I think a better monk subclass for this build whould be way of mercy, it fits yuujis personality, the hand of heal feature could be an explanation on yuujis extreme thoughness and the hand of harm feature could be a crit strike enhancement, in other words BLACK FLASH. (Edit) Also the ability to use hand of harm in every flurry of blows at later levels can represent yujis ability to use Black flash almost at will
Would certainly be an option yes! This has been so long ago I don't know if I even knew about that subclass at the time. But it certainly would be fitting!

While I agree Blade is better in game I think the Talisman pact fits the character better for his superhuman ability to just get through things that should kill him
Honestly, I forgot about Talisman because its a new addition, didn't own that book on beyond when I was building Yuuji. Frankly, for Yuuji, I think the pact itself is fairly unimportant. But, that said, I could certainly see Talisman being useful since it's basically a passive guidance spell.

Kinda 2 years late, but just wanted to say that Booming Blade might be better than Green Flame. Yuji's cursed energy is unstable and tends to lag behind the initial hit to effectively cause two hits and the BB proc on that I feel fits thematically well. Besides that though, this is a very nice build. Might give this a try in an upcoming oneshot! :)
You can do the ritual with pact of the blade to make the +1, +2, or +3 hand wraps, then summon those as your pact of the blade weapon, and then you can eldritch smite when unarmed
Have you considered making Asura from Asura's Wrath? Not sure about the race (leaning towards either Goliath or Scourge Aasimar) or background, but I think he'd be a Zealot Barbarian and Astral Self Monk.
I'll add him on to the list! Would be fun to tackle, strength monks are usually rough to make work mechanically but a few of the latest books have given us some solid options to work with.
This build was amazing and I wanna play it now I actually made a sukana build I made him a level 16 bard college of lore and a level 4 barb way of the zealot with the unarmed fighting style

