  • Filing rowels is a challenge. Figuring out how to hold them is the first step.

Great to see a Craftsman so willing to show his “how to” methods to anyone keen to learn. Thanks

That’s what I need. Thanks for the great idea! It’s deals like this that make all the difference in the world. Getting set up and ready for the job to be able to work effectively and efficiently!
A+ is the grade that gets earned there; ease the pain for the next tradesmen and share the knowledge!
Your a steward of your profession.
You educate others through your knowledge of your trade, and I’m dang impressed in how you conduct yourself!
Your leaving a legacy behind you, a good one.
Just wanted to give you a shout out! Thanks for your encouragement in what your doing here. We hate have to inspire us.
Your thinking, concerned and care enough to reach out to us little guys and by gosh, Thank you!
You don’t get many of these and it’s time you get one!
Wilson by you reaching out to us little guys that nobody knows about yet for some, (and never will in my case as this is a hobby) that puts the stars in their eyes in the fires in their bellies! They gotta have! We all do, so don’t ever think that the views meter and subscribed number are the most important. It’s often times quality not quantity in some cases i think.
I hope I can speak a little for some of the folks new to this deal behind the grinders, vises, and hammers with dreams like you once did ghat you give us hope and admiration. Thanks again!
What one man can do maybe another can, but to get there first I think we have to understand why? Why do we want to learn to make spurs, bits and love to play with iron. It’s because we are passionate about it!
You got it! That’s obvious to the casual observer, your passion is right there for the world to see and you are who you are from what can see; humble and nice.
I’m getting this passion for these spurs and making them more and more I like to think everyday in this journey but I guess I was fortunate from the start.
My only gain I have ever wanted in this quest, is to make something, for someone that I care about. A gift for someone special in my heart, close to me. Just wanted them to see ghat I made them a set of spurs to let them know that I care about em and luv em, that’s all.
I’m looking for that smile it puts on the face, and that warm spot that you see hit that heart right where you know you nailed it for them and it means a lot to them.
If in that mix a little comes this way too in the warm fuzzy department, we welcome that too I guess. That just makes us humans I suppose.
My path is not for fame and fortune and in learning to make spurs, and I don’t think for a second that was, or is yours either Mr Capron.
I think that we share metal as a medium to try and do some good.
So as I break ground in this spur patch and cut my teeth, I have put a challenge before myself.
I also have a Maysie in my lineup. I read on your website you also have one Wilson. Mine is 16 years of age she is my oldest daughter with Gwen 8, Telly 9, and Alan 13.
We as a family like to go to some of these little county fairs and rodeos around Idaho over the summer.
I’m going to be making a few sets of spurs in the beginning that are going to be a little bit rough and maybe not the best, but still a lot of hard work and time will have gone into them. Good to someone, the right someone, for these #2’s as we say in the spud business.
So I got to thinking a little bit about things and these practice sets I’ll be generating in my quest for my ultimate; sets.
Growing up with enough to get by and not a bunch extra maybe left a little bit of a “mark” or a put a little softer spot on this heart for kids I see that might be in that same spot.
I’m going to have me a few sets of them spurs this summer in the pickup and when I’m out and about I see where I might be able to do some good by tossing a kid and his brother a set of C Gib’s to put on his old boots that ain’t got none!, well there’s a home I see it.
That’s a way for my kids to see good done. My wife is a special needs teacher, so she does it every and they see that day.
We are both sure trying real hard and I gotta do my part and craft my legacy; my children.
The feller that keeps the score of the big game that ultimately counts: well I like to think that the good lord “likes” them things, he gives the “thumbs up” and that’s the one I’m watching out for down the road.
Thanks for everything that you don’t see any reason for you to be worried, you and what your doing is not getting a thumbs up or like!
    Adios!
