At 13:30 you can see why Milak doesn't kick on his first stroke off the wall: his first stroke is really like a breaststroke pulldown but with his arms recovering over the water rather than under his body. During this pulldown, his legs stay straight to reduce drag, then his first kick happens as the hands enter after the first stroke.
Same problem like mine. We just lack flexibility. You need to undulate in the recovery to keep the momentum. Your body stalls because of that. With fins the problem dissapears because it lets you cheat the problem
Hmm, must have missed this one. I have always likened the power part of the dolphin kick to be like hanging a plastic or metal ruler off the edge of a table or desk and giving it a twang. The tension you need for a powerful dolphin kick should resemble spring steel going both up and down. Also of note is how every one turns their feet in/pigeon toed. This makes for a better surface for propulsion and gives those of us with stiff ankles a bit more toe point. Oh, forgot, old school used to teach that on the recovery you entered with hands wide and did a big hour glass type of pull. I guess the reasoning was that a longer pull would make for a faster stroke. Some still teach to enter narrow now, and sweep out, then back in almost touching fingers at the middle of the pull, then sweeping out a bit to clear the hips. In watching the last Olympics, it seemed that some sweep out and some don't.
"Butt up" is a very helpful cue imo. Makes a big difference when applying it. Also, I remember a Stuart Kahn article in USMS magazine some 10-15 yrs ago saying that for lower level swimmers, breathing every 2 is better than breathing every stroke in fly. I forget what his rationale was. Any opinion on that?
Hi fares, I am big fan of your channel and I am noticed that one kick creates splash whilst other is under water.Which kick should be making splash one where arms are coming out of water or one where arms are entering?
Very importante video..thanks. i am 60 years old AND enjoy practicing AND learning buterfly stroke.

Milak✌️✌️👑
I'm learning butterfly. I'm dead by the time I reach 25m mark, flying. My upper body stalls while taking breath. With fins, I feel comfortable

Wow this was so helpful thank you 😊

The kick as your arms enter come out the water slightly but the kick as your arms exit dont break the surface
@@xtr4me_abu185 I will try and work on that, thank you for replying 😁
