    That was quite a series of obstacles with having to walking there, starting on the wrong ferry, nearly missing the right one and having shower drainage problems for a very short trip. Your appetite amazes me still. Thanks for all you do to show us travel opportunities in Japan. Happy New Year to you as well!

    I wish the USA had the same type of Ferry travel. Here, we have automobiles and, possibly a train, depending on your location. Japan is so clean, quiet and travel looks safe. It is nothing like that in the USA.

    Happy New Yearr! I was wondering how everyone in Japan was coping with the snow and weather. I hope you stay warm too! You need a parka and moon boots for that early morning walk to the ferry! WOW! I would never have made it! Thank you for taking us with you and making us laugh and smile many times! Blessings and good fortune to you and your family and Happy New Year!

    The bath drain might not have been clogged- sometimes in bathrooms with a shower over the bath there is a button you push for either bath or shower. The shower setting opens the drain, and the bath setting closes it like a plug. I had a similar experience my first time in a fancy hotel room when I was young! Maybe check that next time. Cool video- I've become hooked on these videos recently! "-)

    Bonjour👋 Travelgeek, ce n'était pas votre journée plus d'une heure de marche dans le froid pour rejoindre le port. Arrivée sur les lieux, pas le bon ferry 🥹. Ouf, mais au moins, vous avez atterri dans une suite confortablé, au chaud et joué à cache-cache après les effets pour le bain et les vêtements pour coucher 😁. Un petit dîner avec glace en dessert (petit gourmand😄) et au dodo 😴. Mais quelle péripétie cette journée😊. Je vous souhaite bon courage pour votre travail et surtout ne changeait pas, je vous adore 😊 à bientôt. Meilleurs vœux à vous et vos proches avec un peu d'avance.

      You know the video producers always never get this.. I knew what it was for at first glance.. although I was in the Navy, we were lucky enough to not need such a device.. A aircraft carrier is a floating city/airport.. although most do not fly off the carrier except for medical needs, it's defense flights mostly, but people do get excited watching the flight deck on the monitors we had 40 years ago, it showed the plane mail come in on. What we hated most, was the on-rep, underway replenishment, you formed a chain of people who passed new stock from person to person until it was appropriately stored, nothing stopped moving to move again. 60# containers of milk were brutal, trying to move the rough plastic shell, without the removable door coming off and splat, the milk is all over the deck, and YOU 😔

    • @Stache987
      @Stache987 ปีที่แล้ว

      I visited Chicago by plane from Texas, before descent I felt my arthritis kicking in, hadn't brought any meds for it, as we landed, it was snowing all night, and I hadn't known, I camped out at the airport for an early flight. I stayed with a paralegal and was out walking in the snow and fell, I told him, and he said in Chicago you can be ticketed for not shoveling the sidewalks on your property, although if someone injures themselves you could be sued, only if you shoveled. Talk about catch-22, so most people took the ticket option, I don't recall if the city does it for you and attaches a lien to the property for snow removal expenses, I'm sure if they did, it would be very expensive regardless of the true cost.

    • @egg-roll8968
      @egg-roll8968 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Stache987 I'm sure you could sue in either condition, but usually not worth it unless you are actually injured like broken bone etc, just the question of who to sue (Chicago for incompetence in not fining and enforcement, or owners for failing to maintain aka neglect via rather risking a fine), here in Ontario (I know not the USA) you're legally required to maintain the sidewalk in winter and keep it safe and clear including your vehicles all year round. Basically puts all liability on the homeowner, unless the sidewalk is damaged then that's on them to fix. Sure the municipality typically gets around to it, but I've caught them locally driving on the road more times than the sidewalks esp when the sidewalks need them, and ticketing esp where I live now is non-existent...

    All those leather swivel chairs in the foyer and in your room are called "SWAN" chairs and are quite famous.they were designed by a famous mid century furniture designer Arne Jacobsen of Denmark. I don't know how old that ferry is but if it is over 20+ years of age, these chairs could be original and they could sell for over $1000+ per chair !!!!!

    フェリーの食事やお風呂も重要ですよね。ここは4時間くらいの航程なのであまりゆっくりも出来ないですけどね。
    津軽海峡フェリーの方が旅客を重視して設計されてるので、青函フェリーより快適なはずです。函館の着岸位置が少し遠いのが難点ですが。
    Wi-Fiはあんな感じでしょうね。衛星を使った通信とかもあるんでしょうけど、そもそも船って動いてるので、アンテナも
    固定出来ませんしね。携帯電波の範囲外に出るとアウトですね。その点津軽海峡フェリーはまだマシなレベルなのかと。

    Also, I don't understand why hotels insist on tucking in the sheets... Do people really prefer to sleep as though they are in a sleeping bag each night?
