I think it's an amazing trip. From the rain in the beginning giving it a nice atmosphere to the kitty, to the piano at the station and the mandarin oranges on the train.... not to mention all the nice food which the staff provided. I actually felt at the end, when you were having dinner, that it was truly the end of the trip - like I was the one who experienced it all! It's because of the wonderful way that you make your videos which makes us feel like you are bringing us along.
Not to mention I realized that your English subtitles are different than the Japanese subtitles (not an exact translation). I'm having fun to read them both! It's a great way to learn Japanese. What a fun trip! Thank you for showing me the trains in Japan. I have a fascination with trains. Sadly, the railway in the US is underfunded, high amount of accidents and derailments. The most recent rail derailments spilled toxic chemicals out.
The cleanliness, efficiency and hospitality is so fun to see. I understand every country has its problems but I am amazed at how safe your travels appear.
I enjoy train travel, when I have travelled outside the US, I like to ride either a train/ metro when I visit places :)

JR West did a great job converting that old commuter train. Lots of interesting contrasts on the journey, the stretches right beside the ocean, the quiet peaceful small towns and villages and the busy cities of Osaka and Kyoto. Delicious meals as always. Even the rain didn't spoil it. A very relaxing video, thanks for sharing!

0:58 I have noticed that most Japanese rails travel along coastlines instead of burrowing holes through mountains to create shorter routes. But I think rail companies do not do that out of respect for nature than costs.
8:25 "Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi" is a classic. Have you visited the Ghibli theme park in Aichi?
11:49 Not even bad weather can dampen their hospitality.
11:58 Is the stop over for something technical on the train or is it for the benefit of local tourism?

I always love the bento boxes!
Eleven hours for 315 km is a long time, but I think it's good for people traveling for holidays/recreation. You get some stops too along the way. The interior of the train is very nice and unique too!
