This thing really surprised me! I definitely had regulated water bb / gel ball blasters to my backburner, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the overall rate of fire and low cost of entry for such a solid primary class offering. Don't get me wrong, my primary love will always be foam flinging, but I could totally see myself hitting up a water war with one of these.

@@oddball7767 Australia hasn't banned gel blasters. They are just restricted in many states, though not outright banned. States like Victoria technically haven't banned them, but they are considered 'imitation firearms' which means you need an imitation firearms permit.

Yeah Xploders were cool I guess, I only remember spring action ones. No battery powered.
They also had the gatling gun
It was a mix of high price, weird appearance and function that meant they never really survived beyond the initial advertising in Australia.
The problem is now that many states here ban replicas, even if they're brightly coloured.
This particular SplatRBall AEG resembles a H&K G36.
They also had this company that did the little paper bullets that u had to wet aswell
If it’s internals are like an AEG, then they actually “prefer” running in full auto. It puts more stress on the gearbox to run in semi since it has to get the whole works moving and then stop it suddenly. Whereas in full auto those gears just keep spinning and it all runs smoothly. That’s probably why it was more consistent in full than semi
Well this is deffinetly a G36 based design. Thats why the ergo and select switch are good. ^^ Blaster looked pretty solid.

Gel blasters have always been a thing, they're a replacement for airsoft in some places. Pretty neat things, they're like an even ground between airsoft/paintball and foam blasters.

@@CaptainResident Interesting, I know the ones I was thinking of weren't nearly as functional for that purpose. If I remember right they were all plunger tubes basically, but I didn't know they ramped them up to being that serious.

I’ve had this blaster for about a month now and I’m super surprised how well built it is. I haven’t taken it apart but you can see inside the mag well that the cylinder and is blue anodized aluminum, there are also some brass components and other metal parts in inside. They actually looks like the parts I’ve seen sold as upgrades for other gel blasters like those p90 and m4 guns. Well worth the money!

I really enjoy things like Gelball and Airsoft but in all honesty what has me gravitated towards Nerf or FDBs (Foam Dart Blasters) is that fact that there's more creativity into that hobby than anything else.

That extremely plain shell looks like a great platform for cosmetic mods. Simple lines, neutral grey plastic, zero deco or texturing - nothing to remove, cover, or sand off.

What aisle at Walmart did you see this by? Like where the nerf guns were or by the hunting/bb guns?

I think this is what nerf hyper is. From the design to the amount of ammo for the price. They will probably be some sort of pre made gel ball.
Honestly I know nerf has been doing bad lately but what if they made a bb splat line? 🤷♂️. They won’t do it though :(

@@halloweenthe13th89 I wouldn't say their doing bad, not great in sales with a limited line of new blasters and nothing is interesting. Everything new either uses an old shooting mechanism or has lights and sounds which is mostly for the kids. With Mega, Rival, Ultra and Accustrike, I can see them doing some sort of gel blaster to keep up with the market for low range soft shooting blasters for younger audiences. Its highly unlikely though seeing how Nerf tries innovating by making new ammo types that won't outperform and can be played with other blaster types. So gel or hard plastic darts are probably out of the question.
They need to make 150fps springer rival

What ruins airsoft is the kids who go out wearing full mil-sim gear pretending to be an operator, who won't feel the shots from the kid wearing nothing but a T-shirt and jeans with his 200fps springer, while that same kid will probably get a few bruises from the kids with modded gas powered full autos that hit the 500fps mark, especially at close range.

@@wxl2562 from my experience in my country's airsoft scene, these mil-sim guys are usually the honest ones. Because they're in it for the roleplay, not the competition. The superman/zombies are usually those with 2 sweaters and a bomber jacket AND a vest, double trousers and triple socks. The solution? Dump half a mag on him full auto at 5m. Even then he only claims to be hit by 2 rounds.

They're rumored to be half size rival, made of foam. Not confirmed, but pretty sure. Hyper I think has been cancelled. It was leaked almost a year ago, and we still know very little about it. It's been delayed at least once.

@@fullarmourtracksuit4023 that's what we can deduce from looking at the different leaks on different websites for the listing of Hyper. We know for sure that they will be smaller balls than rival, and it wouldn't make sense for nerf to move to gel balls. They're know as a foam dart blaster company, and changing that wouldn't make sense. Super soakers are a separate thing. Therefore, we can guess that Hyper is half size or 2/3 size rival, which is still incredibly dumb. But we will see. I think Hasbro realized how stupid the idea was and hopefully cancelled it. I'm not looking forward to Hyper, if it ever comes out.

That thing is awesome my neighbor got one. The weight and feel of the toy it's fairly similar to the real thing of course The recoil isn't and the rate of fire is ridiculously fast.

The Chinese gel blasters are like AEGs now they look realistic and can reach about 300fps out of the box
The aftermarket chinese ones you get on amazon and wish? Dude those claim 300-500fps but the most your getting is 200fps if your lucky, usually they just pass the 100fps mark or don't register at all on a chronograph. I also wouldn't use the battery that comes with those chinese gel blasters, probably a major fire hazard both while using and charging it. But don't worry, I don't think gel blasters will take over any time soon. Nerf is way too popular in canada and the US.

@@CJ-mr2rj no because obviously not as popular in my province. Mostly only heard of these companies because of australia not having airsoft. I do believe amazon still has some of these 'bigger' brands for gel shooters. But usually you only get reccomended the weird third party ones that shoot like 3 feet and are meant for kids.

it's low kinetic energy is actually pretty neat for CQB sessions, and it's super easy to clean up the mess (gel balls just get dry and shrink, no more "bio BB" bullshit)

Definitely going to consider this, seems good value right out of the box, but should also be easy to mod, upgrade, paint, and customize.
is this ammo biodegradable?
since they explode etc and are quite hard to spot cleaning would be a nightmare.

@@peqpie Yes but they are generally made out of biodegradable plastic. Hydrated they are usually 7-8mm, dehydrated they are about 1mm. If it's exploded on impact the pieces essentailly dry to the size of dust particles.

We’re a new fan of gel blasters. Just got ours, different brand and model but we love it.
me and a bunch of my friends have them and we live in a smaller town so it’s fun to ride around and shoot when we see each other. we just put bunch of rounds in a smart water bottle before we go to bed that way we have a bunch for the next day