I would do all the levels he put in Monk (Way of the Cobalt Soul), but only up to the eldritch invocations of Undead Warlock. Also, don’t take Pact of the Blade. If anything take Pact of the Chain. For a demonic companion. I would also add in a few levels of Barbarian, mostly for Unarmored Defense. (Which you will definitely need if not using armor.)
This is my own take on this character idea: While he is refereed to as a sorcerer in the series, DnD sorcerers are very different to JJK sorcerers so this build wont include sorcery. This uses point buy rather than standard array Race: Normal human Point buy gives us 15 13 13 8 12 12, totalling to 16 14 14 8 13 13 We need to multi class into monk and warlock for this build, so I went for normal human for as many ASIs as I can, though we don’t actually need good wisdom or charisma so I kept them at 13. He is strong, so high strength. He is pretty dexterous and durable, so they are high too. Low intelligence because he is stupid (and we don’t need it at all) I want: >5+ levels fighter: extra attack, subclass, and unarmed fighter >6 levels warlock: Undead for form of dread (Sukuna transformation + Sukuna is kinda undead), armor of shadows invocation (Itadori doesn’t wear armor + Sukuna protects him sometimes), grave touched for an unarmed strike buff >1 level monk: making a bonus action unarmed strike >Possibly some levels in barbarian if we can fit them in The starting class doesn’t really matter since we aren’t using equipment, so choose based on the saving throws. I will say monk and fighter are the main contenders, I’ll lean towards monk to get an extra attack right away and dex saves. He doesn’t start the series with magic so warlock wouldn’t make much sense even if we wanted it. LEVEL 1: lvl 1 Monk . Dex and str save proficiency . Unarmored defense (we will be using this for a while but not permanently): AC = 13 for now (he gets his a lot so it kinda makes sense) . Martial arts: You can punch as a bonus action and deal d4+str for unarmed strikes for now If your table implements the rule from spelljammer that lets you gain a feat (tough, skilled, or magic innitiate) if you didn’t get one with your background, take tough. Alternatively, gain tough through a custom background feature if this is allowed at your table. LEVEL 2: lvl 1 monk, lvl 1 fighter . Unarmed fighting: This fighting style will make your unarmed strikes a d8. This combined with martial arts will actually put you ahead of your melee martial team mates until level 5 when they get multi attack (which you will get much later) . Second wind These first 2 levels just represent Itadori being an above average fighter with no real magical abilities yet. LEVEL 3: lvl 1 monk, lvl 1 fighter, lvl 1 warlock (undead) . Pact magic . Form of dread: This works quite well thematically and mechanically as a Sukuna transformation, making you tougher and scarier. It will also improve your damage later on. . The spell Hex: This isn’t a great spell but works well to represent cursed energy and has decent synergy with the number of attack you make. Take whatever other spells and cantrips you want but remain an unarmed fighter if you want to stick with the theme of the build. Using this will prevent you from making a bonus action unarmed strike on that turn so use it if you are too far away and had to dash or if you come across an enemy that will have a lot of health, otherwise just keep punching, This level will represent Sukuna entering your body and you becoming more powerful because of it. LEVEL 4-7: lvl 1 monk, lvl 2-5 fighter(champion), lvl 1 warlock (undead) . Action surge . Extra attack . Improved critical: Itadori can use black flash more often than your average cursed energy user, so it kinda makes sense . ASI: If you couldn’t take tough before, take tough now. Otherwise, take +2 Str now. I think battlemaster is a stronger pick for subclass that does kinda work for the theme but Itadori isn’t known for being a particularly skilled fighter as much as he is a brute force user, so that and the black flash thing led me to choose champion. LEVEL 8-12: lvl 1 monk, lvl 2-5 fighter(champion), lvl 2-6 warlock (undead) . Eldritch invocations: >Armor of shadows: AC is now 15, which is a little better than before >Eldritch mind: Will help you concentration >Eldritch sight: You can sense cursed energy . Pact of the talisman: Pact of the blade doesn’t work with unarmed strikes and . Grave touched: Will make Sukuna (form of dread) do more damage . ASI: +2 str. If you were able to start with tough, this will be maxed strength. # . At this point you actually have some good warlock spells available to you but none of them really fit thematically. You may take thunderstep of misty step and flavour the as a sudden speed burst or something along those lines though. Take whatever spells. *Here is where we reach a bit of a cross roads. 3 or 4 levels in totem barbarian would be very helpful for rage and being way harder to put down would make sense, but the flavour of a totem warrior isn’t very Itadori at all, so for the sake of this build I won’t be taking it. If you don’t mind or your DM lets you reflavour it, go ahead and take more levels in totem barbarian, taking bear totem. LEVEL 13-20: lvl 1 monk, lvl 6-13 fighter(champion), lvl 1 warlock (undead) . Remarkable athlete: This ability certainly makes sense for Itadori, its basically a quote describing him . Indomitable x2: This helps to make you a bit harder to put down. . Additional fighting style: Superior technique: I’d say pick your favourite maneuvar here, I would recommend trip attack due to how helpful advantage on as many attacks as you make in a turn + improved critical would be. . Extra attack x2: This is good for putting out lots of punches. If you action surge and use martial arts, you can punch 7 times in one turn. If you successfully trip attack with the first hit, thats 6 attacks made with advantage. Having hex on those too would be insane, especially considering improved critical. . ASI: +2 dex if you got tough at level 1 or +2 str . ASI: +2 dex . ASI: +2 dex Your AC will end at 18 if you started with tough or 17 if you didn’t which is respectable Ending stats will be: 20 20 (or 18) 14 8 13 13 With that, the build is done. I think this does a good job or representing the ability set of Itadori, which is mostly just punching stuff and turning into Sukuna. It is also not that weak as far as melee martials and especially unarmed striking builds go, but I definitely wouldn’t call this build strong. STRENGTHS: . You’ll get lots of crits and can exclaim “black flash” whenever it happens. . You’ll have pretty good offence and defence for a melee martial . Form of dread will work well for role-play and mechanics as it’ll make you tougher, give you more attacks of opportunity, make your whole team harder tp hit, and cause you to deal more damage. WEAKNESSES: . Your attacks’ main damage will likely never be considered magical (unless your DM gives you one of the rare magic items that lets them be) so you’ll be much weaker against enemies that resist non magical damage and basically useless against enemies that are immune to it. . As many things as this build does to make you more survivable, your are gonna die much more easily than most build who stand next to an enemy hitting them repeatedly. . Your spells are either going to be bad or won’t match the theme of the build very well. *If you read the whole thing, thanks

For my yuji buil i went a total of 8 lvl monk with a rework way of the immortal 2 paladin lvl and 10 sorc lvl aberent mind because i had no other subclass close enough to my taste i got homebrew spells with some of them with jjk inspiration. For the curious the 2 lvl paladin are the black flash
This video is two years old and I don’t know when the data book came out, but I’d argued you should’ve prioritized intelligence and strength over wisdom for yuji. Since it says yuji is not dumb, and he actually would excel in fields like science, it’s just he’s slow on the upkeep.
can you make an updated one with *manga spoilers* (dont click read more until you are caught up with the manga, at around 251.) with blood manipulation?
I don't usually revisit sadly, since there's *so* many characters people want to see, but I do have a subclass coming out soon that'd work well for him!
I know that this was made with only the knowledge of season 1 of the anime, but, due to [manga spoilery reasons] wouldn't Yuji's race be "warforged " ? Because, you know (spoiler): He's the "son" or ,more correctly, one of the creation of the evil sorcerer Kenjaku, made with the purpose of containing Sukuna.
Correct, the new format is 15, includes homebrew, and offers more freedom to the viewer. Very few people ever even reach 11, let alone 15 or 20 after all.
Would you do a build on Diego Brando from Part 7 of JJBA? My recommendations with the way I built it was Shifter (Hunt) Race, Ranger (SwarmKeeper) and Fighter (Cavalier) but feel the build could be improved with your character building skills
@@morganmiller3508 Interesting view, feels incredibly limiting to me, but you do you man! Long as you're having fun! I don't agree in the slightest lol
Did you ever consider messing around with Sorcerer and the interactions it has with Vampiric Touch + Quickened Spell? It feels reminiscent of black flash not to mentioning allowing for a little healing to allow you to tank more damage. I feel it could be a good replacement for warlock.
You can build a character with anything honestly. As far as that goes if you wanted to spam a barrage of punches you could go warlock with crossbow expert for melee-eldritch blasts lol
My only critique is that yuji is an exactly dexterous, he is just extremely tanky. So I think I would’ve given most of the points you put i ndex and found a way to put them in the constitution.
I don't have the option for "False Life" so instead I took "Expeditious Retreat" to replace it to represent his incredible movement speed, do you have any recommendations for better replacements? The only extended content I have is TCoE
It's been a minute so I don't recall the build in detail. But Fiendish Vigor should be a standard players handbook option. So I assume this is just a standard first level spell? If so, Armor of Agathys, Hellish Rebuke, and Hex are all solid options as well.

