I preordered one and it is great value for money. Great sounds, good effects, sequencer and looper. With the batteries and built in speaker it is great for just sitting on the couch and messing around as well. I have gotten rid of a lot of other gear but I will be keeping this because it is fun and unique sounding.
I've seen some tutorials but they don't really cover the looper section, so sitting and watching you build up a track with it was great - Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
Value for dollar on this synth is crazy good, and it sounds great; as another child of the 80’s, I agree ‘nostalgic’ is definitely a good word for it. Think this would make a nice addition to a simple/compact live setup. Appreciate the demo! 🙏🏻
There is something about your videos and sounds, every time you put sounds together magic just happens! Enjoyed the presentation, sounds and thoughts! Liven 8 bit sounds like very interesting addition to my gear collection, especially at that price, I started creating music on trackers on Amiga 500 and early PC computers back in the 90s so it definitely takes me back to those days and some great memories, many thanks!
dude I was just watching your machinedrum video then randomly found this in my search for Liven material, you must have very good taste. If you record this + octatrack, I'll sub to you
If you haven't got one already, I ordered mine directly from Sonicware and it came in no time at all - I had to pay customs on top, but it was straightforward.
Hey, thanks for the review. I think you made a little mistake. The liven has a 128 Step Sequencer and Looper. It also has 128 preset slots. You can double press the Bank buttons to get to the later banks. Looking forward to the elz 1 review 👍
Thanks for the video. I posted this on Chris Lody Warps tutorial video also: wanted to know if you have any input or someone here. "Just got Warps and updated to 3.0 Works fine... I am having trouble with Warps being controlled as a sound module by Ableton Live Midi out...I want to record audio from Warps.. It works with Warps as the Master, but it isn't receiving MIDI in when I play Midi out from Live; I am using Push 2 as my main controller. I followed the Warps MIDI functions instructions in the manual ,,, I dont see 8Bits Warps listed in the controllers on Live 11, this might be the issue, I am using Focusrite Scarlett 6i as my interface, do you know a work-around or other help to fix this ? thanks!
Pretty sure 8 bit always sounds more or less that good, I believe that's the reason "8 bit" exists as a tone, because it's considered a fun tone to play. It's also incredibly annoying if it's your only tone, definitely not a first synth if you're looking for a good groove box
Why promote amazon? That is the biggest human rights abuser in the world. That is why it is not a success in Europe. Just buy your equipment in normal stores, because the price is the same or cheaper. Continue to work on music that you are good at.
Dear Antonio, I understand your concern. Let me explain why I do what i do. I put endless hours in content creations, music creations and free tutorials. Despite reaching hundred of thousands of people, TH-cam pays me a monthly average of 160$, Instagram pays me ZERO, Spotify 20$ and 90% of the regular audience would not pay even 1$ to support me. Of an average of 40k subscriber here and on IG, around 50 (not even the 1%) are helping me on Patreon. Sadly, affiliate links are one of the only ways for us to sustain our mission. Trust me, if things for artists and creators would be fair, we would not have to promote Amazon. Now let me ask you something: if you like my music or the music of other artist here, what do you do to help us? And I'm not only talking about paying for your entertainment, but also sharing and promoting contents on your socials. Even If you are one of the few that actively help us, how do you think musician should make a living ? Off of nice compliments in the comments? Thanks anyway for watching my video , In the end I'm doing everything because I LOVE music and sharing knowledge, hopefully this shed some light on the struggles creators have to face before getting big. Ciao!
Excellent demo video ... I'm able to confirm this Lil instrument be a nice addition for its unique sound
A lovely demo and instructions too - very clear to understand, it certainly makes more sense now. Cheers!
Glad it was helpful!

Amazing unit and great demo. Hoping they release a deluxe version with multitimbrality, saveable loops and a USB power socket.

Thanks for the info! you are completely right!
I have the ELZ_1 and it has a total charm to it, looking forward to the review, it seems a bit more premium.
The Elz feels a little more premium and was almost 3 time the price. Love them both anyway!

Cool ma good review
Thanks!
Onboard effects!?! It sounds LUSH!
yeah its a complete package :)
i need this.
:)
This is a great review. Do you know if it is possible to save a looper track into a new pattern or some some of memory?
I will need to check that out!
Do you think the sound quality on this is nicer than the ELZ_1? It sounds better in demos I’ve seen at least
I think they are both good quality. I kinda prefer the ELZ1 tones tho

One of the most intimidating looking person making some of the sweetest sentimental thought provoking sounds.
