    Isn't it SO good! It is wildly expressive, and deceptive beyond necessary. I love how interactive all of the sound is, and how much actual control you have over what you are doing.
    GAH!!! MAKE MORE NOISE WITH IT FOR US!!!!!

    Sonicware must be the most underrated brand in the market! I bought a used Elz1 cheap on a whim and looked into their other products and I have no idea how this brand hasn’t blown up the industry.

      @@fulluphigh right on. Thanks for your reply. Do you have one? If so, how long? I’m excited about the possibilities because I believe these sounds, although retro, don’t age. They can fit in contemporary music if done properly. The price point is exciting too.

    • @fulluphigh
      @fulluphigh 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jubeijackson6602 Yeah, I've had one since September! Didn't get to really start messing with it till last month because life, but I'm really digging it. The sounds are great, but I also love the groovebox features. The sequencer is super easy to use and the looper and live play are awesome additions that make it even more fun, at least for me. A lot of people don't care about that stuff and will just sequence it with their daws if at all and that's fine, cause the synth engines are already worth the asking price.
      You're totally right about the retro sounds being pretty timeless, at least to me as well. These beeps and boops are inspiring to me.
      On that note, two final things: the factory patterns are the best I've ever seen on a hardware synth, hands down. Super inspiring, super fun. Otoh, the documentation is pretty bad, at least in English. There's a few tutorial videos that have popped up but digging into anything that woochia doesn't cover is challenging, I've had to just mess around till I feel like I sorta get it. This is mainly in terms of the sequencer functions though.

      @@fulluphigh thanks again for the reply. I just picked up a Behringer Crave so my hands are full with that atm but I’ll definitely be picking one of these up in the near future for sure.
      I spent about an hour this morning watching some tutorials and sound demos on the Liven and I’m excited about the possibilities but like I mentioned before I’m going to show this crave some respect and give it some undivided TLC for the time being. 😂 but I can really see the opportunities to make some really fun “get up and move” music. A little bit of punchy bass a melody some beep boops and I’ll be ready to fight crime like Axel and the gang. 😂.

    I was a little put off by some of the demos I saw, as it was targeted more towards a "performance" machine than a traditional synth, but it really seems pretty flexible to use and it's got a lot of great sounds. Personally, I think this pretty much eliminates the need for NES sounds, the SID-based synthesizer, the Atari stuff, etc. If you're looking squarely for those specific sounds, maybe not, but it's got a whole bag full of sounds that sound 98% similar to those and a lot more, and there's a lot more you can do with those sounds.
    For the price, it's an utterly remarkable instrument and worth at least double every penny. I'm not HUGE into chiptune, but every so often I hear sounds or music while playing old classic games, and I think "I'd love to incorporate that into something." This would fit the bill without having to have complicated retro hardware setups.

    Forgot to mention the looper, which was one of the most mind blowing features to be included on top of everything on this little thing! 3 internal looper tracks you can record sequences to and a dedicated external track to record from line in? It makes syncing this thing with other little synths for jams an absolute joy. This and the po arcade, like biscuits and gravy 👌
    Did you see the teaser vid for the dedicated fm version they're making? The video was pretty bad and I don't know if I want another copy of the exact same box with different engines, but I'm hopefully maybe they'll release it as a purchasable firmware for this thing (I can't really ask for it for free given the already low price, but then again look at the microfreak, setting a pretty ridiculous bar for after release support...)
