@@clubhead433 Ah. Bionic Boogie live and in studio have very little connection. The band that performed most as Bionic Boogie live was Mother Nature - Father Time. See project I'm working on at kissbandstree.com.
thanks soooo much for sharing this clip!! it is from the Miami based show Disco 77, filmed at various discos in the Miami/Ft Lauderdale area William/miami
@Ed Miller Do you mean he walked away after the Hot Butterfly LP? Bionic Boogie's 2nd LP. Or, was he supposed to sing on the 1st LP but didn't get the coins he wanted and walked, but they paid him what he wanted for the Hot Butterfly LP? @lynchone: If Luther had sung on the 1st LP, you can definitely pick his vocal out of the harmony as it was so distinctive...even if the blend was tight, his voice just bleeds across the harmony. @Ed Miller: They need to do a "20 feet from Stardom" documentary with the NY backing vocal studio singers....there sure was a click of them that work together on a lot of Disco & R&B Disco, and Soul records of the '70s & '80s.
Luther sang on the 3rd Bionic Boogie album Tiger Tiger.. Apparently he was denied writing credits on Hot Butterfly but his name is all over the Tiger Tiger L.P which isn't very good IMO
This was actually a studio band they were looking for somebody to actually front the song there was a band called mother nature father Time (A band that played on Long Island a lot very good musicians) that actually showcase the song at a club in Manhattan as bionic boogie. I lent the drum of my symbols and was at the club is actually very cool but I don’t think it went anywhere from there. I can’t remember the name of the club but used to go up a freight elevator and the club was actually incredibly cool and if I remember the name I will put it back in this comment it’s a one word club and I believe the cover charge was either 10 or $25 which was insane back in the day most clubs were a dollarOr two to get in and the club and the drinks was six bucks with a high-end drink at a regular bar with about $1.35 But the six box was well spent the drinks were massive they play that a lot at kthe tabard ale house In Wantagh LI
I'm floored! I'm working on a project involving the version of Bionic Boogie that had Eric Carr (from Kiss), John Henderson, Tom Siano, etc. Any and all details on this would be very highly appreciated. Please see peko.net/kiss and facebook.com/kissbandstree and tell me if you'd like free FTP access to not watermarked version. Thank you so much for sharing this. I don't understand how this was uploaded way back in 2014, but here it is... Floored!
NYC produced CLASSIC...what can I say... back in the day when all roads converged at NYC. Electric.
The first 3 songs on this album, " Dance Little Dreamer", "Risky Changes", and "Don't Lose that number (Mumbo Jumbo)" are sheer perfection.
Read up on Greg diamond then you will know why
Disco era seemed to be so enchanting but too short 🤩
Was too young to appreciate!
I was partying like a rock star on this song
Zach, Gwen Guthrie and Ullanda Mccullough....are credited as the singers on this.
Interesting. Where did you find those credits? Zach is Zach Sanders.
@@mcpeko It on the LP and it's listed in Discogs.
That may be Zach...I don't know...never saw a pix of him, but we all know that ain't hardly Gwen or Ullanda on that stage.
