I live in Washington state, honeycrisp apples are hands down the best! For eating and juicing. I use an Omega 8004 horizontal single. I had it for well over 20yrs. My favourite kitchen appliance. Thanks for the vid.
I use 1 honey crisp, 3 carrots, small slice of ginger, celery and whatever else we have that I need to get rid of at the time. I also do a beet, honey crisp apple and ginger too. I juice with a sana 727
The honeycrisp apple makes exquisite juice and is high content. Just one apple makes a good amount of juice and the flavor is amazing. Now, they are expensive and aren’t aways available. I add it to my blood orange, Cara Cara orange, and pineapple juices.
Honeycrisp in Washington state are amazing juiced! I watched this video because I just juiced gala with my Omega juicer and it turned into applesauce, hardly any juice. I've always thought Honeycrisp are kind've overrated to eat, like others said below, since they are pricier and I was expecting a sweet apple. I have had really good Honeycrisp applesauce from a store before. Juiced, it held up and tasted supersweet! If you ever are in Japan and have the chance to get a honey (hachimitsu) apple they're the best, sweet apple I've ever had!
Natural fruit sugar is completely different than soda sugar..by far! The human body is DESIGNED to process fruit and fruit sugar over anything else. We're a Frugivore species anyway so if one researches the truth about the different kinds of sugars and how they affect us along with what happens to food when cooked and how the human body responds or processes it, one will find there's no comparison regarding fruit sugar being good for us verses other sugars and sticky starches which turn to a very bad sugar, etc. PLEASE Diabetics, please research and don't take anyone's WORD for gospel. My wife discovered Honeycrisp about a year ago. Now I can't buy anything else. Definitely the best for peeled/sliced and packed in a lunch. My previous fave was Granny Smith. You can save about 30% on cost if your grocer carries lunchbox size, though you lose some savings due to waste if you peel/slice.
Would it be possible to review the Hurom H100 sometime in the future? I like the look of this juicer. Very stylish and easy to clean. Must be a close call between it and my other favourite vertical the Sana 828 😉
I've seen it on a "Best Juicer 2019" video, and since then we've had a few requests for it. I did a quick take on it in our "Favorite vertical juicers 2018" video at the 10:00 mark, but maybe you saw that already: th-cam.com/video/nryVIiIopRA/w-d-xo.html It's not a juicer we currently offer, but if we can get a demo unit I'd love to take a closer look. Based on our limited testing over a few days, we're with you in liking the design and the fast cleanup. With a few more engineering tweaks, it could be a strong contender.
It's a close decision. I've done some side by side testing with them, and they both give very similar results. The 808 was always at the top of the class, so it's difficult to improve the performance in terms of juice quality and yield. The main benefit of the 808 is the lower price. The 828 costs 50 euros more, but includes a sorbet screen, glass containers instead of plastic, a better feeding tube/tray, and the pulp regulation control (mainly beneficial for cleaning). Personally I'd stick with my 707, because I like the versatility of a horizontal. But honestly between the 808 and 828, they are both excellent.
I suppose you could try with a file, although those blades are pretty thin. So far mine at home has managed to stay pretty sharp. Typically the plastic frame breaks before the blades get too dull.
Really well produced video. Nicely normalized audio, great content. Pace is a little slow for me - but that's just my natural impatience - kind of a brain dump junkie.
Thank you for the kind comments. Also thanks for the previous comment about Honeycrisp. I hope to someday be able to try it here in Europe. it sounds like it lives up to the hype.
red delicious apples are cheap because they are basically a weed. Invented in usa they tried to grow other apples but the land simply wont stop growing red delicious. It would cost too much to the farmers to transition. they are the worst tasting apple by far despite the name although the most healthy. the usa exports 80 percent of it because Americans do not like it. They are for that reason the cheapest apple you can get.

It sounds like a good recipe - does the celery affect the flavor much? The Sana 727 is a very good choice.

Thanks for talking up the Australian Granny Smith apples. 😎 👍
Our pleasure!
Hello There! Wondering how many apples you used in each glass? :) Thanks for the video!
I don't remember exactly, but I think it was three or four per juicer.

I love Gala apples, cannot eat enough of them :D
In the Uk Gala have gone down hill best apples here are pink lady but very expensive

Much better Dan good job 😁

This was exactly the video I was hoping for, so thank you.
My question is why didn't you run the lemon through the juicer?
I could have run it through the juicer. But the peel adds a bitter oil, and the hand squeezer is fast and avoids that.

Hi, a quick question: How do you sharpen those apple slicers when they are no longer sharp ? A file ?
I suppose you could try with a file, although those blades are pretty thin. So far mine at home has managed to stay pretty sharp. Typically the plastic frame breaks before the blades get too dull.
Nice information
I have a honeycrisp tree. The wasps abs hornets go crazy for its fruit.

As per apple seeds, that cyanide kills cancer cells. See G. Edward Griffin’s “World Without Cancer,” both a documentary and a book.
I have not juiced a 'Honey Crisp', but I find the flavor is overrated. The crispness is unparalleled, however.
Thanks for the feedback. I've never found HoneyCrisp here, and just hear about them.

I agree, they are the least "delicious". Not sure how they got that name.
