Yeah. Being from Philly, this is like when people try to do all the cheesesteak places only to discover not all of them are good. It's really the street carts and little pizza shops that have some of the best.
I fully support everything Zach said. $1 pizza in midtown is the worst representation of our city. 😩 Please do a video of the actual good places in NYC. Start downtown and end in Brooklyn.
He bought pizza at every price point though. Keith's thoughts that this is what the average person visiting New York experiences is correct - this is representative! I went looking for a place based on reviews and I still didn't enjoy my pizza experience in NY ha.
@@megbdaisy Just avoid tourist spots or ask a local. NYC's dollar slices are better than $4 slices in many places. Tourist spots are made worse and overcharge because they know they'll reel in suckers no matter what.
@@tolazytothinkofanamd2351 When was the last time you stopped a random on the street and ask them about food recommendations? No one is going to do that, speciallyin a place like New York. I have a brilliant Eat the Menu idea! Eat the Menu: Dining Hall edition. As Keith tours with Lewberger, he hits up notable universities and tries everything on the dining hall menu. Universities are pitted against each other “March Madness” bracket style. Guests could include the Lewberger guys, notable alumni, professors, coaches, Tryceratops students, etc. Whatever university wins at the end of the series, the Try Guys then come and do a video. As a new yorker i'm so glad keith ended up visiting a 2 Bros & liked it 😭😭😭. 2 bros will always be my go-to $1 pizza joint! Though he should've sprinkled them with garlic, oregano, and pepper flakes. Those are what makes the classic $1 slices better

I wish they would have gone to better spots like Keith does when he reviews different the best places in LA. Good slices are typically in areas that New Yorkers visit. New Yorkers aren’t getting plain slices in Times Square or other tourist areas if they can help it. Sauce is really good and Zach rant at the end is spot on!
As a smug New Yorker I'm relieved to see Zach set the record straight and finally shout at Keith what I've been shouting at my screen this entire video.
@@williamfitzpatrick8073 Keith proved a point with this format - NYC doesn't have good pizza. If NYC had good pizza, midtown pizza would also be good. I'm 100% sure there are better places in NYC but if it's not all good, then it's not all good. The accurate statement is therefore: some shops in NYC have good pizza. Which is true everywhere in the world.
@@kaldogorath Nah, the truth is generally that when you go to touristy spots you get the watered-down low-rent version of authentic food. Like if you go to India, the best food isn't gonna be in the 2 blocks surrounding the Hyatt you're staying in 🙄

Zach is right though, time square is gross. If you’re coming to the city, avoid it lol also I’m from Jersey and I frequent nyc often, there are way to many pizza places to really pick random places to find the best pizza. 10:09 - 10:53 comes across wayyy different now that the secret's out. Becky's face?! Alex eating Ned's slice of pizza?! Ned's quick look at Becky and back?! Plus the fact that Becky didn't interact with Alex at all (AT ALL) the whole time. This is...omg.
I couldn’t stop thinking about Ned and Alex in this video and just came here to rewatch/remind myself. I felt the first time that Ned's energy was off and that he and Alex were near each other a lot and Ned was dressed "fancier" than necessary and all around the vibe was weird. I couldn't tell why, but now I'm just grossed out... I'm just sorry Keith's video is messed up now, thanks to them. I can't not focus on THAT part of it...
I actually sincerely hope this video format is repeated in other cities. I appreciated the vibes and it had just the right amount of Try Guy vlogging chaos without being overwhelming. Also, I feel like someone owes Alexandria a nice coffee or something for her worry. 😅
I’ve never even been to NYC but Keith’s conceit here about tourist spots is backwards. Tourist friendly spots don’t HAVE to be good, because they will get people to come in based on foot traffic alone. Places off the beaten path have to be good enough to get locals to be repeat customers.
Zach's comment about not making assumptions about NYC from just Midtown sums up my thoughts during this entire video. Keith's way definitely made for a bunch better video though - so much chaos! Also, love that the highest rated slices were from two diff dollar slice spots. Also, I'd love to see the LA tacos video - but only from a touristy area. I was gonna say to make it a series whenever you happen to go to a different city (just walk around and eat whatever the city is known for) but not every city is as walkable as NYC.
Zach is the best thing about this video- from the vegan lunch detour to the defense of pizza in new york to showing up all excited with a pizza they already tried. 10/10
This video was fun but as a tourist my friends and sister actually do look at food places that have high reviews/ locals suggest. I feel like a lot of people do that when they travel so they get their moneys worth so that would’ve been relatable. Basically, I feel like Alexandria was right from the start lol
Please do the taco thing. Zach and Keith hit the streets like tourists, accompanied by different guests who might be experts in the food they are trying in the episode sounds like a great balance between chaos and fun.

