Another great video. I don’t understand why I have to wade through so much mediocre TH-camr-wannabe content before I can find the good stuff. You do make people’s life easier!

One of the reasons I started my chanel was I purchased thousands of dollars of lights based on lots of reviews that said they were great, the lights were crap. I couldn't believe how wrong the reviews were.

The one thumbs down is probably from The Republic of Korea. ;)

10:16 Hey Andrew, the “prototyping” phase you went through...could I clarify what that process looked like? Did you have a version made but later realised it didn’t work right and then ordered a second version with revised changes?
Also, noticed that the cells close to the edges are smaller than those in between... are there any practical implications or benefits even for having them as such?

I made initial measurements and sent photos off for the first unit to be made. The problem I had was light leaking out between the light and the diffusion on the light. So on the second generation of snap grid had a sleeve added to cover this light leak.
2nd point, if the cell distribution is not even top to bottom and side to side you don't get an evenly formed beam. For example if you light an actor against a wall they may be in an egg shaped light instead of a circle.

im having trouble deciding which beam angle of egg crate to get for some of my heads. Is there a go to angle that you stick with when putting on a snap grid to control your lights?

Does anyone know if Andrei is still active? I’m in desperate need of 2 light grids for the Manfrotto Skylite Rapid 2m x 2m but DOP choice is £950

Thanks for the advice! What frames are you using? Any chance to buy a finished design for a existing frame? I dont mind to make a frame but there might already great option.