He's on the list for members and patreons to vote on, so probably soon!
This video is two years old and I don’t know when the data book came out, but I’d argued you should’ve prioritized intelligence and strength over wisdom for yuji. Since it says yuji is not dumb, and he actually would excel in fields like science, it’s just he’s slow on the upkeep.
Limitiations of 5e buddy, thanks you!
🔥🔥🔥
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yuji isn't book smart he's money smart, makes him more intelligent. Call him Mr. Rock Festival he got Hella bands.
Yuji's got a master's degree in throwing hands idk what you mean.
can you make an updated one with *manga spoilers* (dont click read more until you are caught up with the manga, at around 251.)
with blood manipulation?
I don't usually revisit sadly, since there's *so* many characters people want to see, but I do have a subclass coming out soon that'd work well for him!
Yuji was actually born to be sukunas vessel, kenjaku is his mother 😭 what race would that make him?
I know that this was made with only the knowledge of season 1 of the anime, but, due to [manga spoilery reasons] wouldn't Yuji's race be "warforged " ?
Because, you know (spoiler):
He's the "son" or ,more correctly, one of the creation of the evil sorcerer Kenjaku, made with the purpose of containing Sukuna.
At that point he could be an anything but a war forged imo. But that doesn't stop you from making whatever you'd like to make him!
So newer vids just go to level 15 while these ones go to 20 which I prefer
Correct, the new format is 15, includes homebrew, and offers more freedom to the viewer. Very few people ever even reach 11, let alone 15 or 20 after all.
Would you do a build on Diego Brando from Part 7 of JJBA? My recommendations with the way I built it was Shifter (Hunt) Race, Ranger (SwarmKeeper) and Fighter (Cavalier) but feel the build could be improved with your character building skills
I'll add them to the list, sounds interesting!
@@HeartLockHex thank you! There is no anime visuals for it yet (official at least) fair warning
@@jojoker7662 Not an issue! Most media I consume is written or in manga/comic form anyway lol
@@HeartLockHex hell yeah, highly recommended reading part 7 then, the art style is great and the story is pretty heart wrenching at times
You can't his str and dex would both be off the charts lolz
That's what adaptation and creativity is for! Never feel tied down by feats as simple as alot of power or speed.
@@HeartLockHex i mean i get what ur saying but its not really the playing yuji if you cant do what he is able to do is all im saying
@@morganmiller3508 Interesting view, feels incredibly limiting to me, but you do you man! Long as you're having fun! I don't agree in the slightest lol
@@HeartLockHex to each there own im just saying your playing a character like yuji not actually playing yuji and that is a major difference my guy
@@morganmiller3508 Have a nice day lol
Please make an new build. Since we now know more about yuji and that he has his own abillity.
That's actually pretty cool, I didn't even think about that.@@HeartLockHex
@@domman2882 5es got some weird but hilarious mechanics lol
Do you have a favourite weird mechanic?@@HeartLockHex
@@domman2882 No favorites, just an enjoyment at tweaking things into fun new methods lol
My only critique is that yuji is an exactly dexterous, he is just extremely tanky. So I think I would’ve given most of the points you put i ndex and found a way to put them in the constitution.
The guy is *superhumanly* dexterous, so I'm not sure what you mean, but by all means just use this as inspiration! It's what it's here for.
Do mitsuki from boruto
Haven't seen it but I certainly can! Added in to the list and it'll come out based on Patreon votes!
Hope you enjoyed the video, thank you!
Please do a gojo
Added to the list, he's pretty highly requested so can expect him soon!
Kalastar*
Would be interesting!
Your voice 🤤
Lmfao, I think that's a compliment so thank you!
I concur, that voice
@@scorchysdragon6736 I'll definitely assume its a compliment at this point lol, thank you!
Massive JJK manga spoilers below
Technically Yuji is part curse so you don't have to be human for his race
Yup! That can go for any of these builds always though really. They're just guidelines after all.