I’m with Zach. Whoever decided you should start at Columbus Circle, go down Broadway, and spend a lot of your time in Midtown/Times Square didn’t set this experiment up for success.
I know Keith's creativity probably creates a whole bunch of headaches that Alex and Rachel and other production team members have to work with but it's always worth it. Great content.
I’m just here analyzing every Ned and Alex interaction
People said Becky was off in this video and they speculated they may have known at this point or at least witnessed flirting. Another theory is shes just hung over. She just seems tired to me lol

Keith making sure that Alexandria didn’t walk into anything when she was walking backwards was the cutest thing.
The way the pizza improved dramatically once Keith was on his own....
and further down Midtown
It’s because the pizza in midtown are generally horrible because it’s a tourist spot and they don’t know better 😅😅

Love Hughie!
I think we've all learned the more touristy the area, the worse the pizza gets. Keith, I'm so sorry for your taste buds.
I feel like that's true for food in general in tourist areas; overall they don't have to try because there are always people around who are going to buy it regardless of its quality
@@hannahcollins1816 yup. Had the worst Italian food and pizza when I visited Italy. Only the places that the local tour guide took us to had great food.

Honestly, loved the hell out of this video!!
They went and did the “tourist” run of pizza places. I definitely think NY pizza has its own allure. It’s not my favorite but eh. Keith did a great job!
I also loved the laid back, fun atmosphere here with all their close friends!!
Me too! I laughed so hard at them talking about how horrible Midtown pizza is. My friends and I barely go north of 14th street for a reason…..
Yes exactly, brooklyn or queens
@@megbdaisy Just avoid tourist spots or ask a local. NYC's dollar slices are better than $4 slices in many places. Tourist spots are made worse and overcharge because they know they'll reel in suckers no matter what.

When was the last time you stopped a random on the street and ask them about food recommendations? No one is going to do that, speciallyin a place like New York. So it's better to make sure that the pizza in those areas are good, since a tourist might not venture super far if they don't know the way.
@@lunayen tbh of all the places to do it nyc is probably the best. They love bragging about their city and are generally nicer than you think.
I loved this one. The fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants styling was just so fun and earnest. Taco vid when??
I have a brilliant Eat the Menu idea! Eat the Menu: Dining Hall edition. As Keith tours with Lewberger, he hits up notable universities and tries everything on the dining hall menu. Universities are pitted against each other “March Madness” bracket style. Guests could include the Lewberger guys, notable alumni, professors, coaches, Tryceratops students, etc. Whatever university wins at the end of the series, the Try Guys then come and do a video. It could be a “…Try Being Mascots,” “…Try Going Back to College,” “…Try Marching Band,” or whatever makes sense for the winning university. Thanks insomnia for the random idea, lol!
Dude these are amazing ideas. Tweet them at Keith, they must do this!
I would watch this series!
I always imagined universities had the exact same food, like bought from the same supplier and everything
I know they were in NYC for a real reason and did other stuff
but I like to think they flew in, filmed video and flew home the next morning
I’m really glad that Zach brought up the fact that the fact most of the pizza they ate was in midtown played a huge factor in the outcome

As someone who knows very little about NYC why is them being in midtown a big deal?
@@braids4836 Midtown is extremely touristy and kind of awful in pretty much every way. It's not a broad representation of what NYC is like, so it's not a great place to get representative pizza.

Good slices are typically in areas that New Yorkers visit. yes but this was fun because we've seen heaps of videos where they just go to places on 'best' lists
Exactly
As a smug New Yorker I'm relieved to see Zach set the record straight and finally shout at Keith what I've been shouting at my screen this entire video.
Keith never stood a chance starting in Midtown with this format, I almost launched myself through the wall out of frustration.
@@williamfitzpatrick8073 Keith proved a point with this format - NYC doesn't have good pizza. If NYC had good pizza, midtown pizza would also be good. He hit the places tourists would go, he had the tourist experience. This is what most tourists think of pizza in your city - it's pretty bad. I'm 100% sure there are better places in NYC but if it's not all good, then it's not all good.

Good point. Tourist places tend to be the first google results and super popular, not just a place you wandered into.
Please do the taco thing. Zach and Keith hit the streets like tourists, accompanied by different guests who might be experts in the food they are trying in the episode sounds like a great balance between chaos and fun.
