Eyes Wide Shut - "The Letter Theory" Part 2

  • In my last video we went over how how many speculate that "Eyes Wide Shut" was re-edited after Kubrick's passing to remove Stanley Kubrick's true message of the film and the revelations that come along with it. After I made my first video it left some audience members with lingering questions and so I am back with more evidence to uncover more of this twisted tale. Let's investigate the clues in the film and those hidden in the script and see what we can infer with the evidence. Prepare to go deeper into "Eyes Wide Shut" and understand the mystery that is "THE LETTER THEORY". We will look over who Bill and Alice really are, their relationship, and their secrets. We will investigate why the group wanted them in the first place and we move closer to answering some the final big questions.
    In the next and final installment - 'The Letter Theory Part 3' we will be linking the last of the connections to this maze-like mystery and unmasking people from the costume party!
    thank you for all of the youtubers, bloggers, and redditors that have studied the film over the years and inspired me to go even deeper to try and solve the mystery.

      Can you mention how the content of the letter in the book this film is based on? Cuz I feel like everything is making so much sense outside of the fact that the letter in the book is the same as the one in the film and script.@@jacobdesioreviews

      @@jacobdesioreviews did you go through the part where the word 'sex' is spelled out above the little girl's bed in the movie? if you trace the outlines of the abstract painting above her bed, you clearly see this.
      Stanley K knew what he was doing - that painting was a conscious choice

    Man, your letter theory is great, after i watched the movie again with this theory in mind, i'm sold. and i spotted a second edit. right after the letter scene, there is a scene where bill is looking at his daughter and his wife, processing what was in the letter. but the edit makes it as if he is thinking about his wifes confession about the naval officer. this can easily be done by just overlaying a different audio. that this is an edit becomes even more evident when the following scene shows bill again, this time in his office and NOW he is thinking about the naval officer. having this twice makes not a lot of sense. and in the scene where he is looking at his daughter and alice, the concern in his face fits way better with being under the pressure of your letter theory than thinking about the naval officer at that point. feel free to include this in part 3! ;) credits would be an additional honor

    Bill was creepy when he was feeling up Domino's roommate, also. As far as Milich's daughter, he didn't do anything even as a mandated reporter. It means that by law, he is in a position where he has to report physical, sexual, or emotional abuse to authorities and he didn't. You're right. He wasn't a good man.

    On the case about the child trafficking implications, you should mention how Zeigler calls Mandy “kiddo” which could either mean that she’s been with the cult since she was a kid or that he has no problem abusing kids.
    I’ve also heard other theories mention that Alice could have been trafficked at an early age and has been suppressing those memories or was drugged which explains her dreams. Since she does seem to be connected to high society through her job as a gallery manager

    This is great, and in keeping with Kubrick. I feel The Shining is a film, presented in metaphor, about the molestation of a child. And I think Kubrick dressed it up like a haunted hotel flick to get it out. Eyes Wide Shut is very likely about a horrible, horrible thing that he couldn't bluntly make a movie about. The man speaks in metaphor and his films are a puzzle. I absolutely love that.

    • @jacobdesioreviews
      @jacobdesioreviews  วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      The irony of you writing this on a phone or computer and not adding to the convo at all. I find it it icky and a false comparison that you are comparing a man in a film who actively ignored child trafficking offered to him and someone in a different country who is forced to buy a phone to work in modern capitalism. I have to use electronics but I try to use them to start important conversations like the abuse of children and for you to come in and try to derail the conversation and trying to discredit me with something you are actively doing… actually you are using a phone made by slavery and you aren’t trying to speak out for people that have no voice but instead you are trying to shut down the convo. I think what you are doing is very “icky” to be honest.
      Yes, unfortunately the phone I am using is probably made with slave labor, that’s why I use an old phone (iPhone 12) that was refurbished. Using a phone made with slave labor is bad, I agree but I specifically chose the phone I did because a lot of the rare earth in it is recycled.
      Before commenting stuff like this you should ask yourself what are YOU doing for the world and how are you also participating in the system. Not saying I can’t be better but don’t point fingers before looking in the mirror

    When Bill (Tom Cruise) enters the house in that scene, the song playing in the background, when reversed, seems to say something about God, prayer, mercy, etc. I think that because the message is reversed, it symbolizes how good things, when inverted, represent evil. It’s clear that the actions they are engaging in are evil, and the reversal of the song feels like they are mocking God. What do you think about this interpretation?

