TVV files are a variant of the MPEG-4 format developed specifically for use with 'TV-Now' and 'Vugo' media players developed by Hasbro-Tiger electronics so i would think vlc should play them

    • @bryceschug486
      @bryceschug486 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Or MPV, I use SMplayer as a frontend. Used to use VLC but one of the lead devs has a somewhat bigoted view on frame interpolation (he's one of those guys who genuinely looks down on you if you like high framerate video for any reason) and VLC has longtime performance issues anyway if you are nitpicky about frame pacing. Never ran into anything I couldn't play with SMplayer.

So I actually bought one of those when it came out, I was 11. The commercials made it look a lot cooler than it was, they showed better quality video and kind of marketed it as being able to play video/music and hold pictures at a time when mp3 players mostly just held music. The 5th gen ipod which was the first video ipod only came out like a month before it and costed like twice as much. They also had some kind of online store where you could buy episodes of certain shows directly. Basically i had it for about 2 hours before trying to record something off my tv when it made that grinding sound and the screen went completely blank and wouldn't display anything the rest of the night. Total piece of junk, my dad took me to target the next day to return and I spent the money on a gameboy micro instead.

My thought on that weird tablet computer was it was some sort of proof of concept prototype thing.
"Look it doesn't need a keyboard, it's called a tablet."

Ben, please... I have an old Furby (Gremlin's® Gizmo edition)(I must also forward this story by saying that this was a better time, about after that first Austin Power's movie released)
Anywho... Back when I was a lil' Sandman, my dear mum got me one of those newfangled Furby toys for x-mas (albeit, I wasn't really interested in them then, but afterwards, my interest piqued considerably)... At the time, I thought it was just a cute novelty toy, and I showed it off to a friend of mine. He thought it was pretty cool, so he asked to borrow it for a while, which I allowed, cause he was a bro...
I got it back a few days later, and was just playing around with it... I 'pet' it's back, and I immediately heard it say, 'YEEAAAH BABY'... (a common phrase, from the Austin Power's craze I mentioned before, a phrase he said quite a bit back in that day)
Now, the very first thing I asked myself was,'wtf was he doing with my Gizmo?!'... Afterwards, I realized that there may be a form of early AI here...
Just let me know if you have an episode idea based on that, because I remember there being a bit of controversy revolving around Furbys being used as recording devices, or something rediculous... I'd be happy to help.

Man, the first wave of Ben Atari portables looked way better than this unit inside and out.

Sounded like you had the video signal connected to the audio input. There is no standardization on the AV pinouts for these stupid things. Sounded like composite video into an audio amp.

Around 2004 there were those "MP4 players" trying to copy the iPod. They were below 50$ and had a generic Chinese media chip that was based on Z80. The video format was one where each frame was an entire image, possibly not even RLE-compressed. Just wanted to say that, on paper, this looks so much more advanced, but it somehow manages to be even worse.

Your recording device of choice seems to be angled incorrectly.
Referencing the shape of your desk pad, the lines look like \ / , when it should be | | or better yet / \ .

I remember back in the early 00' they had digital recorder type things where you could use SD cards to record shows off of TV.
It wasn't that expensive but SD cards of course were and I think the maximum size at the time was maybe 4GB and of course the best you could hope for was 640X480
I think 480p but it could have only been 480i. Either way back in those days when the internet was still pretty crap and expensive and downloading things was pretty much P2P or nothing it was a good products though it wouldn't be long before it was taken over by smartphones.

So funny that you found one of these, I just found my old one the other day and wanted to get the video off it but can't find ANYTHING that can play those .tvv files. You wouldn't happen to know what might play them would you? I got this thing in like 07 or 08 and used it to record ps2 footage.
