Travolta and Cage really do a great job of imitating each other's mannerisms.
Especially Travolta. He mimics Cage's nasally voice inflections so well.
A sequel should have them as conjoined twins.
That'd be a great idea!!
I love Face Off. I like how they imitating each other's mannerisms when they swapped faces.
51:28 Dominique Swain's most known role after this movie was Adrian Lynne's 1997 adaptation of Lolita opposite Jeremy Irons. Which likely required the actress to be more than "semi-attractive" despite it being filmed when she was 15.
Lolita gets brought up in an upcoming episode
You know I can eat a peach for hours, but I can watch Tony for days.
You have my interest 🤨
I'm proud to say that I saw this in the theatre back in the day. Still an awesome action movie to this day
The script was originally written as a straight sci-fi movie set in the future. While they ended up setting it in the then-present, some of the futuristic elements remained, most notably, the super-high-tech prison.
John Woo is a God, Hard Boiled is the greatest action movie ever!
I love when the stunt doubles do not look like the characters they play.
Saw this on pay-per-view back when I was like 10. We had one of those black martket cable boxes that descrambled all of the premium cable channels like HBO, Cinemax, Starz, and then 29, 30 and 31 were where they showed the new releases that you had to pay the fee to watch (not included with the premium cable channels). I saw so much stuff as a kid in the late 90s-early 2000s that I definitely shouldn't have. When my friends were over for sleepovers, I'd unplug the box from the TV in the living room and take it to my room so we could watch all the bad stuff.
Oh yeah, lots of softcore content. Although today's youth have more access to hardcore videos.
On the subject of movies referencing other movies that are supposed to have taken place in the same universe, the events of "Con-Air" are referenced in the direct-to-video action flick "Evasive Action" starring Roy Scheider of all people. The premise of that movie: inmates take over a train transporting them from prison to prison. Why? Because the Department of Corrections no longer uses airplanes because of the events in "Con-Air".
I mean… the John Woo Mission Impossible does have the line “it’s not mission difficult, Mr Hunt. It’s mission impossible”
Mentioning Jack Deth makes me want to see a Face Off with Tim Thomerson and Tom Atkins.
Ok I just saw the title. John Woo is one of my favorite directors and hard boiled 2 is one of my favorite movies.
I saw face off opening night in the theater with an audience. Sometimes when I watch the movie again I still remember the intital reactions from the audience around me.
I absolutely love this movie
Now ill watch your video
Hard Boiled 2? As in a sequel?
Honey wake up. Tony from Hack the Movies is about to drop a slammer
I wonder if the surgeon who did the face swap was a genius chimpanzee because if there was a surgeon chimp this would be their expertise 😉 really enjoying this. Thanks Tony!
My second favorite action movie as a kid, after Terminator 2.
Vito literally sounds like Phil Hartman 😂
I was wondering who he sounded like. I still don't know who you mean I'm gonna have to look into it but I know the name 😂 I'm from UK
But he sounds exactly the same...
High praise
Meme aside, Nicolas Cage is a wonderful actor. An underrated artist. Wild at Heart, Leaving Las Vegas, 8MM, Bring Out The Dead, Adaptation., Joe, Mandy--- all excellent films with extraordinary performances by Cage. Face Off is awesome, but I like Con Air more.
I recently watched Renfield. The story was kinda dumb but nicholas hoult was excellent and Nicolas Cage was a pretty hilarious Dracula.
Tony in every single video: “Uhhhhhhhmmmmmm”
This has to be one of the best Nic Cage movies ever. He plays the two characters so believeably differently, but its also travolta that seals the believability factor along with him, great movie
I genuinely love this movie. It's cheezy, with great action. It's fine and fun.
The end of this is all “it’s ok to be wrong”, lmao
Aw yes, Face Of7. Classic movie.
This movie is magical.
If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you check out the nostalgia critic review of this movie. It's hilarious!
