the first time and it's still inspiring...
I saw this at a show back in October, it's awesome that it's now free for max for live users! People keep thinking max is expensive, but when you consider all the amazing tools that come preloaded or through the community, it's an amazing value!!
I can watch this video once and once and once... thanks for sharing this fantastic info! 👽
Brilliant man, thank you for your generosity.
So great, I really like the granular approach to sound design and this just made my day!! Cheers mate :)
one of my favorite soft synths ever
I bought a digital sampler in 1985 and I still use it. It works very well. It is an American made product called the "Mirage" made by Ensoniq. It is a fine keyboard/sampler. I used to interface it with my Commodore 64 and create all kinds of music on the cheap. I miss those days when it was easy to program your computer and your keyboard. It has an on-board sequencer as well, however I didn't use it much because I used the Commodore as the sequencer. I had a 32 track studio by Passport Designs.
Thank you for ableton and sharing your tools with us! Impressive Tool
Awesome! I can't wait to finish work and go and play with this instrument!
incredible creation thank you
Absolutely marvelous !!
so great... thank you Robert Henke!!!!
Many thanks Monolake. Very well designed instrument. I'm new to Max, but now I'm sold (Reaktor user)
Robert Henke is good people! Thanks for sharing!
Das ist sehr cool! Danke, Robert!
Oh I Love Robert's Music and ideas
Sounds freakin cool ... esp. that part without a reverb which sounds like having one. Pretty mindblowing...
absolutely genious!
That is other-worldly! Amazing stuff ^_^
Awesome job!
thank you! sounds good!
a swarm of sonic particles ....i love the way he talks dirty
thanks Monolake for the granulator 2, awesome possibilities!
this looks sweet!
love those sounds :)
It is a great tool! Thanks!
Nice, love how it evolves and mutates subtly. Just add a resonator after that and you'll really have some unique textures
I'm blown away..
Found "Gravity" yesterday in a used cd shop! ; )
The man himself !
Just unliket your comment to like it again
The Granulator is amazing.
amazing
so good
Amazing! I tried this using a Corning Ware percolator. Take out the coffee holder, but leave it on the stem. Tap it with a wooden spoon. Totally wild sounds. So happy to have got MFL free this summer. Yes, eating is a problem these days, but at least I can go granular.
Very cool!
really inspirational for Pad sounds
Im in lovee of that granulator is so powerfull
@AppA appa definitely robert is very open minded about sharing, he is sharing with us his simplicity of a great software which is ableton live also.
please do more on the granulator!!! still figuring out its mysteries...
Genius!
what a beast !
This is awesome! I love granular synthesis, but in the past I've had to resample from a third party program called "PaulStretch", which was terrible… Now you can do it within Live!
wow... knowledge right here
Dope!
Danke 🙏
Genius
Sei un grande
@TheKekelol Just about the best philosophy one could have about software :)
It's an Earthworks mic.
Thx master
still love i!!
@atabeylive thats what i was saying.. you have to pay first, then you have to pay some more to get the vst.. thats selling, not sharing...
@JAHZILLABEATS
This quote comes from Abletons face book page - by Robert Henke:
"...that's my beloved Earth Works mic, but as a source for granulator often enough the built in mic of my notebook is just fine ;-)"
Man, this is great! If only I could do this sort of stuff with my Modular G2... Unfortunately, it doesn't do sampling (that I'm aware of). Let's get Max for Live, then!
@marinbareta yah but the thing is I bought ableton suite 8 when max for live still was not out and when it came out like a year later I wanted to get max for live, but it was out of my league but now if you buy suite 8 you get it for free.
I used it when I had Live 8
@atabeylive i know but, they fucking way he does it is so amazing.
@ANGELO13111 believe it you have no idea what you could get out of any sounds that you listen every day. and you could use sampler or simpler to do some very interesting pads and bass pad sounds at the same time metalic glass sounds.
genial!
@realtimespacelab he is using an earthworks audio mic
i love ableton
I want it! :)
genius!
I think Camel Audio's Alchemy has a granular synthesis function. Check that out.
this is so fucking fascinating
This is fucking genius
@ANGELO13111 angelo believe it, thats how genius this guy is.
Yeah, I'm really curious about that mic. Hoping someone can shed some light on what it is.
On the M4L page there are 6 other devices you can get and i can't help wonder if those authors aren't feeling a bit down right now. Not talking negative about the other stuff here (haven't even tried those) but what could possibly top or even match this? ;-) Really cool instrument /and/ effect!
Is there anybody out there that can help me with this amazing tool? Whenever I'm working with it there's ALWAYS a clicking noise whenever I granulise. It seems it doesn't matter how I set the attack, velocity, amount of voices or anything it keeps making an annoying click noise. I read online some others have the same problem without a solution.. I'm on Live 9.7.5 on Mac.
@zn3ss easy make a track with the granulator woo Love Robert Henke.
What is the name of the microphone Monolake is using ?
BTW Great Synth/Sampler
@zn3ss Dine on delicious slices of synthesis.
the evolution of drone
I had to pirate an old version because it was telling me it was the wrong version. That doesn't strike me as something that works.
COOL! I mean… both the software and the user ;-)
@marinbareta if you get the suit your getting max for live for free thats a bargain I pay more than 500 bucks for ableton live suite without max and I got a 30 percent off because I told them that I wanted max for live and they gave me max for 30 percent off the base price so I bought it.
holy fucking shit, when he applies that noise envelope......
very cool! what kind of microphone is that?
@EKAMITV or better to say a mic from earthworks but cant see which exactly
Did Dog Blood use this in the drop for BREAK LAW?
wow
thats fucking insane. ALL THAT FROM A FUCKING GLASS OF WATER?!!?! i dont believe it.
top
The mic looks like an Earthworks one, but I could be wrong about that.
I can't use it with Ableton 8 and Max for Live
the irony of course is that Ableton's presets have become so good, many of these sounds can be had very swiftly without granular synthesis! still and all some great sounds.
What kind of microphones is he using?
💚😄
Is this same as transwaves from ensoniq like in asr-10?
I made the granulator for me anyway and, now its there, why not sharing it?
