Knowing how to do a installation of a window ac unit can help you to quickly cool your house down. Some people may already have a central air-conditioning system in their home and perhaps it is broken and needs to be fixed but they still may want their house to be cool down quickly some people may just have homes they have no central air conditioning in them. Air-conditioning units that can fit in a window are great. Window AC units are cheap in many cases, and can be installed very quickly and should in many cases be able to be bought at Home Depot Walmart perhaps Lowe’s maybe Amazon. I installed this air-conditioner better than other people because I used the expanding foam and the expanding Foam helps to keep out bugs that might want to come in and it helps to seal the window air-conditioning unit in the window better and also helps to keep the room colder, and the house colder. Some window air-conditioning units may come with heat and some may just have air-conditioning, and a fan The small window air conditioner that I bought does not come with the heater It can make air-conditioning and has a fan. This how to video is the installation guide on how to put in a air-conditioning unit however for different types of air conditioning window units it may be different and the windows may be different as well so even though this how to video can be treated as a guide, you may need to do things that are different. Please only do this if you are capable of doing this and can safely do this please do so at your own risk. I have had the air-conditioning unit running and this air-conditioning unit is amazing, it doesn’t blow a lot of cold air as it is a small unit but it still works amazing and I am very happy with it. Kendall, I'm 74 yrs old and never put in a Window AC unit. I just bought a midea 5000 but 35 lb weight unit. Manual did not show what the 3 slots on each side of the main unit were for but you explained it perfectly! I was gonna pay 75$ to have the unit installed but ended up doing it myself! Took me about 3 hrs (Bad Window) but it's in and working well! Thanks much! David N.
I am 56 and it took me four hours this morning. I had to take the old one out which was a little problematic. I do this about once every eight years. Anyway I cannibalized the old one for spare parts should I ever need them.

Hey Kendall I'm a 70 year old woman and I have to do everything myself because I don't have anyone to help me. I just ordered a window unit and will have to install it myself but I'm sure I can. This unit will be for my small bedroom but I'm going to order another unit for my living room. I hope it doesn't fall out of the window.

What I'm going to do when my window unit arrives is put in a screw on each side of my window on top once the unit is in and the window is pushed down to meet the unit. No one will be able to lift the window. I had to do this to my computer room windows because for some reason they won't lock even though the locks are there.

TIP: immediately after unboxing, and before installing the other parts, plug it in and let it run for 5 or 10 minutes to make sure it actually works. This way if you have to take it back to the store, you don't have a lot of pieces to take back off and repack. I learned this the hard way.

Looked like a tiny unit prob 5000 or 6000 BTUs. which is good for a 10X12 or 12X12 room

I did all that , but underneath dont sit perfect in tne window, it left too much space at the bottom.
I used window sash seal foam underneath
You didn’t prepare yourself for this job. Need a scissor instead of a knife. Tissue instead of your hand. Clearing your area and much more