18:39 vito wants to see kids busting..ghosts
“Having basic empathy for non-offending pee-does will ultimately lead to less abuse”-Vito
And yes, folks . That is an actual quote from Vito. You can find it and all of his other archived tweets over on his 🥝 farms page.

My two favorite Italians talking about Face/Off?
Best video ever.
The mid-to-late 90s were peak action cinema (maybe even peak everything)!
Although I prefer "The Rock" over this one, "Face/Off" represents the climax of its genre with over the top style, acting, action and Cage.
You're certainly the opposite of the Nostalgia Critic when it comes to that era. But I believe action cinema had a much longer peak from the 80s to the 90s. John Woo's The Killer & Hard Boiled are often considered his masterpieces.
I kinda want Hack the Movies to cover the 007 series. No, need it to happen. Get on that ASAP!
We just did tomorrow never dies in june and golden eye back in 2021
@@HackTheMovies No I want the WHOLE series, maybe in groups of three or something, and discussing which one was the best. Thanks for reminding me though.
The big guy subtlety killing face off back off
Over the Rainbow is a God damn classic
I’ve been considering a Face/Off style tattoo but with Godzilla and Kong.
Mission Impossible 2 felt like a Face Off sequel
The John Travolta Renaissance was (and still is) for real.
J-Lo or Hank Hill. I wonder how many people caught that one. 😂
I love that scene in Team America that parodies Mission Impossible.
The drew carey show was awesome. One of the reasons its awol is the amount of music throughout the series that they would need to license or change. And with the message Hit the Road Jack... Panama by Van Halen!
Always awesome when you have guest that are experts on the topic, not like the fiasco with the POwer Ranger movie episode
Hell YEAH!
Hi famous Tony from Hack the Movies! Love the show! The rap music video you were inquiring about that uses the prison set from Face/Off is Who Dat by JT Money.
THANK YOU
This movie is amazing!! It also has one of the greatest nicolas Cage performance s ever!!!
This is great, y’all work great off each other
Vito sounds like “Falcon” from Gameranx channel
I thought so too!
Would have loved a Nick Cage movie of just caster troy
I'm not sure about being dressed as a priest but as a tradesman that has to wear high vis clothing I've discovered I can do and go pretty much anywhere if I sport a serious workman face while walking quickly. 😂
the truest form of invisibility, making it look like you simply belong there. even a stunted robot made it work in transformers.
I thought 'Over the Top' had Stallone in it 🤔😏
Wait Tony you had an opportunity to connect Face/Off to the Punisher. Either John Travolta gets fired or quit the FBI and move from La California to Tampa Bay FL. Also Thomas Jane could be under deepcover for the FBI or is a criminal gets released and changes his life. Joins the military comes home and becomes an FBI agent.
This is one of my favorite movies ever.
Lord of War is the best Nicholas Cage movie of all time
Yea If I were Archer I would be pissed at my staff too if they couldn’t find Troy in the middle of LA dressed as a Priest.
(me walking into hack the movies barber shoppe) "I'll have a little over the top please"
Your co-host in this episode sounds so much like Howard Stern 😂
X men first class had the music over scene. Time in a bottle was the song when quicksilver runs around in that scene. Great review, for an awesome movie.
I still do the Nicolas Cage dance to this day.
Fate of the furious Alvin and the chipmunks song during the plane kid rescue
39:20 Yeah, it was worth pulling up that shot. The editing in these is not where it needs to be compared to other channels. I like the discussion, that's why I'm here, but I'm frequently waiting for a clip or picture that never shows. Sorta like this 49:51
Great review, I caught you couldn't find that second f and had to use a 7 good play.
Man i have'nt seen this Movie in Years,,,,Gotta add it to my Collection 😃🤘😃🤘
Travolta and Seinfeld could be brothers 😂
The daughter would be Trans if it was made today
😁
Lolz
It was originally written for michael douglas, martin sheen and robert duvalle to swap faces.
