It doesn't make any sense for him to be in the middle lane when he knows he's making a right after the traffic light unless he was trying to fly past the plaintiff and cut him off which is how he caused the accident.

Regardless of the intersection in this case, the dude did not have right of way.
Not in this case. Plaintiff had to wait for him to pass. He's already on that street. NOBODY drives in that curb lane.

Legally, you are not allowed to change lanes in an intersection. You must wait until after you pass through. But nobody drives in the curb lane.

Yeah, there's no question that this was the defendant's fault. I've seen drivers like him before -- they think they're all slick and want to show that they're able to merge into a lane at the very last minute, or they were in too much of a hurry to realize that they were in the wrong lane and just merged without taking into account other motorists on the road. That's the problem with drivers out there; they lack patience.

Yep. Honestly I forget a lot, what I do is immediately put my signal on for people behind me. Then I immediate slow down ,sometimes almost stopping if no cars letting me in.
The issue is no one wants to be behind another car... always needing to be ahead... which sign of poor driving behaviors
@@bunnyrabithat's the problem in a nutshell. Then you have the driver that's obsessed with being behind the other car. If there's two lanes and a center turning lane, no one continuing beyond the next mile should be in the far right lane. You reserve it for the entering and exiting cars. This is true for the interstate as well.
@@truelife974 On the freeway, I give myself a minimum of 1.5 to 2 miles before making my exit. That way, I allow plenty of time for myself and also allow other motorists to drive safely to where they need to go. I've seen people in the fast lane who cruise four lanes then reach their exit. Those people are jerks!

Even if the defendant's car did not contact the plaintiff's car he caused the plaintiff to have to make an evasive maneuver and as a result the plaintiff's car was damaged from hopping the curb to avoid the defendant.

He cut him off. He was in the right lane, moving it alone, he can't see what wrong he has caused the other driver.
It’s legally called a “miss and run”. His actions were unsafe and they caused someone else’s car to be damaged.

Too bloody right-it tells other drivers your intention to turn or change lanes. You still need to do mirror and shoulder checks before proceeding if safe.
And out here in LA, nobody uses turn signals because jerks will speed up purposely because they don’t want to let you in. We have the worst drivers in America, and I used to live in NYC.

The plaintiff's honesty about admitting that defendant's car may not have hit his car but may have made him have to hit the curb to drive defensively is what cinched it. He didn't have to lie to prove his damage or negligence on the defendant's part.

i live right there, on crenshaw and rosecrans. there are two entries into crenrose plaza. trying to enter the east driveway, nearest to the intersection will cause an accident, and the defendant's own illustration depicts him being at fault
Too close to the intersection - that entrance shouldn’t even be there if the illustrations are as the reality. D definitely caused this so I’m glad the P got it squared up.

In many states it's illegal to make a lane change within a certain amount of feet from a traffic light he stated he was in the middle lane when he should have been in the far right lane to turn right. American drivers no longer have patience or common sense when driving and too many think putting their blinker on gives them the right of way

This is the first time I’ve seen both the plaintiff and defendant’s stories matched up giving an accurate picture of what happened. There was no need to figure out who was not telling the truth which is usually the case with these type of cases. Now after all the long explanation by JJ, what could have possessed the witness to stand up? The “SID DOWN!”came so fast, I nearly passed out with laughter!

I live down the street, that’s a chaotic corner, and trying to get to that donut shop is a MESS!
If the defendant knew that he was going to the donut shop which was right after the intersection, then he should have ALREADY been in the far right lane behind the plaintiff BEFORE the intersection so that he could make a safe turn into the shopping center. The defendant was in the far left lane, and then foolishly waited until AFTER the intersection and then tried to hurry up and cut off the plaintiff to make the right turn into the shopping center. The accident is 100% his fault.
