It’s funny how everything comes full circle. In the original DS 1, claymore is also considered the most “honest” good weapon in the game, and Murakumo, the best curved greatsword, is considered the most brain dead top tier weapon. Thanks for posting, cool video!
Love the claymore been maining it on my low level build I’ll have to try it with sword dance but I mainly use imp thrust and piercing fang. The imp thrust into fast r2 also happens on the straight swords with an r2 poke too. Shield bash stun can be long enough to swap off to the poke ashes as well
this one is a bit unrelated in regards to pvp but, I always liked the idea the claymore was specifically made to be used by Redmaine knights rather than the regular copy paste night's Greatsword they use and that's because the default ash of wat for the Claymore is Lions Claw which is they skill they use when fighting.
i remember 1 time i was doing a minimal bonfire, taunters tongue run, i summoned 2 sun bros who were also using the claymore. We killed *everything* in leyndell with crouch pokes & r2s. Invaders, basic enemies, mini bosses, goldfrey, it was groodalicious
Thanks for making this. It frustrated me out of my mind how people make claymores work so well thay I gave up on it. This makes me wanna try again and I havent even finished the video yet lol
Catch Flame and Carrian Slicer are also great to use when enemys are weak. Flaming Strike on a flame art Claymore is a very solid Ash to use alongside catchflame and Pyro Incants.
Thank you, man! It's definitely the most braindead, just not as strong as pss. But then again, we are comparing different colors of shit, so screw both of them.
Ive been liking Occult Claymore on Arcane with poison mist with Kindred of Rot and Spear Talisman. Poison Mist is a decent roll catch and if you can get a counter hit R2 with Kindred of Rot procced you get some silly damage.
Good r2, decent damage, good enough attack pattern, gets good ashes of war, hyperamour... and that is pretty much it. The biggest cons will be: range, enemies being able to force you into passive play, decent damage is quite often not enough sadly. The weird middle of the way problem: this weapon benefits way too much from enemy error and misplay. Sometimes it does feel like what you did was meaningless as you just pressed r1 with hyperarmour and won lmao
@@leonardo9259 You'd think that. You really would. But hyperarmour is not made equal on weapons. There are some that can be just DUMB at times, but others will fail you at the worst of times lol. Shunter poke is a prime example. It can tank idiotic levels of poise damage. On the other hand it is a just a great spear and all the other attack it has, including powerstanced ones can literally sabotage entire fights lol.
BRO I was just watching the "future of the channel video" this second and you just mention the claymore video "in a couple weeks" at the 3:50 mark and i look over and i see this video released just an hour ago anyway just funny but yeah claymore is bae
It got buffed, was pretty alright before. True combos on top of it dont make me feel like im using an underdog weapon anymore but you can definitely turn it braindead with some aows
i love kgs and serpent hunter but i really do think the hyper armor does need a Nerf. I do think serpent hunter is a bit brain dead but kgs i really do not think it is that brain dead.
I can summarize this video in: gitgud, learn how to play elden ring. Footage: backstabs, backstabs, backstep backstabs, true combo, R2, R2, R2!!!!!! good weapon arts, good positioning, good priority usage, good hyperarmor usage, WaVe dAShiNG, attack/animation blending moving like a fish against the strong sea currents, LEARN HOW TO BAE MOREEEEEE!!! Seriously, is fun. What, you can't do it? Noob, learn how to play Random noob who tries to backstep backstab:

The reason to use the Claymore you ask? It’s cool. Use it because it’s cool.

impaling thrust works with any attack of any type, but certainly works pretty well with weapons with good poke R2.

If you crouch spin in neutral it can be blended with running R2 since it spins before attacking.
baemore my beloved
You know what the best part of waiting for the Claymore video for a long time? The thumbnail 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 Looks Amazing
Thank you! I've been biting my nails, waiting to show it for like 2 months lmao
Facts!
Thanks for making this. It frustrated me out of my mind how people make claymores work so well thay I gave up on it. This makes me wanna try again and I havent even finished the video yet lol
Clay the Claymore's drip is indeed fantastic

@SgtJager00 uh oh I've been recognized 🤯
2:30 WTFFF
my favourite part was when he said it's jurgen time and jurged all over the place
Finally... Baemore ❤
Also @2:30
Just came across this channel. Great video, sir! 0:16 would you say that 2H CGS is as braindead as (or even more than) dual spears?
Thank you, man! It's definitely the most braindead, just not as strong as pss. But then again, we are comparing different colors of shit, so screw both of them.
@@SgtJager00 Ah gotcha, lol
Man these videos are awesome, im new to pvp so they help a ton.
The video I've been waiting for. Favorite weapon from the favorite ER youtuber is here boys

I'm gonna try that

That's just hyperarmor weapons lmao

Aiming for the FEET?! 🦶🦶🦶👀👀👀
Very comfy weapon, been my favorite in the series so far. Great video!
Amazing work once again, Mr. Jager
Thanks man!
That thumbnail got me tumescent
BRO

anyway just funny but yeah claymore is bae
Rail, next question
this thing is best used like a zwei with a slightly faster neutral and running r1 chain, as well as more root motion on the r2s.
Excellent video, Sarge.
Thank you
Why are curved greatswords considered braindead when compared to the other great weapons?
It got buffed, was pretty alright before. True combos on top of it dont make me feel like im using an underdog weapon anymore but you can definitely turn it braindead with some aows
It is here and it is glorious!
Sgt, what control scheme do you use? Default?
I swapped jump and crouch, normal otherwise
Great guide thank u
If its something fromsoft loves its greatswords and katanas.
True
Thanks this is incredible
11:00 I don't think regular greatswords can get waves of darkness can they?
hes talking about sidearms, greatswords arent a stormhawk axe either.
@@BIGD0Gxl well not with that attitude they aren't
@@pitshoster401 :/
if kgs r1s are better tham claymore r1s, why was the claymore comsidered better than the hollowslayer?
Because ds3 isn't elden ring. Almost everything is different between ds3 greatswords and elden ring greatswords
Quality build video when?
Happening :)
Great video jurgen 2 months of work paid off
Thank you
Claymore is a Classic Weapon
Who wouldn't love
The good Old Claymore 😅
loved this one
I use claymore and yeah, had a hard time finishing moon veil magic caster roll away indefinitely type of player...
i love kgs and serpent hunter but i really do think the hyper armor does need a Nerf. I do think serpent hunter is a bit brain dead but kgs i really do not think it is that brain dead.
“Shamshir” 😂 gold
I would argue the most humble weapon is simple short sword
Single straight swords indeed so bad they are honest
@@leonardo9259 it’s a shame that they suck so much compared to dual wield. I just want to play sword and board like a true knight
🗣️🔥 WE BECOMING DS3 JEENINE WITH THIS ONE 🔥🗣️
Even OP believes that spell spam is less brain dead.

Nice video
0:34 Easy, because you get Clay and then you get more 🙃
Greataxe!
Just bring back Square Off for it
you need more view
Hello jaggy ^-^
I’m not gonna lie I use storm stomp claymore that thang brain dead asf I use kgs when I want a challenge when invading idk what you’re smoking😂
the issue likely lies not with in the claymore, but in storm stomp.
