    I know this sounds trivial, but Femke, you are bringing the right things to the Product Design world. Especially for the newer folks and people who want to become a Product Designer. You burst the bubble of "I am here to build UI, right?". This is something, someone should have told me 6 years ago. You speed up the process for everyone and bring valuable insights and state of the art working. Thank you!

    I started studying product design this year, I’ve been a programmer for quite a few years and I often see a lot of beginner videos about programming thinking “I wonder who are watching these, are they really digesting the information?” So here I am on the other side now, keep the channel growing

    This is amazing. I've been in product design for 15+ years. People ask me why I don't do videos like this.... I think people like you is the reason. You do it so well already .... I'm learning too. this one in particular was very helpful. thanks and keep inspiring with all this hard work.

    Thanks, Femke! I found this really useful. Often the documentation is separate in another system, like Confluence, and decision decks in other's PPTs, but having it all (or at least the important highlights) in one place is super handy. Love it!

    This the most useful and detailed working template I've ever see. Much appreciated it that you share this treasure. If you mind talking about responsive design in detail about using the grid system and how to adopt design into cross-platform, especially web apps, for example, how a web app dashboard design converts into a mobile? This's quite a difficult barrier.

    Wow, thank you so much for this video!! Amazing how this video came at just the perfect moment when I was wondering about this! I'm a UXD student, so I'm just getting used to all these tools we have to create and communicate! All the examples and ways you use these two tools are super helpful. I have never thought about using Figma for a ppt, and now that you mention it, it seems so obvious! Great content, love it!!!

    Add design system under design section and you have a complete design project. Also I find that making each section its own page on figma makes navigating so much easier when you have so many slides.

    This is terrific. Thanks Femke. It's been watching your channel that has inspired me to dust off my creativity - I'm loving Webflow and now also do all my design and planning in Figma. I know there are other planning apps (Whimsical/ Miro) out there - but with Figma I can get it to look right - and when it looks right it feels right, yes? You're a constant source of inspiration. Thanks from across the pond in Leeds, UK.

    Hi Femke! Is there any way you could do a video explaining how you set up the presentation slide with the phone on it and made the masked screen scrollable? I downloaded the copy of the design-deck and want to do this with the Macbook screen and my desktop view of a site design but I cannot get it to work. I have looked for other videos and recreating it and it does not work. I have the website page set to vertical scroll - but whenever it's masked into the screen of the macbook - it does not scroll in the preview and I am racking my brain lol love your videos!

    Question to @Femke, there might be something missing in the template. I usually include summative research ex.usability testing results related to the design. These usually follow the design and give an assessment of it's usability and might include metrics like TOT, task success rate... And Sus..

    Wow!!! 🤩 Really thorough documentation presentation, @femke. Just wondering why the research and discovery slide didn't come before or after the user persona. Shouldn't they (R&D) come from insights gotten from interviews with users?

    • @femkedesign
      @femkedesign  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this is because in my use case we don't define new personas for each project or based on project-specific research, but rather we have existing user archetypes that are pre-defined based on past research and product market fit.

    One question I've been mauling over and maybe you can help - When working on big apps with A LOT of moving parts, how do you structure your Figma/Sketch? Our app is so vast that I've started splitting up the sections in different sketch files but then you kind of lose the Design System artboard OR you have to copy it over to each individual sketch file. How do you tackle that?

    I'm trying to do the scrolling phone on the iPhone mockup and I don't seem to make it work. My take is that it might be because the mask is a literal mask (not as on the Android, where the "mask" is just a frame with round corners.
    If someone figured it out that'd be great.

    Sorry if this has been asked, but what is the difference between a design doc vs a case study?

    • @femkedesign
      @femkedesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Design deck is more like internal shareout of the project and context. A case study is more of an end to end presentation of the entire project.
