    I bought basically the first run of these off the line back in early 2020. Mark is a nice dude and very helpful. I live about 40 miles away from his machine shop, and he let me come by and he showed me the entire manufacturing process from start to finish. He also was very helpful when I had an issue with hydraulic fluid leak, which apparently was an issue in the very early designs.
    I have never had any issues with quick responses. And he is basically a one man shop who does everything himself, so that’s pretty impressive.
    He used to do work on custom Porsche race cars I believe, so his attention to detail is quite high.

    Hi, Will. In response to your concern about the linear pots:
    I have a set of the previous pedals, the PRX, that I bought used. I'm not sure what stresses the previous owner put them under, but one of my pots actually were ruptured, and it caused a localized short. However, replacing the potentiometer was as easy as putting a sticker on a lego set, as the potentiometer is literally just an adhesive strip with wire attached. You can buy them yourself for less than 10 bucks. Since replacing the potentiometer, I've put in hundreds of hours of track time over the past 2 years, with no wear on the pots at all. I imagine the rolling of the ball bearing will do nothing but improve the reliability of the sensor that I already am super happy with.

    Excellent review! I have a set myself and love them. Reliability has been flawless. I found that a bit of Vaseline really helped smooth out the clutch pedal. The machining is top notch and they're obviously super expensive but I feel like you really do get what you pay for given all the custom work and thought put into the design. Being able to invert the brake is awesome, and is in fact what I ended up doing to great effect. My brake pedal used to be a bit notchy when slowly lifting, but after 14 months of ownership and admittedly somewhat inconsistent use, it feels really smooth now when lifting off.
    I also put some M6 18mm fender washers inside of the plastic spring cap on the clutch pedal to add a little extra preload to the spring (I'm already using the heaviest spring), and it made the clutch action feel a little more realistic compared to the few track cars I've driven IRL, especially with the inverted clutch pedal. I did the same with the throttle pedal, though I'm using a lighter spring in the first place, I just don't want to buy the spring kit haha.
    These always seemed to not get enough attention online (not even Barry has a review) so it's nice to see a proper review from a bigger channel. I think they're quite underrated, I see about a hundred sets of Ultimates for each set of JBVs online haha. (Not to say the Ultimates are bad, ofc, but just look at the JBVs!)

    I really love these reviews, even they are a bit on the long side, I do appreciate the deep going review and details of it.
    There are so many factors to conside when buying new pedals it's hard for consumers to know what fits then needs without testing them.
    Keep up to nice work Will! Any chance you wil be reviewing Simtrecs pedals in the future?

    I had these for 6 months and sold them off after numerous issues. Bunch of play in the pedals, and the throttle sensor failed on me in 4 months. Bunch of other small stuff as well. He just announced he sold off the company today. Went with simtrecs and they’re loads better.

      I'm looking at the Realgear GTPRO3 pedals these HPP just look cheap almost like the looks was the main goal. I heard good things from Simtrecs they are much cheaper than the GTPRO3 (not quality but price) it's just so hard to make a choice when your in the 2000$-3000$ range for pedals. Much more research goes into it. I'm on Heusinkveld Ultimates right now but just getting bored with them. How have your Simtrecs been for this last year or so?

    Hi Will, great review. Just saw then you're driving through the pit in iRacing that there's something of the picture missing between the centre and the side screens cause of the Bezel kit. Just for your information, if you haven't discovered it yet, you can now set the bezels to a minus value, so it will add the picture on both screens, and thereby giving you the missing picture parts back with the bezel kit. Just like ACC. I just found the new feature by accident a few days ago.

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep. It’s never going to be perfect though. We have it optimised as best it can be with this setup. We were already using a negative offset which we achieved by fudging the dimensions to effectively give us a negative bezel previously.

    That clutch pedal design is awesome . I had a 66 mustang that had a very heavy clutch that was two stage. Once you got the car rolling there was no need to push the clutch in all the way . Once hit that crust stop you can change gears . So if you could set the clutch peramaters in the software to do that then that design would really be awesome . I'm just getting into all this so I'm not sure what is really all out there far as software and hardware .

    Ive had the previous gen and the new ones - been running them for almost 2 years and they're great. The ONLY issue is that I have a motion sim and the EMI would affect the throttle, but a large ferrite magnet helped get rid of that. But other than that, the best feeling pedals ive ever tried.

    Great review and pretty much your findings is what I experienced. Without the software control I ditched them and found the ultimates to be much better being able to dial them in perfectly to suit.

      @@jasgill7121 absolutely love them. They feel very close to a full hydraulic pedal. But without the hydraulics to worry about.
      The clutch pedal feels very realistic and has a sharp bite point. The throttle is the smoothest throttle I’ve tested to date.

    • @jasgill7121
      @jasgill7121 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barrymanon9459 I was thinking of either getting the Racewerk S1 Pro hydraulic pedals or the Pro Sim Evo hydraulic pedals (best of the best) and adding the simtrecs clutch to them since they're only a throttle and brake since theyre made for high performance F1 driving. What do you think?

    • @barrymanon9459
      @barrymanon9459 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jasgill7121 the simtrecs clutch goes into the simtrecs pcb board... so not sure how you would run it without the throttle as that has the pcb board inside it.
      I also have Racewerk pedals and the throttle to me is a huge huge let down.
      The brake does feel nice but it’s no where near as adjustable as the simtrecs to dial in to suit you perfectly. So I found my self being able to get the correct feeling with the simtrec pedals as it has 20 diff stiffness bumper settings. Plus it has their adjustable hydraulic shock damper which actually works unlike the HE ultimate, therefore it gives the pedal that fluid feeling .

    You want to use the stiffest brake pedal possible. Doing so helps develop muscle memory, with muscle memory it’s easy to gauge the amount of pressure you need to brake accurately and consistently. Although, I do prefer a very little pedal movement, it’s weird feeling like I’m pressing against a wall.