    Honestly, I can't come up with any plausible theories about this movie until I see the 24 minutes that were deleted from it. They deleted these minutes after Kubrick had died. Apparently he begged and pleaded with them and said that he was not going to take those scenes out of the movie. Then he died not too long after that and the scenes are removed anyway, hmmmmmm. He was exposing the elites and child trafficking in this movie. Even 30 seconds of missing footage can change an entire movie let alone 24 minutes. The thing that sucks about all of this is that we will never ever see the missing footage. If they didn't want you to see the footage because it was too graphic, they would have no problem releasing a director's cut when it came to home video. It wasn't because it was too graphic, it was because it revealed things about secret societies that they did not want you to see. Think about it, when the hell have these people in Hollywood ever cared about debauchery and movies? I could understand for the theatrical release, but not for the home release. I want to know what these sons of b****** are hiding in this movie. You already saw that Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman had to give up their daughter at the end of the movie to this cult. So the footage that was deleted has to be worse than that.

  • @armandoguerra7658
    @armandoguerra7658 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The missing footage, I think, is, the scene where Nicole Kidman is with the naval officer.
    Probably Tom discussed with Nicole to say no to those scenes, which Kubrick seemingly, banned Tom from even watch as they were filmed. This reinforces the theory that Stanley was ‘dealed with’ before the movie was released, and Scientology somehow, with their influence, deleted and changed some scenes, even the way the story progresses to make Nicole look even worse. At this point is impossible to corroborate anything without first hand knowledge of the behind the scenes.
    Almost every theory I’ve heard of this movie makes sense in an esoteric way, and most people agree in the most ‘outlandish’ theories, and every year new facts appear from apparently nowhere. I’m sure someday everything will be revealed one way or another, but I’m sure this was Stanley’s way to expose a cursed cult to the masses in a “subtle” way.

    Enjoyed this. Like the voice over addition.
    I think it's important to acknowledge the parts which seem to indicate parts are a dream. The way he goes to the house where the party is/was from two different directions. The way he also gets a taxi again as he retraces his path to go somewhere which reflections show is just across the road. Also Mandy (if it is her) at the party is not the same actress and red cloak is not Ziegler. So if anything they more symbolise them. There must be relevance to this.

      Yes, good point. It reminds me of the 1977 French film, The Obscure Object of Desire, the lead character Conchita was played by two similar looking actresses. Your theory has merit. I am struck by the similarity of ancient Biblical cultures that practiced child sacrifice. Baal worshipers believed that sacrificing the first born would give them prosperity.
    Perhaps that is the deal the characters make in the film and we are seeing the transfer point. Although they interact with their daughter (see the Rosemary Baby carriage discussion b/w daughter and mother), it is cold and disinterested. Almost as if the parents cannot afford to see their daughter as anything other than a transaction or means to an end, which they have already decided upon. Hence, their focus on their own selfish point of view in the ensuing conversation. How would any decent person imagine such a bargain? We cannot. Hence, the normal viewer sees, but doesn't see in this horrific scene.
    For a modern take on ancient pagan religious practices is Midsommer. That film looks sunny, light and beautiful on the surface, but it is a true horror movie: dark, disturbing and demonic right underneath the surface. The female lead character has the same disinterested look at the end of the film when she makes her decision.

And as you pointed out, sketchy part of town. Of all the times he failed to step up, that's the one I'm willing to give him a pass on.
    Nothing about the way Bill behaves after the letter makes much sense if the note was simply that firm "Seriously, we said go away please" reminder. And his daughter walking away... I mean, she just straight up vanishes from the film never to be mentioned again. Also, Alice's attitude and emotions make a lot more sense if she just gave her daughter away.

Most scenes clearly don’t feel like Kubrick but there are some scenes in the cult and the opening that are signature Kubrick. The rest? A typical 1999 movie that isn’t complete. It seems like it’s pretty obvious that it’s about rich elites abusing people? Like it’s not hidden at all and they could have just not allowed it to be released or made if they really thought it exposed too much.

      Same here. It’s interesting how TH-cam knows I just watched Eyes Wide Shut on paramount plus. Letter theory 1 was top of my feed the same day I watched the movie.

      Just because they use a specific part of a city doesn’t mean it is supposed to have the same vibes as the real world place. They are communicating with the graffiti, the bars on the windows, and the people on the streets (like the jocks who try to start a fight with him or the working woman that approached him)

    I really don't think zieglar is the red cloak. I believe he envies the red cloak or has been at other parties or knows he may well be in the future. Maybe there's a rota system between the most powerful men. Thebodily dimensions of zieglar and red cloak clearly don't match. Plus leon vitali plays red cloak not zieglar. Vitali is mentioned in the news article with Mandy as a high end fashion owner to which mandy was a model for
