I never really cared for Lalas in his early days as an analyst, but he’s growing on me a little more. Kind of like the way I feel about John McEnroe, a pain as a player, but matured now he’s older.
Clickbait garbage, Lalas does not "open up" about his behavior in 98, he alludes very vaguely to it. Doesn't even mention Captain John Harkes sleeping with Eric Wynalda's wife, which lead to Harkes being dismissed from the team.
@@lightingbolt8148 I think it was just a lame promotion for this segment. I don't think it even exists anymore. Kind of like Piers Morgan landing Howard Stern for one of his first interviews when his show debuted on CNN. It was also short lived.
He wouldn’t be on our team nowadays, but he helped build what we have now and what is to come. He also played in Serie A when that was the best league in the world, which is no small feat. He did have his attributes.
@@jonathanflugstad6425 I totally understand your point, but I would say then that he is more so deserving of a commemorative luncheon and plaque for his contribution to the development of US soccer, but nothing more. Also, let's be honest, the Serie A team he played for was Calcio Padova. The season he was there, they were in a relegation scrap and the season after, when he was there on loan, they were relegated. Also some of his commentary on the game have been absolutely abysmal, especially when he attempts to hold his own against legitimate champions eg Michael Ballack...I'm sure we all watched the commentary at the 2012 Euros 🙄.

An analyst that goes on to spitefully bash the greatest player of all times? Nah, people don't change...
Lalas NCAA player of the year 1991. Tough as nails, always won headers, tenacious, great leader.
Those that don't know don't know.
England missed out on the ‘94 World Cup thanks to the USA 🇺🇸. They had a great team.
More like thanks to Holland who finished above England in their qualifying group.
@@johnhough8754Lol yeah that comment makes no sense, USA doesn’t compete in European qualifying…
Interesting Set
One of the most recognized faces in the history of US mens soccer...Isn't that kind of like an oxymoron?
who???
ermm, explain?
🤣

So what’s the point of the interview then?

Most recognizable faces in US soccer? Hahahaha wtf XD
He had to act like a clown during the games in the World Cup because he couldn’t cut it with talent alone.
🫤 National Soccer Hall of Fame??! You know the quality of our country’s soccer program is truly lacking when Alexi Lalas is in a HOF.
THANK YOU!!!!

We've been waiting for someone to say this.
This show is weak. It's wasting space. Just stick to Ninja Warrior.
She does a good job, name one person that has a more entertaining show than her with athletes.
