- BoyWithUke is back at the Genius Open Mic studio for a special acoustic performance of his newest single, "Before I Die." This is his latest appearance on the show, following fan favorite episodes for "Toxic" and "Understand." But this is a particularly momentous episode because it also marks the first time Uke has ever performed without his signature mask. The introspective track is off his recently-released "Lucid Dreams" project, which also features "Migraine" and "Trauma."

1:24 WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE PERCUSSIVE STRUMMING. I've played ukulele on and off for about 4 years and its still a technique I struggle with, yet boywithuke makes it look effortless while still singing as good, if not better, than the recorded version. That's REAL talent right there.

Anyone else realise he‘s using his finger as a capo? Like he has one on the 2nd fret, but he‘s using his finger on the 4th fret, which is the capo recommendation on all tutorials. He is indeed playing Dm, Am7 and F, I was checking that when I noticed him literally not using the capo.
It's because the capo makes the capo by hand easier to hold.
