Probably not the drain is on the bottom. They sell some for that window style.

If its set on a/c and not on fan then it sounds like its bad. You may have to take it back.

What is the coolest setting? Do you have to use fan?
Theres a fan setting then A/C low or high. The only way you should need a fan is if youre trying to cool multiple rooms.
