My Marantz integrated amp experience was short lived. In 1979 while receiver shopping at Tech Hifi (12 W45th St. NYC) I purchased a Hitachi SR-804 (I still use this receiver) and paid cash. I was told there'd be a few days delay before the store got my receiver. As that turned into a week I complained to the store manager and he let me borrow a similarly powered unit as a "loaner", at least until my SR-804 came in. I picked a 45wpc Marantz 1090 and got to use it almost three weeks. My only fear was that I'd like the 1090 better. Not so, the SR-804 still performs swell. But it was boss playin' with that 1090.
I had marantz console amp which looked identical to this but was a 30w per channel class A integrated amplifier which I paid £120 for in 1981. I still have it in its original box and it is till one of the bestvpurchases I have ever made
I think that volume control is marked as an attenuator.....anything less than full volume, is shown as a negative on the knob. The excessive woofer motion is called "rumble" when seen with phono use. I've seen woofers do things I wouldn't think possible without a subsonic filter!

Tanks
Peaking I think was the term you were looking for. Or Distortion. Total Harmonic Distortion.
Not a 1060. The 1060 had a mid-range control and mic inputs, among other things.
Right... the one he's showing is a 1060b
