My area is now expanding to Detroit-style pizza and more creative pizzas. Pizza is looking good in the future.
pizza is honestly one of the easiest things to make at home!! Granted I buy pre-made pizza dough from the store but for toppings, you can literally add whatever you want and sometimes I just throw on dinner leftoevers from the day before. I swear things just taste better in pizza form HAHAHA
man if u can afford like a an hour for a whole week of homemade pizza dough trust me you aint never gonna even touch that store bought crap. But i understand some people just cant afford the time.

There's a pizza place similar to Tony Baloneys in NYC called Two Boots Pizza. Tony Boloneys actually make their mozzarella which you can buy at the restaurant and Fung Bros missed on the ramen pizza only available on Wednesdays. Di Fara is actually my favorite pizza place btw. Next time, please to Speedy Romeo in Clinton Hill Brooklyn for their unique St. Louis Style pizza
Di Fara Pizza Brooklyn. Don’t buy into this Thai Pizza, Fried Chicken Pizza Bullshit. Go to Di Fara and get the best. I also like the original Patsy’s in East Harlem.
Start off with a standard Margherita pizza then add mushrooms, green peppers, sweetcorn, jalapenos with diced fresh tomatoes and fresh basil (IMHO that's the most you will need on a Naples pizza)
Old school is the way to go. It's still the dominant style in NY. All the other types are the kinds of places that you go to if you want something different or if a friends asks you to go.
If you want a pizza that should be in the dictionary next to NY Pizza, check out Tommy's on East Tremont in the Bronx. Won't be the most amazing pizza you've ever had, but just tastes like a good slice of pizza should. Something a little fancier about a mile away from Tommy's is Louie and Ernie's on Crosby. I highly recommend the sausage. If you want something a little off the beaten path, try Curry on Pizza in Bellerose. I don't know if it's great "pizza", but it is tasty.
Shoutout my childhood pizza shop ginos on catherine st that handsome devil has been serving me slices since i snuck out of grade school across the street to get them love u boss?❤
As a 65 yo from NYC. I love pizza. New Haven and ol skool NY pizza the best. I love all kinds ethnic food even mix foods on the rare high end buffet I eat. Don't really care for new age fuzion. Thin NY New Haven and Scilian done right. Not so much the new softer motz and burratta too wet. Neopolitian style is good. Chicago is different I personally dont want 5 lbs,of cheese and sausage on buttered pie crust. Detroit is ok till they put cheddar which is great on a burger Low moisture mozzarella, reggiano parmesano, locattelli pecorino are only cheese for a pizza pie. Btw the ammount of food you guys consume even for a 2 day shoot seems like alot even if u never finish.
Native NYer here and Prince Street Pizza is always my number 1. Best pepperoni slice plus owner is a real champ and protected me and my friends when we were getting harassed/attacked one night.
Are cup and char pepperoni not common in NYC? We have them all over here in Western NY (at least in my hometown, where there are a lot of Italian Americans)
Grew up in NY, moved to CT, but for me it will always be Scarr's, John's of Bleeker, Best...traditional old school all the way. NYC pizza > CT pizza, too, except for Modern. Don't at me!

We had a slice and a half pizza (size at the time), flavored 8 ounce drink and lots of napkins. We sat at a table (inside) and conversed as we ate the best tasting pizza in the whole wide world in Brooklyn New York, just for 25 cents. Who knew?