Tony and Vito is the killer combo - this was good times all the way through gents. Lets make Vito the perma guest, please and thanks!
He literally lives on the other side of the country
Absolutely not. The guy is disgusting.
Fuck. Haven't watched it in over 15 years. I have to re-watch it!!!
Tony, you're gonna have to update your Cuties Fan joke to Sound of Freedom fans. 😂
10:51 Castor and Pollox are, in fact the name of the Gemini twins from the zodiac. Incidentally the name for twins is a variation of the word gemini in several languages.
i wish i could in just one breath
be exactly like jack deth
traveling through those different times
dealing with those multiple wives
Love FACE/OFF, I remember when the film came out how seriously the actors were in interviews about the complexity of imitating another actor in this silly action movie. I also love Vito as a guest, genuinely funny, although the bit about the culture war not being real is either insanely naive or just wishful thinking/denial. It may all seem very stoopid, but it is clearly very real, and ppl don't need TH-cam or any other form of media to see it.
P.S. Just picked up a copy of SUPERKILLER, love the premise and tone and art style. Also, while I have yet to pick up a copy of Isom #1 or #2, I am a fan of Eric, but at the same time I love how ya'll take the piss out of him. He's made enough money, or sold enough comics, that he should be able to take it. I honestly hope he can roll with the punches and not just start pretending ya'll don't exist, or something gay like that, it's my least favorite thing a Podcast/TH-camr can do...
I really wanted a Site B reference for the extra medical team at the end.
Vito is always hilarious. You really do look like him watching on dialup at 240p.
Awesome LoL cool super hero outfit famous Tony this movie was cool back when I was a kid
Ah, yes. Back in the days when a girl with a nose ring was considered unusual.
Viiiiiiito lol blew my mind
That Joan Allen comment 😂
I have no idea who this guy is, but damn if he isn't the exact looking guy i picture whenever i hear the word "neckbeard".
Look up his kiwi farms page.
He literally defends people that have a certain attraction to kids.
No, I’m not joking.
@@Jaydeena-rm7th Ha! Knew it!
I live in NE Ohio and they don't even rerun the Drew Carrey Show on any of the local Cleveland stations. Always wondered why also?
That laugh is something
You need more letters for your marquee
Vito has the best laugh!
Shrek was a good guess, 1997 was Austin Powers
I forgot how amazing this movie is
38:12 The Drew Carey Show had a damn good Intro. OHIO!!!!
I thought Kieran had the eye phobia, I'm probably drunk and remembering it wrong again, but lemme know
Best line in the video! 1:27:38
Schwarzenegger/Stallone Face Off would have been way worse. Nick Cage and Travolta absolutely crushed this movie
I see two Tonys! Tony is so famous he has doubles. Which is the real Tony? Regardless; Tony’s legions of female fans are going to go mad with lust.
My 2 favorite fake Italians
I feel the face rub thing was a way to show the wife and daughter its him, some sort of personality trait
Wasn't Travolta a Couple of inches Taller than Cage!? That's like 5 cm....
How could the (Castor Troy) Brother confuse them!? 🤔🤔
If it weren’t for slow mo, John Woo would never have directed a feature length film. They’d all be about an hour long.
No one is pretending TLJ is good. A lot are pretending it's bad.
WTF?! Face Off was huge at the time
Also, I don't get the backwards 7, did you run out of F's?
I only have 2 of each letter/number. I need to see if they sell additional ones.
Are you headed to Vegas in October??
Gotta disagree with you Tony, this move is terribly great! It’s an awful movie but the over acting of cage and travolta makes it one of my favorites
This movie f#&ing rocks!
Was it supposed to be Schwarzenegger and Stallone? Problem is; who is the hero?
Face Swap Customs
Tony and Vito, has there been a better duo?
I propose a new show. Tony, Vito, and M*thaF***a Mike!
Sounds like Squidward
